Each has his own opinion if it wicks better and or tastes better, I would leave that to your taste buds. After break in I can't tell the difference and every new wick/coil has a strange taste at the beginning. The slight differences some can detect amazes me, many should be professional tasters, I understand it pays well.:)

OK I bit the bullett and tore the first one apart and this is what it looks like. The top is pressed inside the shaft that surrounds the wire that keeps shorting out.

The question is how would you fix this problem? Does anybody know where I might get some all thread that small? If I could figure out away to make this a solid post that I could screw the top post onto it after I put it back together. I could still use the rubber isolators that come on it. Any suggestion before I melt it dor and make a ring out of it, lol

Can't really see anything because of the small pic size. Is the wire broken? If so, it's possible to just solder it back on. Once you do that, check it for shorts, press back together, and epoxy that sucker...:)

3 time I tried resoldering it. Thers not much space between the solder and the sides of the tube.

Good Lord. I used 2 of these tanks so far, one stock, and one "modded" genny style, except I have no mesh yet, so I just wrapped a coil onto the wick that came in it, vertical style. Drilled out the hole to 3/32", swapped the screws, hole in the PP tubing, soldered the center pin shut.

I can come to only 1 conclusion. This wick doesn't wick for $*^! But I tell ya, I soak the coil with a few drops, hit the button, and that hit will just about take my head off. 4 hits like that, in about 3 minutes, and I almost feel a buzz. And the flavor! It would be like the difference between smelling someone peeling an orange across the room, and doing a line of grated fresh orange peel.

BAM!

For a quick trial, take a 100% cotton cottonball and pull-twist-roll a wick from it. Try that in there in place of the silica wick ;).

I've been racking my brain all afternoon, lol. I think part of the problem is that the hole for the post is CLOSE to the side of the tube. The wire in this tank is THIN and not got enough insolation on it and shorts it out. The copper wire is 1 thing floating around in my head also. I'm going to take it to a freind tommorrow and let him look at it and see if we can put our heads together and try to figure something out. I HOPE, lol

When I first got my tank I pulled and my wire broke off, from inside the tube like yours.. Well it was really easy to fix, take a screw driver or something and but it on the pin that it is to be soldered to and push it towards where the mouthpiece would be, and it will just pop out, make sure you don't lose the rubber grommet that holds it in place.. like on a regular atomizer, or cartomizer (if you ever took one apart).. it looks just like a cartomizers center pin.. Solder that side first with a slightly longer wire, put rubber grommet in place, make sure you seat it all the way down flush with the hole, then slide the wire back through the hole, push the positive pin down.. solder the center pin that connects to the PV bend wire a little to fit inside tube, and press it all back in place and you are done :D I know it might be a little confusing through text, but if you think it is needed I will take mine apart, and do pics :) Just send me a PM, and when I get time I will take pics of step by step and post it on this thread

Done that already YourDog, but the rubber grommet split when I took it apart. The wire thats in it has VERY LITTLE insulation on it and the top post is VERY close to the side of the tube. Little insulation on the wire and it being right next to the tube is the problem. But thatnx for the help. I'll let you all know what happens. And thats why I made the post earlier about holding the Post with a pair of pliers when tightening and loosening the screwes.

Oh yea, I went through about 3 of those grommets lol, I have old carto parts.. I just replaced it with on that I had sitting around.. And I just did a quick fix when I did mine.. but I am planning on opening it back up, and putting heatshrink tubing around that solder location..

Yea I'm going to see my local store tommorrow and replenish my Juice and might pick up a few Cartos for the grommets. I quit using Cartos along time ago, lol. I'm not giving up YET, lol

Hehe, well I haven't quit carto's yet but I keep all the good stuff from them.. I always said "I never know when I am going to need these grommets or this center post.." And look what happened ;) :D

Those fish need a rest.

Lol! I didn't even notice fish..

All I'm trying to say is it's not a genesis atomiser.

I could take a sock and put it on my hand, it's still a sock, not a glove.

ahahaha good one! LMAO, great sense of humour. Not being sarcastic to anyone, but this thread is very interesting.
I couldn't afford the Genisis coop prices, so made my own.
SS Wick & 32 Gage Kanthal or NiChrome wire works for me!
I will pick up one of these, however, once they become available - looks very interesting.
And I know for sure, with all you wonderful creative people here on ECF... somebody WILL modd this thing and show us how it's done!
Waiting...................

I drilled out a wick hole to 3/32" on my second tank. Made a short fatty rolled cotton wick, 4/5 wrap of 34g kanthal near one end. Switched the spacer to the + post, but didn't cut the - screw. Popped the wick in like a SS mesh wick ;) and folded the end of the cotton wick back over the coil. Added a mL or so of juice to the tank.
Took five 2-3 second puffs, one right after the other. Good vapor on each one. Checked the wick, perfectly fine. Did 8-10 puffs one right after another (no inhaling :D); checked wick, still good.
What can I say but - Cotton Wicks Rock!

I have a bunch of pre-made SS wicks from when I was trying to rebuild CE2s. That will be the next experiment.
