My story is.....I had to quit smoking or my heart was going to explode. I'm a truck driver and out of shape. I work 7 days on 7 off and one day I decided I need to do this or I'll die. I ordered my starter kit, 5-6 flavors of juice and left for work with no smokes. It took me 3 days before I wasn't reaching for my chest pocket. I didn't feel Satisfied but I kept with it. It was just a mind thing. I was vaping 24mg so I was getting plenty of nic so all my issues were in my head. After the 3 days I was fine. I struggled with getting the right ADV but I wasn't smoking. My advice, get as high nic juice as you can stand and enjoy and just tough it out for 3 days, in that time your satisfaction level changes from analog to digital. for me after 3 days I was comparing different juices for satisfaction as opposed to different brands of menthol cigarettes
Awesome post! Sums up the "how to guit" issue.

Hey all.

New to vaping here, too. Actually my second time trying. I bought a setup at a local tobacco store on Father's Day 2013. I used it for a week or so. The juice that was recommended to me was 24 mg. (No idea what the VG/PG ratio was.) It had a massive throat hit that would make me cough more than ciggies ever did.

I recently decided to try it again. This time, I stopped into a local vape shop and they set me up with an ego c-twist with an evod. I asked a couple questions and determined that I needed to try cutting back on the nicotine to 12 mg and I opted for a 50/50 ratio juice. I tried a few flavors and found one that I really liked. That was on March 4th. I had three cigs left in my pack at that point. I smoked one that night, vaped the whole next day until I got a call from my ex-wife. (stressful!) Smoked the last two in my pack after that and haven't had any since.

I have since been fine-tuning what I enjoy in terms of gear and flavors. I ended up picking up an mvp 2 with the iclear 30 and it has been exactly what I needed.

I hope that you are able to keep the ciggies down to a minimum, OP. It really amazes me how much more I am enjoying vaping this time around.

this too for those that have trouble with 24mg right off the bat.

good job!

I feel your pain. I've been vaping steady for 4 years and for most of it vamped and puffed analogs. Like you I would do fine for a while and then go back. What finally worked for me was to keep a pack of analogs and lighter in the car, next to my recliner and by the front door. I always keep my e cig right next to me so when I get the urge to smoke and reach for the pack, I grab the e cig instead and that seems to do the trick.. One of my e cigs is no more than arms length away.

I keep reminding myself why it switched in the first place. I also have about 10 different flavors going and some high nicotine juice for those rough moments. I mix my own so have some pretty heavy duty juice :).. Keep pluggin away and you'll get there.

When I bought my set up, the local vape shop is next door to a tobacco outlet, when u quit smoking and switch over, you give them your pack of smokes and they put it on the door to their juice lab, needless to say there more packs on there every time I go in, it's awesome!

I wouldn't be frustrated at all. When I started vaping sometime ago I would do the same thing, you didn't mention your setup - I know when I got something that really delivered the nicotine strongly it helped vs the blu type and pen styles I was using. I think vaping helps a lot but you do still have to want to quit strongly and be dedicated...once your off analogs for about a week totally it starts getting easier, plus if you blow all your money on new vaping stuff (attys, batteries, mods, etc) it becomes a hobby and really helps keep your mind off smoking....well it did for me anyway
