The question is how would you fix this problem? Does anybody know where I might get some all thread that small? If I could figure out away to make this a solid post that I could screw the top post onto it after I put it back together. I could still use the rubber isolators that come on it. Any suggestion before I melt it dor and make a ring out of it, lol

Just thinking out loud here, but model airplanes use 2-56 threads for pushrods (from servo to control surface), and I've also seen all-thread in that thread size. Not sure if that's small enough.

Another option is to just replace that thin wire with some 20 gauge automotive wire? It usually has some pretty thick and resilient insulation.

For a revised version of the Smoktech Vivi, I'd like to see an extra ring/gasket in the middle with a seperate top section of the tank. That would make servcing these puppies a lot easier. ...less need to empty and take apart completely.
I agree CoolBreeze. We are trying a solid post set up with a peice of a Gym Clip soldered in from the bottom. Soldered it to the top peice then rand it down thru the bottom post and soldered it in place. Now instead of breaking the wire it will just spin the post all the way thru. Insulated the peice of gym clip inside the tube but it was'nt really needed, lol. This guy is a Genisis GURU, so this was right up his ally, lol. I'll let you guys know how it does later. got company coming right now. So back to my rebuilt Stardust for now, lol

I agree completely but, it's only $15. This is pretty much what you're taking about but, look at the difference in price!!!

SS mesh wick. 3/32" hole, no angled hole, switched spacer, did not cut neg screw. I just tightened the pos leg of the coil to slightly bend the wick over.

Working fine :D

This wick was from some long ones I had made months ago when messing with rebuilding CE2s. So I actually cut one in half for the ST tank.

Blue wick, or is that just distorted color?

PS Going shopping for tools this weekend?

Distorted color :D, they're in a heavy duty zip lock bag. Some are oxidized some not.

Dumb question: Could you clean a mesh/coil combo by torching it again? Or would it be possible to clean one using an ultrasonic cleaner, or do you think either of these methods would ruin the oxidizing on the mesh?

I think I burnt the cotton wick I was using, just tastes like burning now, even if I saturate the wick with a few drops 1st. The next wick I make, I'll use the larger wick I got, see if that makes a difference. I don't think I had any wicking issues tho, per se, but I didn't really have much taste either....?

Well got the first one redone and Vaping like an old Stem Train, lol. I delivered it to my buddy and his first hit he coughed his head off, lol. My buddy had the second one going good but he left it on the counter at home so He said he'd bring it over mon afternoon. So all 3 will be good. He had a GREAT IDEA on the solid post idea. Worked like a charm, lol And O M G the taste is WICKED, lol
