I see people putting the wicks right to the bottom of the tankbi thought that was a big no no. I was under the impression that you just wanted to put a tiny part of the wick to stopper the hole and tilt it when you hit it to wet the wicks

Ive been wicking to the bottom. And tilt when the tank is nearing empty to ensure the wick is saturated. Been working fine, never a dry hit when using kanthal.

But think I'll try your method next rewick ... That'll give a lot more juice capacity without all that cotton in the tank!

My first Genny styled RTA was the hcigar fodi and if I ran cotton anymore then just a smidge into the wicking holes with cotton it was dry hit city.

I have not used rayon in mine as of yet but I am loving the avocado except for the lack of a refilling port and the fact that with a huge appetite and rather small tank size has made constant refilling a necessity. She sure has some great flavor though !!!

Was really liking the avacado but now I'm loving it.
No issues at all with wicks down. Superb flavor with single coil, 3mm i.d., 6 wrap 26 Guage nichrome80. Better than with duals. Most likely because the insert reduces chamber size a bit. It never produced this much flavor and vapor with my kanthal on a similar build. Hmm? Is it the nichrome?

Well 1st day with the avocado did not go so well, build was easy enough, but ohms kept jumping all over the place, vaped on it for about 20 minutes and the tank was half empty already, didn't have time to look into why the ohms was jumping, so been put up till I get more time, but looking how fast that tank drains, wish they had done it as a full size tank, may be pretty easy to fill, but don't want to be filling it every hour though.

Got mine working right now, had to unscrew the 510 pin a few turns to make a good connection with my mods, have to see if can add a oring as now pretty loose and sure it will screw itself back if unscrew from the mod.

Stayed with the same clapton coil, but this time I only put one side of the wick to the bottom of the tank, and also trimmed the wick, so not so thick in the tank, then sniped the other just at the top to block the hole, my thinking will be a little more juice capacity with not so much wick in the tank.

This thing produces huge clouds and I am not a cloud chaser, more of a flavor chaser and it does the flavor really good too, think this tank can cover most peoples styles of vaping, but sure does drink the juice though.

Well, after reading this thread I had to get my very own Avocado. It came today and I built a simple dual coil setup with 26ga Kanthal, 3mm ID at .4 ohms. I wicked it with cotton and have the tails just long enough to pass through the deck maybe 1/4" or less - you can't see the cotton looking through the glass tank.

I have to say that I am very impressed. I'm only running it at 35 watts, and I have not had any issues with wicking - no dry hits. I just have to turn it over every few hits to keep the wick wet.

So far, loving it. Simple to build and vapes fantastic. Very much like a dripless RDA. I like the low profile too.

I noticed there was oil on those screws. I cleaned them and the post holes thouroghly with rubbing alcohol. Also think they should be stainless not black coated or whatever they are. My tank heats up easily, course I'm hitting it alot set at decimal 32 with 24ga kanthal 7 wraps dual. Flavors good but goes fast like you say.Tends to spill if put on its side at all. Not to bad for the price but not going on the trophy shelf either. Going to try the Griffin here soon. I think I'm going to get stainless grubs for the advocado. McMaster Carr has them when last looked if interested. Hope your ohms jumping stops. Good luck

Nice!!! It wicks so well, I was able to trim about 1/2 the density of the wick away, you can fit way more juice in there then. I am using rayon, but I think thinning would be good with cotton too. I love my avacado! My fused claptons have pleNty of room, 3.5 mm Id.
I'm going to try that bc my avocado is wicking well it's just not flowing juice to the front of the tank.

mine isnt making connection to any of my mods? check atomizer error? unscrewing the the screw isnt helping?
I gave mine a full teardown and reassembling, and ensured I tightly screwed the tank and deck before securing the center pin/nut. Mine has been steady since.

So, I got my "Avocado", I quote it since I´m not sure if my vendor is trying to scam me or if something just went wrong during the machining process.

In the pictures below you will notice how A) my box is all cardboard, and B) there is no airflow, as in non. Either the bellcap is wrong, or they just forgot to drill it.

Any theories, similar stories or feedback will be appreciated.

So far I've just tried it single coil, which I'm digging right now, may try duals over the weekend.

Definitely like this atty, never really tried anything quite like it, but so far it's going well.
