Try reducing the center hole in the wick. I found that volcanic rising of the heated juice cuases most of that popping and sputtering. When I roll the wick very tight with a very small hole that is reduced and true wicking (capillary action) takes over.
Sidenote: I found that one end of the tube is much tighter than the other. In disasspembling and reassembling I found myself having a very hard time putting the top/mouthpiece back in. After a while I took the tube off again and turned it over. It fit well on the base and the top nearly slid right in.
I bevel all my tubes so the top 0ring slides in easy. A full tank only lasts me about an hour so I have to take the top off often.
Makes perfect sense as I can see the volcanic action going on - was wondering as everyone in the videos seems to just slip it off the paper clip and have at it. I'll try rolling that hole well down. I suppose if the hole is virtually non-existent it wouldn't matter for the wicking, but I also thought it probably helped allow air down into the juice chamber if the second hole was blocked. Wish there was an easy way to put a one-way valve in the second wick hole to allow air into the juice chamber without allowing juice to bubble back up through it. I am seeing a lot of juice sitting in the burn chamber.
Has anyone one found the correct replacement tubing or a syringe that fits? Got one melting from chain vaping.
18Ga by 1" fits mine perfect for the syringe.

Two more ready for #500 SS wick. These makes a total of 15 for friends and family. Drilled out to 3/32, switched extender to pos and cut off neg screw. I am using the bottom air hole, actually feel it gives a better TH than a side hole.

Had mine going for about 4 hrs, drilled hole looks almost the same as the one on the right. I found the 400SS mesh is wicking so well it is flooding the top part of the tube & leaking out the hole to the battery end, even when Not in use!
Now I have somehow lost continuity on the positive pin between battery & top screw, not sure what happened but it was working fine, then it wasn't. I think the top cap may have pushed down on the screw when I was refitting it onto the tube & snapped the solder on the positive screw pin... PITA this thing is!
It was hitting like a champ when working though, so I will try to get it up & running properly, just going to take time to fix the continuity issue & the sort out the flooding. I'm thinking maybe 325 SS mesh might be better for reducing the flooding?
Either that or the neg screw could be causing problems because it contacts the wick & deforms it slightly?
NOE what ratio is your juice? 50/50. 70/30? I'm using 50/50 and have had VERY little excess flooding with #400.
Ok, just got one set up with 500 mesh, and this monster coil that meters out at 4.4 ohms. Yea, I might have too many wraps there. But, the burninator pumps 6v thru it just fine. I did the cotton wrap trick posted a few pages back on the mesh, fired maybe .5ml thru it just to get that awful mesh/cotton taste off it, and we are off to the races! No hot spots, no wicking issues, just clouds of vapor! The taste is a bit muted, but I figure that will decrease as time goes on.

I'm in a co-op for one of the Chinese 'DIDs'. They were delaying shipment because their SS wicks were shorting
. Everyone in the co-op was saying 'ship w/o the wicks!'

If the V2's have flat top screws, I'd try it again.
From the pics of the v2, is it me or do the holes look farther away from the post?
The wick set up is one that I haven't tried, it looks like 2 separate wicks coming from the tank and the coil ties them together.

I wouldn't say I have had any flooding issues, but I do find juice in the top chamber often. I attribute this to the vapor that is not extracted, once my draw is done, condensing back into liquid and collecting over time. I find if I draw the last bit out it don't seem to accumulate nearly as much.
HHHMMMM Might want to try the 325 and if it gets worse then try #500. I know with 50/50 I tried 250 that a freind had and it was not wicking very well.

How the heck does one remove the standpipe - you seem to call them "posts" - from the lower base? I mean, ok - I got ticked and honked the top-plate to remove it, but I saw a line indicating a press-fit.
If I can get the standpipe out, I might be able to cobble a better mod for the !@#*&^! gizmo.
