Freezing 100mg/ml nicotine in PG

Apparently, I already committed a faux pas by buying my nic as PG, instead of as VG, but my questions are:

Assuming I pour my 100mg/ml nicotine in PG (presently in 1000ml plastic bottles) into 500ml glass containers with a screw cap, will storing them around zero degrees Fahrenheit turn them from a liquid into a solid (the freezer I've been looking at can be set approximately that low)?

If stored that way, how long will the nicotine last without degrading or growing significantly weaker (I thought I read somewhere that even frozen, nicotine solutions lose like 20% after 10 years)?

PG nic base will not freeze to solid. Suggest leaving some space in the glass bottles. PE caps (or PE lined caps) are best. No rubber droppers. Shelf life is not entirely knowable but some have stored nic eliquid base with little or no deteriorization for over 4 years so far. See a recent DIY thread on freezing.

Inannalu, to really make all that nic-liquid last and remain fresh, you should get a bunch of smaller glass bottles. I use 30-50 mL amber glass. Then CAREFULLY (with gloves, long sleeves, a funnel or VERY steady hand, eye protection) tranfer the liquid to each of these, and as Kent said, leave a couple mL of headspace in each bottle. Screw on cap, label clearly (I include the date too), and store them in the freezer, preferably in a large plastic container, in case of breakage.

100 mg nic is dangerous. You don't want any spills or for it to get on your skin. I have links to the various items in a rather long thread here:

I start a few posts in describing how I process 35 mg VG, then 100 mg VG later. Read it carefully and follow my instructions. 1000 mL is going to be about 20 50 mL bottles, but you can process part of it, and leave the rest in a larger glass bottle for processing later.

The point of the small bottles is to not need to take the large bottle out all the time to make juices. You take out a smaller bottle, use it for some weeks, and the rest is unused in the freezer. Some people make their base that they like for juices in the beginning and then freezer stor that. I don't. I make my juices from scratch as I need them with 100 mg base, as it came from the vendor. Introducing anything carrying a risk of contamination, and I vape a bunch of different nic levels, so making a bunch of, say, 12 mg base liquid is not something I will vape all the time. I make fresh as I need it, since my tastes change too frequently.

Oh, and PG will remain pretty liquid at zero degrees F. VG gets very very thick, and so nicotine is less likely to find an O2 molecule to react with. All of my VG-nic, up to four years old now, is unchanged from the day I got it. I personally have had mixed results with PG-nic. If it is lower quality nicotine (will have a strong taste and maybe yellow color) this nic in PG may not remain unchanged. I have had some PG-nic that changed a LOT after a year, although it was an enjoyable nic none the less to me. It does not go "bad" but it does oxidize and lower the actual nic level.

Other PG-nics I have had that were clearly much cleaner nics, no color, little taste, remained unchanged after a year...but I've not done the experiment for longer than that with PG nic. Others here have had PG-nic remain unchanged in the freezer for 3 years, I think. YMMV.
