I don't think they chased them to the top, rather it was the original tapping. We're still waiting on the chased thread parts to get back from emachine. If you did get some more tubing I would very much appreciate it as forwarding to Poland of a 6 or 8' section would suck. PMing you now...

Yeah I asked earlier if they understood that only the bottom half inch of threads are used. But this thread moves fast and I think my question was missed.

Over the weekend, I stumbled across a piece of clear plastic tubing that I had purchased at Ace Hardware for some long-forgotten project. Turns out, it fits the GTUS and the GLV perfectly, with no need for the solder dimples. It's a little thick and sticks out beyond the base, but it works. I would post pics, but I left it at home. I will post some later. It's the clear, flexible tubing, which you can buy very cheap in short lenghts. I'll post some pics when I can.

You mean vinyl tubing? That sounds rather soft, plus it comes on rolls and I wouldn't want to try straightening it out.

Yes, the vinyl tubing. It is soft, but it doesn't really matter since its not holding juice. Cut to short lengths, it is pretty straight. Its probably not perfect, but it is cheap and easy to get and works fairly well.

dont get me wrong, love the SS mesh wick. Amazing flavor. But couldn't get but one hit when using the drip top. Now I can pour, yes pour not drip, some juice and it has no problems wicking up the juice on the bottom. You can actually fill it to almost where the juice touches the coil, just don't tip it over. Next I might try a SS wick wrapped around some siica that mops up the juice on the bottom.

murdock the first picture is a little fuzzy what am I looking at

It is just silica with a 2.5 nicrome coil. I kept the silica long to hold as much juice as possible and left a considerable amount on it on the base to soak up all the overflow.

I was going to run to folds of ceramic quick along the top of the stainless steel wic wrapped with a non conductive material 5 twist tire some things and then allow the excess from the west to drape down into the top of the base maybe is much is 2 or 3 inches of wishing material down wrapped up in the bottom ........

on a side note has anybody ever done a side by side wicking test silica versus ceramic to see which 1 wicks faster . take to pieces of wic different materials same length and drop them into 2 separate bottles of juice same consistency and observe which wic soaks the top first

Since we are talking about wicks, I will throw out an idea that I have been kicking around in my head but will never get around to testing it. Anyway, has anyone heard of aerogel? It is supposed to be very porous and very resistant to heat.

It just an idea, I don't even know what it is made of and if it would be safe to vape. Or how it would react in the presence of juice. Like I said, just an idea that I will not have time to research. So feel free to research if you like.
