Have you tried the usb cable that came with the Legend to reach into the deeper socket of the Legend? I assume doesn't work means no connection at all, doesn't show batteries charging, not recognized by you PC? WIll show batteies charging with the orignal Legend cable plugged into a wall wart?

I think its the fact you bash it for no other reason than you cant figure out how to update your device(s) then shelve it. (Why'd you buy two?)
Well I wanted to be the first one to have one. So I preordered one from China. Then others started to get one and my patience ran out and eciggity had them in. So I ordered one and both that one and my preordered one came in the mail the same day. :(

Or that you can't set it to the same settings as a DNA device in temp control and have it behave exactly the same way.
Huh? How is temperature control supposed to work? You have TCR (or curves), wattage, and temperature controls and that is all. You have to get all three the way you want it to vape.

When offered help, you make it very difficult to converse with you due to the fact you place blame on others rather than trying a new way of doing your way.
Who have I blamed, besides Geek Vape for making worse products this year than last year?

It seems like the majority are having good experiences, so that is what we are hearing about mostly.
Only 20% of vapers even care about TC. That leaves 80% only caring about decent power and that is all. And as far as I am concern, it works fine for variable wattage.

Fingers crossed for ya, buddy.
Thanks and I appreciate it. :)

Yes I did try their USB cable and I got nothing (no charging, PC recognition, etc). I'll try again in the next few days and update everybody. I seem to recall the tiny board on both was too close to the edge of the socket to allow the plug to slide on. Plus the thickness of the insulation isn't helping me either.

Once I found the usb conflict on my Windows 10 laptop it was quite simple to update. The usb conflict was a huge PITA. Had to delete 2 of 3 usb ports to resolve the conflict before the laptop would recognize the connection.

When I ordered the second Legend I started by deleting the usb ports, way easier that time around.

I posted my fix to Geekvape's FAQ section and the Legend thread here to save others the pain.

This is sound advice and not just for Win 10 but all versions of Windows. USB is very reliable, but conflicts can and do happen – this does not mean the device (slave) is defective or the computer (master) is not working correctly – just that the 2 where unable to establish that needed handshake.

Its a tight fit, but it works. the rubber stopper obviously needs to be all the way out of the way(careful not to rip it out completely) in order for the stock USB plug to (just barely) fit. If you aren't getting the connection tone, chances are the USB isn't all the way in the hole. You get a tiny but satisfying click when you get it just right. I did the Dovpo update last night and was very similar to the Legend with holding some buttons and following the steps closely. You mentioned that you have updated the Dovpo already which makes me wonder if maybe you got your USB chords mixed up. My legend chord is flat and white with a itty bitty head. None of my other USB's fit in the Legend. If you still have the packaging for both of your Legends, and one of the chords still is in the box, try that one. Maybe the one you were trying is dead or maybe you accidentally grabbed the one for the gbox. Looking forward to your update for us. Better battery life and more important, better temp accuracy. It's worth the hassle, I promise!

DNA devices are "smarter" than a lot of others in that they can recognize mixed metal materials. Have you tried anything other than the Crown with the drop in coils with mixed metal materials? I only use coils I build myself with SS316L. I mainly use the Themis on top when using temp control. Maybe that is the difference we are experiencing.

Well I haven't found much a problem on nonDNA devices. You just have to figure out the correct TCR setting for the mixed material. Like those Crown 316L drop in coils with Ni200 legs, a TCR of 125 (.00125) works amazingly well. In fact I figured this out on an Aegis 100W actually and I used this on everything (GBOX, YiHi, etc), including older DNAs without Replay.

TwistedThrottle and sdennislee, thank you very much for your help. After 5+ months using them as doorstops, I finally got both of them updated to v1.2-0710. And after TC vaping on them solid for the past 3 days, I now find them quite as respectable mods. Maybe I might buy more now. :)

Now that you have TC working on the Legend maybe you will help me learn TC when I get ready to try it on my Legends.

Sure no problem whatsoever sdennislee! :D

There are two ways to vape in TC. One is what virtually everyone does and it seems over 80% of vapers doesn't like (and they skip out on TC) it is what Evolv calls temperature dominant. This method slams the coil straight to the temperature that you set.

Most power users likes it the other way and it ramps up to temperature or sometimes over. What is nice with this style of vaping is not all juices taste the best at one set temperature. As some juices has more than one flavor and they hit the best at their individual temperatures. So most power users find this very attractive and skip out TC.

But Evolv calls another way called power dominant vaping. You don't need a DNA mod or anything, it just depends on the ratio between the temperature and power settings to switch from one to another. Basically the power setting is much lower so it doesn't slam straight to temperature but ramp up just like power mode alone. But unlike power mode alone, it will never get too hot and most likely never give you a dry hit. :)

Appreciate the explanation @BillW50. I bought a KangerTech TC set up (TC 75)a couple years ago and just never made the switch.

I've been contemplating the purchase of a new RTA that will allow me to use a TC compatible wire. Most of my current tanks are sub ohm drop in coils. The only ones I have with TC coils are Kangertech TopTanks. Can't remember the last time I brought one of those out of storage. I'll be back to you for help once I purchase a new RTA.

Hey guys, I'm thinking of dropping the ball on the Aegis Kit but I'm undecided on if I should buy the standard edition or wait for the Limited Edition to hit and get an Alpha Tank with it instead.

The only difference in the mod from what I can tell is that this floats while the first legend doesn't and it weighs significantly less than the Standard Edition.

1. About how much less does the Limited edition weigh?
2. I kind of like heavy mods.. Does the regular edition feel good in the hand weight wise? I own a Gpriv 2 Lux, so I was wondering if was anything like that?
3. Do you guys have experience with the Alpha Tank? How does it compare to the Aero Mesh tank? I heard a few reviewers were saying the Aero Mesh tank has somewhat of a tight draw?

I plan on deciding by the end of the night. Let me know what you guys think I should do. Wait for the limited of go ahead on the current kit? I understand I could just buy the mod seperately and get an alpha to go with it but I love that orange color scheme!

Thanks fellas!

Only floats in salt water, will not float in fresh water.

@Just Want To Quit
1) Aegis Legend without batteries 204g
Aegis Legend Limited Edition without batteries 150g
Makes the Limited Edition roughly 26% lighter

2) The regular edition feel great in my hand but I like heavier/bigger mods, I have big hands.

3) Can't help with the Alpha tanks yet. Mine arrived Friday but haven't tried it yet, still have a few days left on current tank/coils before I'll be ready to load up new coil/tank.

I have tried the Aero Mesh tank, did not care for it. I thought the flavor was weak compared to both the Vaporesso NRG and the Freemax Mesh Pro. Based on other users I have high hopes for the Alpha tank. Hopefully I'll get around to trying this week.

Thank you for all that! If the tank doesn't sit well with me, I'll move onto an Alpha or Falcon if needbe. I was going to purchase this from element vape since they are a licensed distributer but I got a letter in the mail from them talking about a data breach? I'l find it elsewhere.

If I have any trouble with that firmware I'll be back.. I have to go to the library to do the update as I have denounced Microsoft and their Windows PC's from my life completely. lol

Thanks again, Hopefully the update will go smoothly.

GeekVape supports firmware updates for Mac. I asked them via email for a Mac version and they sent me one, now the Mac version is listed on the site for download.
