@BillW50
I have the Legend and the Aegis 100W. Both are stellar devices. I have downloaded the firmware for the legend and have had nothing but great experiences with both. I use these mods for camping, fishing, canoeing, heavy yard work, anything I dont want to bring my higher end devices out for and they serve their purpose exactly how I want them to. Can I pick them apart by comparing them to dna devices? Sure. But why? If I dont like something, I dont use it and certainly wont buy multiples. But I am aware that there are certain things that are important to others that aren't as important to me and on the flip side, whats important to me may not even be considered by someone else. When I bought these mods, I had no expectation that they would preform like my mods that cost 10x that. I was pleasantly surprised how often I reach for these though. I'm sorry you dont care for your Aegis's. Maybe its time to list them and move on. Maybe you could use the funds to find something that is more up your alley. Sounds like you like the Gbox. Grab another and sing its praises! (on the Gbox thread)
That is great TwistedThrottle. Although I have one question for you: "Do you use TC"?

yup. On the legend, after the firmware upgrades and on the 100W in TCR. Nice thing about them, if the stock TC values dont work for you, you can head over to TCR and modify them. I run the Legend as TC dual coil and for the classic, its low power mesh that does it right for me. Both are topped with the Themis. If you havnt upgraded the firmware on the Legend, I suggest you do it. I didnt have "problems" before the update, but it preforms better after. Better battery, better TC, better all around.

Did you download the firmware for the Legend? Note that the way Geek Vape does TC is different than that of Evolv or Yihi, its a different algorithm. Probably one of the big reasons for the price difference. What I have found with the legend, be ready to draw with the push of the go button. Exotic coils or coils that take an extended period of time to warm up seems to throw it off. Simple coils or mesh seem to shine. Right when the go button is hit is when the algorithm kicks in. On my DNA's, I can hold the go button down, take a breath or two then draw and it works. Thats not how this device works. Its not broken, its just different. Hope this helps.

I am the only one in the world it seems that can't get an USB connection.

I am familiar with both.

Ok generally I use a Crown 1 with SS316L dual coils. They use SS with nickel legs. On DNAs, YiHis, and everything else a TCR of .00125 works almost perfectly. So I set the Legend for a TCR of 125. And I have to fire it for at least 5 seconds before the temp is even close to the temp that I set. But that first swing 70F high already burnt the juice and the cotton and now it tastes bad. :(

Ooohh, ya. Not good. I hate when you are expecting TC to act a certain way, then you end up with a lung full of nasty. YUK! I would encourage you to keep trying with the update. Watch the youtube vids and follow to a T. That was the only thing I didnt particularly care for about this mod was the steps you had to follow for the update. Kinda a PITA. Once done, it probably wont need to be done again though. You might want to disregard what your other mods are set to for TC and experiment with this as a new animal. Start lower and work your way up. I think mines set to 112 or somewhere around there and its different than on the Aegis 100W. I think thats set to like 95 or something weird. The numbers don't correspond to what I use with my DNA's or Yihi's though. Also, you might want to try straight SS or straight nickel. Not sure if this mod can recognize multiple materials for TC. Sure it will fire, it even fires kanthal in TC :shock:

@BillW50 I know you won’t take my word as fact because you seem to think I am inexperienced and instead of engaging in a intellectual conversation where both of us may come out learning something, you take my words out of context and try to use them against me. So here is an interview with John, one of the brilliant minds behind Evlov who does touch on the complications of TC and drop in coils, especially ones that mix materials like SS and Nickel.

I also agree with @TwistedThrottle in that you cannot use TCR values from a DNA as an example, to another device like the Legend. Perfectly ok to experiment but they are 2 different devices that could have different algorithm’s as to how they handle TC.

Lots of mods don't do TC well until they are updated. The legend is one of them. After the update my battery life is heaps better and I don't regret doing it. There are many, many mods that get great updates released so I don't see the legend as a negative for that reason anyway.

I will say, no mod is for everyone, the TC sometimes requires tweaking in the Legend. With that said, it's not a DNA mod, I don't expect it to be perfection itself in TC. I wouldn't expect that in any mod.

What the legend does is what it says it does TOTAL durability in a really fantastic package.

No mod is for everyone @BillW50. If it's not for you, it isn't. It is a great mod for a lot of folks, myself included. But, I don't expect ALL of my mods to be perfect in every area, I think all of them have flaws and high points. But, I get it, it's not for you, and that's totally okay with me. I'm sorry you don't like it but no need to argue it for posts and posts. Really.

Took me 3min max to update the legend on win 10, dunno what all the fuss is about.
Once I found the usb conflict on my Windows 10 laptop it was quite simple to update. The usb conflict was a huge PITA. Had to delete 2 of 3 usb ports to resolve the conflict before the laptop would recognize the connection.

When I ordered the second Legend I started by deleting the usb ports, way easier that time around.

I posted my fix to Geekvape's FAQ section and the Legend thread here to save others the pain.
