The original coil that came with it no good for me and the wick to thick for the holes.
Airflow is fine with my 510 adapter.

Have had mine for a while and now about 40ml later with my own wick and coil it still is working great and my vivi nova's 2.0 and 2.5 arer no longer used.
I just ordered 2 more of the smoktech tanks and more kanthal , german silica wick and some silver wires for the screw leads to keep making my own wicks for this tank.
The original coil that came with it no good for me and the wick to thick for the holes.

Ok got mine in today, and it took me less than 25 minutes to mod it to a genisis atty.

First I removed all the screws, wick, coil and tube. Next I enlarged the hole by the neg post with a 3/32" drill bit.

I then cut the neg scew in half and moved the neg thumb nut to the pos post.

I then made a 35mm wide x 25mm tall wick and used NR silver wire from the kanthal at the wick to the center positive post, the SS mesh was wrapped around a 1/16" drill bit.
IMG_0255.jpg

I then drilled a 3/64" hole in line with the coil.
IMG_0256.jpg

Last, I then soldered the bottom 510 center post shut.

Vapes good at 2ohms and 4.2 volts!

Great DIY genisis atty for the cost.

Thanks Dan. Mine still haven't gotten to me to try.

Question - why did you close the 510 post hole?

Because I use a provari, and others (including the youtube poster) said it does not work with a provari (no air flow) Sooo I drilled a 3/64" hole in the tube at the same heigth as the coil, and bonus to soldering the center pin hole close, no leaks.

Just did your setup. Thanks for the pictures they were a great help !!

Works really good.

I left the second old wick alone using it for refills. Did you seal that hole off or left open?

Left the air hole on top open (should have pushed silicon in it) and left the second wick hole open for juice filling :)

yes that is what I did filled the air hole and left the second wick hole open for filling. Do you plug after filling or just leave open. For now mine is open seems to work fine that way

Do you notice any leaking, into the top of the tank, from that hole when it is left on its side & full of juice, with the hole at the 6 o'clock position??

I leave it unpluged, helps the air flow for wicking. And I leave mine standing too.

Dan, how are you securing the negative connection? I don't see the screw you cut in half in the picture where the coil is firing. Can you post a top-shot of the whole setup? Also, why the NR wire from the positive terminal? Is that specific to this change-over mod or is it more effective to reduce the lead size of the resistance wire by using silver wire?
