Hey guys, just a little warning for everyone new, don't worry I'm not a naysayer or anything lol. Anyway, if you're new to vaping, I would recommend that you don't try to use 24mg nicotine strength as an all day vape, especially if you're a chain smoker, even if its 3 packs a day. You may want to buy a bottle of it, so you can squirt some into a tank and take a couple puffs from time to time however, then I'd suggest using the 18mg strength as your all day vaping juice. This is moreso important to people like me who are disabled and have to take pain medications. As a heavy smoker you don't really think of nic poisoning. I was a heavy chain smoker, and recently switched to e-cigs. I started out with 24 mg nic juice, tried to chain smoke the stuff, didn't realize it was effecting me negatively due to my pain medication, and ended up really sick. With the new clearomizers, and wonderful tasting e-juice that pumps out tons of vapor, its even more important to be careful. You get a lot more nicotine at once than you do with a normal cigarette, a lot of chain smokers take a bit smaller puffs too. It is nice to have a 24mg nic juice, just have to be a bit careful with it if you're new :) (Sorry for the sloppy mess of a post, my enter key won't work to make paragraphs on this site most of the time!)

I was a 2+ PAD ML smoker, started out with 18mg ejuice... vaped so much I got the nic OD feeling the first day. Switched to 12mg and was fine for several weeks. I have since switched back to 18 and chain vap with no probs now. Been thinking about keeping some 24 on hand for those special occasions.

I was a very heavy smoker...3 to 4 packs a day. I started off with 24mg with no problem. I tried some 18mg juice to see if it made a difference in the strong TH of some juices, but found that it was much too mild for me. I went back to 24mg and plan to stay there. It works for me. There are even some days I wish I had some 36mg juice!

Veering off-topic, but try holding 'Shift' and pressing Enter while the shift key is down. This trick also works on most forms where 'Enter' will just submit the form

Back on-topic- I bet it not only depends on the person's individual nic tolerance, but also what kind of cigs they smoked prior to switching...

I think a lot of it has to do with how often you're taking a vape. For someone who only hits their e-cig every twenty minutes or so 24 or even 36mg may be fine. But for someone who is taking a vape every 10 minutes it may be too much.

I started out at 36 and pretty much vaped like I did when I was smoking. As I got more and more into the vaping world I started vaping more and had to cut the nic down to 28 and then 18, then 12. Now I'm vaping 6mg which was fine for my cartotanks but now that I'm into rebuildables I think I'm going to have to cut it down even more (RBAs give a lot more nic than cartos or clearos).

My stock of zero nic juice is slowly climbing but I think I'll keep some 6 or 12 on hand for when I really need a fix.

I've been vaping 24 nic juice for my 2 months with really no problem except I don't fall asleep like I use to. I'm going down to 18 once all my 24 juice is gone. I'm trying with vaping 0 nic juice a couple hours before bed and so far its the 5th night and seems to be working, I am falling asleep faster with not vaping 24 juice late in the evening.
I'm a cronic chain vaper and yes its very easy to overnic yourself when your just sitting at the comp vapin away.

Tucson, it's a dry heat
I started on 24 on the recommendation of the local store. Problem is that I chain-vaped like crazy. Ughhhh dizzying sick nausea! In 3 weeks I'm down to 12. Could probably even go down further. YMMV.

Start with 24 if you want, but buy in small quantities in case it's too much. In fact, have several nic levels on hand until you figure out your sweet spot.

So true. When I bought my first tank system from a local Tobacco place, me and my dad taste tested a 24mg juice that was tasty and even gave me a slight buzz. The clerk said it was the same as a camel crush, which was my usual brand back when I smoked. I bought it and smoked away. I was almost giddy at first, but then I got anxiety and couldnt sleep that night. I felt shaky and my leg kept jerking when I was watching TV. I realized I had overdone it and couldnt handle that strength. I went down to 18, which is now my normal. Even with 18mg, I can get jittery if I over-vape, so I also have 12mg juices for times I plan on chain vaping (the weekends). I cant imagine 36 or those super high mg juices. I would be like a crack addict.

I was a pad smoker and started at 12mg like the shop here suggested and worked perfectly. You can start at 24mg and your body will get used to it but most times that high isn't needed. Between vaping my protank at 10w and chain vaping at times 6mg is more than enough for me. 7 weeks off analogs and pretty sure I could drop the nic even more if not altogether, now feels like its just the habit rather than the addiction.

The chain vaping has also slowed down allot now, will probably pick up again when I get more flavors to mix this weekend.

I started with 18 and 24 on some ejuices I bought early on. I can hardly touch it now, though sometimes add it to low or no-nic ejuice I have. within 1-2 months of when I started I scaled back to around 6, sometimes 12. to each their own, whatever works for you. I can see myself getting down to 0 nic and still chain-vaping ><

I do 0 and 6 since i like it smooth.

Since nic absorption is different between smoking and vaping, it is likely that some people absorb nic more efficiently from vapor than smoke. Also, your habit matters as well. For example, if you were largely a mouth-smoker, as in the smoke spends a lot of time in your mouth before entering your lung, you will get a lot more nic from vaping than a direct inhaler when you do the same thing with the vapor. The nic from vaping enters your blood mostly through mouth and nose tissues, as opposed to lungs in smoking.

Thats why its only a general reference to use how much you used to smoke to measure your e-juice strength. Certainly take it with a grain of salt.
