I don't see why you think it might be caused by vaping 3 months in? 3 days, maybe.... Did you change anything recently? In any case, I'm not sure if vaping would exacerbate your condition or not, but if you get a bit nic-fitty, I'd actually suggest nicotine GUM, as chewing it might help your ears, that's a fairly common remedy for clogged ears and when on airplanes so it certainly wouldn't hurt you any, in the short term.

Anna

Now that u mention it, I did increase my nic from .3 to .6. when. I was on .3 I don't remember having any discomfort or ringing in my ears. Ringing has dropped a lot in volume after stopping for about 2 weeks, but still hasn't gone away completely. So it's hard to say wether vaping caused it or not. Also, when I first started , I can say I over did it a bit. I was vaping all day, everyday basically. Had to refill tank sometimes twice a day.

When I was younger I had a similar experience with my ears. I went to the pediatrician and they told me I had too much ear wax. They took a bucket shaped to be pressed below my ear. Then they squirted water into my ears and with my head on its side all the excess trapped ear wax came out with the water. It worked but I did have some water in my ears for the next few hours. This is just a recollection from when I was much younger but this can be the cause possibly. I'm not a doctor, just sharing my experience.

It's not going to be anything related to vaping or smoking. The eustachian tubes I previously mentioned are tubes (one per ear) that connect the middle ear (just behind the eardrum) to the nasal cavity. They are what allows your ear to equalize during pressure/elevation changes. Sometimes they can become inflamed or blocked by mucus. When they are blocked your ears can't equalize and cause the exact symptoms you have listed. The most common causes are allergies and illnesses that cause runny, or stopped up noses. The excess mucus from the nasal cavity can block it. Also inner ear infections can cause this. Vaping and Smoking? Not really.

I understand what u saying and completely agree. Thanks for some confirmation. I really appreciate it. Although, I thought I did read somewhere that smoking could irritate our nasal cavity... And even in the manual of my vaporizer, it actually says that it could cause nasal congestion... So I was thinking along the lines that my problem could b from congestion? Possibly a combination of allergies and or smoking/vaping? I do appreciate your input tho. Thanks. It makes me positive about getting it resolved.

I had those same symptoms once back in the 90's. It was spooky. I remember if I tapped on my forehead with a knuckle it sounded like I was banging on a drum.

I had quit my job to start a business so I had no access to doctors at the time. It went away after a month or two.

Later I needed surgery and had to take a job again for the insurance. I asked my doc about the ear thing. He said it could have been initiated by a long list of stuff. I had been burning wood in a fireplace to save on electricity, that was on the list. Allergies. Sinus infections. Injury to the nose. Vaping wasn't around and he didn't mention smoking.

He also said that it can clear up on its own, or get worse. Long term it could damage your hearing, so see your doc.

I wouldn't worry about your mod manual. That comment was probably put there by a lawyer not a doctor.

Yeah. It was a long time ago, but my recollection is that it improved quickly in the first couple of weeks. Minor problems lingered for a while after that but it went away completely in the end.

My son used to lecture me about q-tips and show me horrific videos of earwax trapped in peoples ear canals and the resulting carnage when docs dug it out.... It was some pretty intense lecturing, immediately followed by a rather... abject call, in which the kid had used a q-tip improperly and got ear wax jammed in his ear canal, he needed to go to the doctor to have his earwax dug out.

One of my favorite phone calls.... ever. The joy of youth, LOL.

Just learned in my physiological psych class that you actually shouldn't put anything, including q tips, in your ears. It's very easy to puncture the ear drum in which case, would be incredibly painful and your hearing will never be the same.

But... I still use q tips.

I have had this problem for decades. In my case it's called Chronic dysfunction of the eustachian tube and is caused by allergies. I actually have to wear hearing amplifiers (similar to hearing aids) to hear normal conversations. There are so many causes of it from infections to esophageal reflux that if the problem persisits you need to see a doctor so you don't wind up like me.

I used to live in the east coast and smoke a couple packs a day. In the winter I got that a lot it sucks and feels weird. At one point some minor stuff like that and smoking lead to combining with a bit of dust from ceramics and not seeing a doctor and the next thing I new I could not breathe and now i have chronic bronxhitis. Im not trying to scare you, but if something is bugging you for more than a week it's usually good to see a doctor!!! Also I like to turn the hot water all the way up or boil a pot of water and make a towel dome over my head and around the sink or pot and steam all that yuckie stuff out

That takes me back. When I was a kid my mother did that to me all the time. She put something in the water as well. Maybe menthol. I hated it. Guess they didn't have so many drugs back then so people did what they could.

I hated vicks vapo rub and I still think it's best use is right below the nose, when doing an autopsy.

I did have this one house I used to visit on the reservation and it was so terrifying and unclean (puppies were nesting in the couches, old food everywhere, it was terrifying, and I did yearn for it then, but I was afraid I would offend some of the occupants. I did want to report it to the Health Department, but my supervisor wouldn't let me. :)
