I just bought the ViVi EPower Nova Kit. Link is here: COMPLETE E-POWER NOVA KIT and 30ml juice (Free priority shipping)

Kit:
smok ViVi Nova 2.0 ml tank
Has Drip tip
Original juice was 70% VG

Problem 1:
Battery life is short. Light begins blinking within an hour of moderate use. Tastes weird shortly thereafter. Vapor production drops until I put new battery in. (These are 1050 mah batteries which I thought were some of the best.)

Problem 2:
Hits harsh. After searching, I vaped Pure VG, no nicotine. Still harsh. Heavily diluted the nicotine to possibly 3% into VG. Still harsh. VG diluted with water. Still harsh. 1.8ohm heads... It doesn't matter if I hold the vapor in my mouth for 2, 3, 5, or 7 seconds.

Problem 3:
Vapor production is not that impressive. Even when I don't inhale it, still not that impressive. I'd like about 3x the production I'm getting. 1.8 ohm heads

It looks like I'm going to have to start over and buy a new one. Any recommendations to either remedy the problem or for a different PV that might produce a better vape, let me know.

Things I have tried:

Multiple heads
Trimming wicks

The batteries you buy should not be dying so quickly with a 1050 mAh so I'd be calling CCV and letting them know what is going on with those batteries. I prefer to buy genuine eGo products myself. Personally I don't like the vivi novas but you always need to wash out any tanks you buy. Harshness can be related to the nic level or simply a bad carto. I use genesis atties myself but I recommend and use the Evod clearomizers from http://www.electronicstix.com/products/kanger-evod-bottom-coil-changeable-cartomizer Great devices help too. http://www.carolinavapes.com/Joyetech-EGO-C-1000mah-_p_173.html
You can remedy vapor production by simply buying some decent juice. Of course juice will vary by taste so pick a few flavors you think you'll like. You can always just pm me if you need more help! :)
I would recommend getting some from these companies who are well known and have awesome juice!

Nicotine level is less than 3%, and I've tried 3 different heads. :(

Why don't you like the vivi novas?

I don't like the odd taste I get from the tanks plastic.
Nic can also give you a harsh taste or it could be whatever they mix or cut the base with.
Trimming the heads should have nothing to do with your taste unless they have machine oil on them which I'd doubt unless they have a greasy feel to them. You usually see that with atties.
Why did you buy a kit with rechargeable batteries?
How long have you been vaping?

I had a similiar flavor experience, but with an apollo extreme set up.
Horrible flavor that left a long term terrible taste in my mouth, made my lips numb, and even made some lip skin peel off (yuck). I tried a few tricks similiar to you, that i read about. No Luck.

I ordered a new bottle of e-liquid and wrote to Apollo support about it. They eventually responded that there was no way it was the liquid-end of discussion.

Meanwhile the new stuff arrived, I used the exact same set up, and everything was great. So yeah, it was the liquid.

The cheapest and easiest test is to just try a new or different batch.

im sorry for your bad experience..........i started vaping in Sept, moved onto an ego with a clearomizer from a 510 prefilled cartos type, i use at least 70vg and 6 nic cause i also like clouds of vapor...........it will take time and diff tries to get what you like, dont give up :) strangely i have only purchased the "kits" ego, and other than 1 vender all the batteries still work (crosses fingers)........i have used myfreedomsmokes, good prophets, aliceinvapeland, halo and the list goes on but then i want to try them all :) i have not had a bad experience with any of those venders so far..........also vaporjoes has specials you can check on ( i hope im allowed to name these and not be in trouble) theyre just the ones i have tried.........so far :) good luck to you :)

Why did you buy a kit with rechargeable batteries?

Isn't that the normal thing to do? I'm confused.

How long have you been vaping?

I had some smoketip ecigs but they didn't satisfy me, even at the highest strength.

I've had the ViVi Nova for about 5 days now.

I am also confused, but I think this thread may offer some insight:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...3596-e-power-ego-like-ecig-1050mah-why-2.html

I'm thinking that she prefers the proprietary eGo battery, which I'm assuming isn't technically a generic rechargeable battery. (eGo's presumably have better quality control, but some people debate that)

As a side note to anyone who may be able to help me:

I realized now that the battery hasn't been going dead. It was just blinking because of an auto shut-off thing to protect it from over heating. It does produce an "ok" amount of vapor. I can't drag any more without coughing. It might just be that the videos I'm watching they aren't inhaling deeply? I'd like to maybe double the vapor I'm getting now.

Also, I am going to try some new juice tomorrow. I'll let you guys know if that changes things.

2 more questions:

How do I tell which clearomizer will fit my set up?

What size is my setup? (ie 808, 501)

Its most likely a 510, you don't see many batteries advertised as eGo (be they genuine or not) that are anything other than 510. I would suggest getting a GENUINE joyetech ego twist and a GENUINE VISION vivi nova and I'm sure you will be more than pleased. Both of these can be found on gotvapes website

#1...you are using 1.8 ohms heads on the Vivis- makes for a warm/ harsh vape. Switch to 2.4 ohms heads.
#2...those are Smok Vivi Novas- some have reported problems with them. Vision (brand) Mini Vivi Nova are better.
So 2 choices- either buy a Vision Vivi Nova or buy some Smok 2.4 ohms heads or 2.0 ohms cartos/ delivery system.

Your PV is a 510 and will accept 510 threaded accessories.

All heads in that Kit are 1.8 ohms. As for nicotine level most vapers start at 18 or 24 mg (1.8% or 2.4%). You're beginning at just under 3% (30 mg)...I started at 36 (3.6%) mg. Are you getting nicotine OD headaches, racing heart, etc?

I am an avid Vivi Nova fan (the Vision Vivi's not the SmokTek) and every once in a while, I'll put in an atomizer head that makes the vape harsh, chemical-tasting, etc. It has been cured with just changing the atty head. $3-$4. I believe that the problem may be that bad atty has a coil that is wound too tight on the wick, or a wick that just isnt flowing well. Not saying that Chineese manufacturing plants dont have the best quality assurance, but...
Also when using the Vivi, I dont let my juice get below 50%, and swirl and tip the tank mouthpiece-down to make sure the wick is always wet. Remember, wicks, dont pull juice up like a straw, they distribute the juice evenly throughout the wicking material. Wetter is better.

did you smoke before you started vaping? those guys in the videos take long drags, much longer than I take. I also wonder if they inhale.

oh and PS, vaping isn't as easy as smoking, there will be a certain amount of fiddling...........

I figure I'll add some closure here...

Everyone was right! The 1.8 ohm is too harsh. I needed more practice vaping. I am going to order new heads, but I'm not having a problem with the system itself. I like the amount of vapor I'm getting now.

So much have I learned!

Thanks all.

Thank you so much for the update. There will be others that are searching for the same answer and you've given them the answer.
Cheers and the Very Best of Luck
