Kind of tough for me to describe this concept, but you gotta have faith that vaping is going to work for nicotine delivery. IOW, kind of taking the training wheels off when you were a kid; you were apprehensive, perhaps even a little afraid, but it worked! vaping is not like smoking, but it does do an acceptable job of delivering nicotine. We are all different obviously, so I can only speak about my own experience. I stopped after 35+ years smoking 2 PAD. I spoke to my doctor about it. Chantix helped greatly. I was also flat out ready and determined to quit. I was sick of smelling bad. I was sick of stained teeth. I was sick of being out of breath. I was sick of spending a small fortune to slowly kill myself. I could go on and on, but you get the idea.

Yes, it is difficult, I cannot lie. My best advice would be to take it as it comes, and don't dwell too much upon it. Saying things like, "If I can manage to..." is setting yourself up to fail. Of course you can manage to; just don't smoke anymore. Yes, it will be uncomfortable. Yes, you will crave a cigarette. Yes, you will make every excuse in the book to start again. Don't do it. Use the tools you have. Up your nic level, vape as much as you want to, when you want to. I hate to say it, but if quitting were easy, the tobacco companies would be out of business tomorrow.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but that is the reality of it. You are going to have a period of being very uncomfortable when you quit, but I promise you, it will pass. I can say this; it is well worth the discomfort in the end. Best of luck to you.

Seven months into vaping and I can feel your pain lemonleprosy.Listen,I know so well the pull those coffin nails have because I was a 40 year smoker. Marlboro Reds was my smoke. I started after seeing a knife guy I follow on youtube with a eGo hanging from his neck. Someone asked him if it was a water purification device.lol
That was my introduction to vaping but I got really interested after watching more videos by PBusardo,RiP Trippers and the like.I went online and purchased an eGo and some attys,24mg nic juice and off I went on this trip.
After the first couple of months I would buy a couple of packs of coffin nails and smoke them sparingly.I never imagined two packs would EVER last me a whole month,I use to go through that in one day! :D
It can be a slow process my friend,so keep with it and like others have already said, don't consider yourself a failure for smoking one or two every now and then.
Best of luck I know you will get sorted if you really want to quit smoking. ;)

Forgot to add that I kept a wet ashtray on the side porch. Every time I thought I wanted a cigarette I made a list of the reasons it was bad for me in my head and if that didnt work I took a big old whiff of that nasty wet ashtray.

Hope it helps.

For me it was walking into my brothers house and wheeew! That SMELL hit me like a truck! I know now what the kiddos meant when they would say I smelled like a trash can! :D

For the first year i was vaping i would vape for a few weeks then back on the analogues for a few weeks and back and forth. that was with an 801 pen style. since then the equipment has greatly improved and gotten more affordable. anyway in the last 2.5 years i have smoked 31 analogues and have not touched one for the last six months. i now consider my self to of made it. took some time but got there in the end. just keep going and if at first you don't succeed try try again. hope that helps.

If you are sick of your juice, I'm not surprised you're smoking. I have at least 5 flavours I love on the go every day. Plus your taste buds are still fried, so anything you vape has to really stand out. So if you up your Nic and find some good juices to change it with, will definitely help. I couldn't do it without Alice in Vapelands 15 foot falls and Tropical Tobacco from Juice Mafia is my new fav.

Don't stress over it. When you have the time to sit and relax, vape away. If you're busy and can only snatch 5 or 10 minutes at a time, have a smoke. Sometimes that quick surge is what you need and sometimes you'll realize it's been hours since you had a cigarette. Pick a couple of triggers, like driving to work or the morning coffee and substitute vaping for smoking for those times. Other than that, smoke whenever the urge hits you. If you peck away at those triggers you'll find your need to smoke decreasing and you won't be stressing over it.

Hi I hope this can help i had a hard time getting the vape that i like that would resemble the drag of a cig. I tried the protank and it was ok but could of been tighter draw for my liking, then i found the vivi nova mini with a reg. ego battery and the beauty ring nice and tight for i stiffer pull, with that and the fact that it gives you a nice hot vape and with the right juice a very nice throat hit. you may have to play around and find the set up that is best for you but i found the vapes that are more like how you drag a cig help ween you off. If you have the chance check out some vids on youtube indoorsmokers is a good one for ppl just quitting. I hope this can help you reach your goal. Best wishes!!!!

you can do it!!! this used to happened to me at the very beginning...

what worked for me was to keep a couple of tanks with me at all times, one with low nic for normal days and when I had a craving I would slap on the higher nic tanks... I would vape it until I did not want to even look at a pack of smokes... and then go back to low nic...

It worked charms for me. I am now down to 6 and 0mg nic. I started at 24mg and 18mg. its been 4 months since I had my last cancer stick.

Nic OD isn't even a concern with me. I've been known to go through up to 2.5 to 3 packs a day if it's a really rough one.
I'm not gonna quit vapin, I've already put too much money into it to drop it.
I just don't want to end up smoking and vaping.
if I can manage to get down to 3 death sticks (gonna give this name change thing a shot) a day or less by the 28th then my plan is to get a vamo and an as yet to be determined rta/rba.
It's rough though. My mind plays tricks on me, and im a sucker who usually gives in to what it wants.
I'll keep at it. It's good to know that others struggle with it. I read a lot of things where people are like, "I started vaping and immediately stopped smoking!". I suppose I expected it to be like that for me too. Shoulda known better, life ain't that easy.
so, I'll dig in and prep for battle.

Congrats for making the committment. I used to feel "odd" for still having a few a day; there were days I gave up on vaping altogether but like you, I've put too much money into this to go back now - and I really don't want to. I also can't afford to vape AND smoke. Just keep in mind that everyone is different and what works for someone else may or may not work for you. It's a trial and error process. The good part about vaping now is that it's so customizable that (I think) everyone can find what works best for them.

It's been a step by step process. Getting equip that I could use. If I didn't have it ready to go, then I'd buy a pack. I also discovered flavors were important because I'd naturally choose a good flavor over cigs. Easier said than done. Fortunatley I live in an area with a number of good b&m's and can test flavors first. My tastes change wildly and frequently. I find flavors I love to eat are not always the ones I like to vape. Some of that is probably due to being pickier about those I love to eat.

Howver my mood changes to the extent that even my non-smoking friends will tell me to smoke a cig. It "chills" me out. I can't seem to get around that. The best I've done with vaping has been with the help of WTA. It also cuts down the amount I vape too. I can put my pv down and walk away where otherwise I'm a non-stop chain vaper. It's been more important than upping my nic (which I've also done). I use a wide variety of nic levels and reg plus WTA now. I find first thing in the morning it's best to start out with WTA for me. That's a must and I do much better. There are 3 companies producing it now. I'm convinced there is more to this addiction than just nicotine, which is why the NRT products had no effect when I tried them. But everyone's different.

ECF has been an invaluable support and this is what has kept me vaping. Another thread you might be interested in is http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/pay-forward-pif/519384-still-smoking-support-chat-thread.html

I stopped cold turkey in December 2013, and what got me over cigarets was a kayfun and MVP 2...nothing else I found provide the convenience, vapor production and true smoking experience. So much so that I went from 18mg to 6mg juice one week after getting the kayfun...

Oh and vaping is definitely my new hobby. It keeps me interested and helps with me stay away from cigs and cigars

I'm still searching for the right juice...that's another story.

What I would do is bump your nicotine to a sensible amount, but also go hunting for flavours that you'll love. I know that the act of hunting for flavours, making judgements as to what flavour i want and doing things to distract me from smoking has helped as well as focusing on rebuildables, learning about vaping, etc.

I feel that understanding the depth of what there is to learn about vaping has put me off cigarettes for good. All that's in my mind is what to build when I get my next shipment of Kanthal, should i go SS mesh or cotton auto dripping, etc. Learn what vaping has to offer then it will become not just a habit, but a hobby too.

Hang in there!!! We are all struggling to do it "right"...the thing is, there is no "right or wrong"!! Lol almost 3 weeks stinky free and if my husband leaves an open pack of stinkies on the table, all I want to do is light up and smoke them all!!!! If it's an unopened pack, I'm fine, no problem! And I know how bad they will taste, I know how gross they smell. Do the best you can and start each day as a clean slate!
