I have a menthol e-cig and I'm having trouble figuring out when to change the cartridges. I was told that one cartridge should last about 4 re-charges. I've noticed though that it will taste fine even when the battery runs low but then as soon as I re-attach the cartridge after re-charging the battery it will start having a slight plastic/chemical like taste to it, but it still produces a lot of vapor.

Should I change it even if it is producing vapor? I don't want to waste them.

The brand is Super E-Cig. I think it's some kind of generic. It's sold in all of the smoke shops here but I can't find any info about them online and the packing is pretty plain with little information.

Sounds like typical lies told by some e-cig suppliers(not on ecf)"a cartridge is equal to 1-1.5 packs of cigarettes""cartridge is good for 4 recharges",who tests these?my experience is a cartridge is good for about 30 min.,tops,a regular size cartomiser is good for about an hour before I feel it needs to be topped off again.I know some people can use 2 or 3 cartomisers and last all day.If I tried that I would probably need at least 10,maybe 15.

Can you take the carto off and look inside? Does it look dry?

When flavor drops off, it's empty. When you start to get weird tastes, it usually means the carto is burnt.

I'm not sure what type of pv you have by the name. If you can determine what type of battery you have (KR808, etc.) you can buy empty cartomizers and fill them yourself. It's very simple to do and they last longer and taste better.

Hi Becka. Your model is probably RN4081. It could also be a 510. The Super E-Cigarette packaging has been used for several models. Can you post a picture of it and the carts?

I hope you bought some liquid? You'll need to add liquid several times a day to your cartridge or cartomizer (depending on what you got with the kit, can you tell us?). We call adding the liquid throughout the day topping off.

You can still get vapor even when there isn't enough liquid in the cart. That change in flavor is a signal to add more liquid.

If you have a model that is an atomizer (2 piece and the cartridge comes off), add a two or three drops of e-liquid to the inside of the atomizer. This little atomizer model is great for dripping in anyway! Then add liquid to the cartridge. I think the RN4081 cartridge pushes up from the mouthpiece. Put a bent paperclip in the mouthpiece hole and push up the interior cartridge so you have access to fill it easily.

If you have cartomizers, just remove the mouth piece on top and drip down the sides of the cartomizer (and blow out any liquid you get in the center of the cartomizer) or you can put liquid inside the silicone end caps that some with the cartomizer (called condoms) and push the battery connection side down into it to force liquid through the battery end to refill them. It's best to have several cartomizers prefilled and change them out throughout the day. Most people use 3 tor 5 cartomizers a day.

Ignore the manufacturer's instructions. Basically, they lie. LOL

If you are getting vapor with a low battery, keep using it... but I think you'll find more vapor/better flavor with a fresh battery and a topped off cart.

If you don't have e-liquid to refill, make that a #1 priority!!

Can you get cartomizers instead of cartridges for it and top off with juice as needed? I worry about those cartridges melting a little and inhaling something bad on a fresh battery. Not trying to be an alarmist. Cartridges are simply outdated with much better technology being available with cartomizers.

To be fair I have used only one cartridge when I bought my mall kit. I had that burning plastic event and headed back to the mall for cartomizers. They were $25 for a pack of 5 - yikes. But they worked 10x better. One cartomizer was NOT equal to a pack of cigarettes as I was sold/told. I switched to a (much!) better PV within a week or so.

:censored::censored:!!! I just popped the top off of this cartridge to see if it was dry or not and squirted it in my eye!! :censored: :censored: !!! I may be blind now, but at least I quit smoking, right. :censored:

Anyway, I don't know, it isn't dry but it does have a little brown spot like maybe it's starting to burn?

I can't tell. And, no I haven't bought any liquid. I guess I need to do that for the V4L cartridges I bought. I can definitely tell when those are out, because they are really strong flavors.

Here is a picture of the super e-cig that I have. I threw out the package already but here I have the box with the re-fill cartridges. The box said they are disposable so I didn't realize you could re-fill them, I am still learning all of that stuff.

When I first got it would last 2-3 days but I was still smoking analogs too. Now I'm only smoking the e-cigs and they last about a day, maybe a little more. So, I guess that's about right. I guess if it tastes funny I will just toss it and not worry about it. Even if I smoke one a day it's still cheaper then anaologs.

Maybe you can pick up a bottle of juice at the smoke shop or order a bottle from one of the juice vendors. Possibly you can remove the end cap and add some juice to make them last longer. Is it a cartridge or a cartomizer? Two piece or three. Sometimes the end caps are glued on cartomizers but you can sort of pry them off and add a little juice.

It's 2 pieces. I guess I don't know the difference between a cartridge or a cartomizer. It says disposable atomizer...???

From the looks of it it's an M103 that uses an atomizer and cartridge, your best bet would be to read through "The Wonderful World of Vaping". It'll explain the differences between e-cig models, atomizers, cartridges, cartomizers, and mods. Then do a little shopping through the suppliers list on the forum main page and you'll be good to go.

Here's the link to the WWV http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-4-6-buying-your-first-e-cig-little-guys.html

That link above is to Part 4... There's a picture of the M103 down the page a bit. Don's whole Guide is worth reading. Start here to read the whole thing (all 6 parts... get your glasses on, LOL).

Are these screw-on cartridges (which are actually cartomizers, not cartridges)? Or push onto the atomizer cartridges (which are called cartridge).

Most people here keep either damp with eliquid. With a cartomizer, it is done when it doesn't work vape well or taste good anymore, usually after 4-7 days of keeping it damp. Cartridges are never done - you can wash them, restuff them, keep using them.
