You read my mind Dan, I was going to suggest making a ridge in the cover for the spike plate to seat against in the cover and we could get the plate from a type B Atty, but as usual your idea is better. If I understand what I'm looking at the spike is a permanent part of the coil cover? Does that mean no insulator? I oxidize the entire wick anyway so that wouldn't matter to me. Great idea, I was worried how that was gonna work!

Yes the soft would be perferred as it seals better.
But, I have solve the T-tank problem by adding the T-tank puncture piece. This will not inhibit regular tank operations when not using the T-Tank adapter. Mock up Pic:

This will allow for normal tank and T-Tank operations. Just remember to puncture the hole in a new T-Tank before using as the wick extends out past the puncture device.
