OK, I thought DIYing would be a great way to try new flavors (and save a little cash), so I got all the stuff to do it...nic, PG, VG, bottles, flavorings, syrs, etc., etc., etc. I searched for recipes on various websites (including ECF) and started in. Three weeks later, I'm about to give it up. No matter the flavor, no matter the concentrations, I get very muted, sometimes even zero, juice flavors. Right after mixing or after steeping for a couple of weeks....nada. Obviously, I seem to be doing something wrong. I'm very frustrated that I can't seem to even mix a simple one-ingredient fruit flavor! What am I doing wrong?

I 2 am just learning ..the best I have found so far is Lorann Bavarian creme and Banana creme .I also use flavored stevia .have not had much luck with other flavors . Capellas are so-so . also u can use cotton candy for sweetener.I also do a 50/50 nicotine with 100% VG cause I like a lot of vapor and less throat .still trying others but the bAV.cREME IS REALLY THE BEST SO FAR.i'M TRYING TO GET A GOOD CHOCOLATE 2.

Flavoring concentration can vary quite a bit. Some flavorings are best at a couple of percent of the total mix. Others may go as high as 20%. Different lines of flavorings can vary quite a bit in their concentration.

Check around for lists (threads) that show suggested percentages for various flavorings...there are quite a few. Use them as a general guide and fine tune to your liking.

What does your stuff taste like without any flavoring?

I always wonder that whenever someone says ALL their stuff does or doesn't taste like...

My grandmother used to say that even a blind pig finds an acorn once in awhile, but I always thought that if the pig were in the ocean or in a desert, it wouldn't find any acorns. If the bases have something wrong with them, then flavoring is kinda' pointless. Like my pig in the ocean...

Some flavors I use just never go right I use a high Vg so a lot of them are light flavor but as time goes by they get a bit better and if I use too much flavor they seam bland .
Try this - I mix my base Vg nic and Vg at 8mg/ml you can mix as you like then I add 7% flavor apprentice peach
Let it stand two days and it's very good .
I shake it before each time I fill .
You can go up too 12% if you like it real strong
Try it and let me know what you think

I have a PG nic base. I usually try for a 50/50 mix, at 18%. I taste test them on a KP long barrel atty. I have not added any flavors above 20%. I am using LA's (which I won't buy again...too much alcohol, or candy tasting), but am also using FA. Harlan, I have an FA peach so I'll give your recipe a try. Hoosier, you have a point. I got my PG and nic base from RTSVapes. The VG I picked up at Wal-Marto. Thanks for he help.
