I don't know about you guys but I'm getting pretty frustrated with vapping. I can never seem to get the right performance out of my device. I never get the vapor production I'm looking for or right performance when I draw. I'm using a LavaTube with 2 different vivi nova tanks right now. One is a 1.8OHM coil, one has a 2.4OHM coil. Without goign out and buying a Provari, or Darwin any ideas on how to increase the current performance of my device? I'm debating buying a Vamo, so the question is what do I put on my device to get a decent performance? I'm not wild about straight up cartos and dripping always gets messy. I don't care how good you are at dripping, it will eventually get in your hands somehow. :p

Not very techy but I will say that vaping is a bit more fiddly than smoking. I think it is worth it due to me not smoking cigs and still feeling good emotionally and physically.

Hope you find the answer.

Have you tried the T3. I have the SI T3's and I like them.

I am using the vision Vivi nova tank and I like them too so....

It was about this time in my vape life when I starting buying different devices :) lots of them!

As far the vamo goes, I'm pretty happy with mine so far, the price alone sucked me in. But, it is what it is...an inexpensive APV that's good to experiment with. You'll find your sweet spot with something I'm sure.

What you have should be doing what you want it to do.

1) What generation of Lavatube do you have? Is it newer? Older? Black and plastic, chrome and shiny? When did you buy it? From where?

2) If you have a Lavatube, you'll be able to adjust your voltage. At what voltage is your current setting? With a 1.8 ohm head, I wouldn't fire it above 3.7 or 3.8 volts, max. With a 2.4 ohm head, you'll be safe between 4 and 4.5 volts, I believe. Give or take.

3) Don't shell out the money for a Provari or a Darwin until you figure out this stuff first. Why waste up to $250 when you're already upset over a Lavatube? Don't do it!

4) It's these times when I seriously wish I could *bamf* appear in a cloud of sulfurous smoke right beside you with an empty carto and a tank and show you how awesome these things really work.

BEFORE YOU WRITE ME OFF as a carto tank fanboy, I was RIGHT WHERE YOU WERE. I hated cartos. My post history attests to that. But then one day, my B&M store showed me how to properly prime and fill a carto tank. It was like the Hallelujah chorus came down from heaven in a shaft of golden light. No more Nova (Thank God!), and no more dripping.

If I were you, I'd try to locate a veteran vaper and pick their brain. If that's not possible, youtube the heck out of stuff. There is a learning curve, but once you jump it, you're good to go.

I do use different voltages for my different OHM coils. I honestly think it's just my Lava tube, I have a silver bullet that gives me better performance with my 2.4ohm coil than my LavaTube does at 4.6volts. It's a first gen lavatube. Silver metal sleeve. I'm not opposed to carto tanks, Cartos as is tend to be somewhat leaky and I hate that, also they don't give me the vape life of a tank. I like to set it up and leave it till it's empty. If you could recommend a decent carto tank for me I'll try it out. I had one way back that I loved, but I can't seem to find that exact tank again.

Hi - just butting in. I have 3 tanks from IBTanked and 1 from Valley View Vapes; each has pros and cons, but I'm happy with all of them.

I would say your LT is fine, and its the delivery system that isn't living up to expectations.

I am a broken record with this, but it was a game changer for me. Rebuildable Atomizers may be worth looking into. The performance I get from mine blows anything else I've tried out of the water. Maintenance is much simpler. Full control is absolutely awesome.

Can't go back to clearos (which I thought were a game changer over cartos) now. I'll use my VVN if I'm going some where that could threaten my nice gear. But other than that they stay in the tool box.

Initially went the RBA route to save money. Now its more about getting the flavor, TH & vapor I crave, the costs are just an epic benefit.

If I was still using a Vivi Nova, I'd be back on cigs too.

I agree, this is not the exact solution for the problem the OP has.

Cartos as is tend to be somewhat leaky and I hate that, also they don't give me the vape life of a tank. I like to set it up and leave it till it's empty.

There are certain rules I learned that have not let me down to this day when it comes to carto tanks:

CONCERNING THE CARTO - PRIMING:

Drip up to 30 drops of juice into the top of the carto. Don't drop directly down into the carto. Tilt it at an angle and go N E S W, or, in other words, don't drip in the same spot over and over. Twist the carto as you drip to evenly disperse the drops. Wait to watch the juice to soak in. After thirty drops, your carto filler should look like chilled ice. (FIRST MISTAKE: If you think you overfilled it, use it like a straw and GENTLY GENTLY GENTLY blow. If juice comes out of the bottom, you overfilled it, and GENTLY GENTLY GENTLY blow it out until it's gone.) Don't freakin' blow your lungs out (especially if you're ......!)

30 drops should sufficiently prime a carto.

SLIDE THE CARTO BACK UP INTO THE TANK FROM THE BOTTOM

DO NOT LOCK IT UP TOP YET!!!!!!!

Use your intuition when doing this next step; trying to type it up will make you and me both feel stupid...

Fill up the tank. At an angle. Don't get juice back into the carto.

LOCK THE CARTO UP. Put on your drip tip.

Screw the now primed and filled carto tank into your PV.

Take a couple (A COUPLE) of dry hits (aka, draw through your PV like you would if vaping, but don't press the fire button).

You should see bubbles coming out of that little hole in the carto. THIS IS NORMAL, IT IS OK.

Let the carto soak for a couple of minutes. Yes, more than one.

Fire it. It may taste funny for a second or two, but keep drawing. You'll know instantly if you did it wrong or not.

After that, if you're getting good draws, hits, vapor, and flavor, you're in like Flynn. All you have to do after that is keep the tank filled, and there are numerous ingenious devices made for this, and they are all super cheap.

WARNING WARNING WARNING

Do NOT lift off the top cap of the tank to add more juice. If you do so, you will most DEFINTELY flood your carto, as the air pressure from pushing the top cap back on will force air into your cartos, pushing juice where you don't want it to go. ALWAYS slide the carto down into the tank and fill from there, at an angle.

All of this took a while to type, but I learned the technique within five minutes, and it hasn't failed me yet.

Yeah, I've got to throw in with the rba crowd here. Dons of control over how it performs. I was frustrated with the nova and eGo too and switched to Lt + a rebuildable tank with cotton/bamboo blend wick+ dripper atty with same wick. The dripper only coast 20 bucks shipped and i take the wick out and dry burn every couple days. Can get one coil running perfectly for MONTHS!

Rocketpunk, excellent post! Could you maybe say just one of the 'numerous ingenious devices' for filling for us please? Having not used one yet, I'm unclear on that part.

I like these for only 2.99-

The Slap Yo Mama (it comes in stainless steel for a little bit more $) Delrin Slap Yo' Mama Multi-Purpose Adapter [SYMD] - $7.99 : Big Daddy Vapor

I use these, but with thick VG I wouldn't recommend them: Blunt needle drip tip: Blunt Needle Tip for dropper bottles - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes

And this little thing, which I haven't seen a review of: Smok tank refiller: Smok DCT Tank Refiller - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes
