I don't understand why everyone cares about the insulator of the Crius having a hairline crack. I think its an OCD type of a deal because it wont effect the vape at all. There are two giant 4mm holes right next to the hairline crack and you guys think the leak will be from the crack? If your build and wicking is sound there will be no true leaking from the Crius with a cracked insulator or not. And the tiny amount of "leaking" from the Crius is because there is a seam between the JFC and AFC. Any condensation that forms "leaks" from that seam. The reason I put "leaks" in quotation marks because its hardly even noticeable. It seem that the Griffin has that seam as well so it might "leak" just like the Crius even if it has a Peak insulator.

I, for one, got a broken ceramic chip in my mouth from the broken insulator.

For another thing, if I buy a new product, I expect it not to be broken when I recieve it. Even if it worked fine (which mine doesn't), it would still be broken. Thats not acceptable in my book.

If I bought any other product that had visible damage (whether it affected performance or not) I would return it.

The leaking may not be caused directly from a cracked insulator, however, the deck is press fit and it seems that the 510 pin and insulator are partially responsible for the structural integrity of the deck. The sloppy fitment between the jfc and afc rings may have something to do with inadequate pressure caused by an improper press-fitment that also may be causing the cracked insulator.

I actually removed my shattered insulator (that came out in a hundred pieces) and made an insulator out of JB Weld just so I could still use the Crius until my replacement arrived. But it leaks soooo badly from between the jfc and afc, that its practically unusable.

They've raised it. Is there a coupon code. I said I wasn't going to buy this, but that bigger build deck has me thinking.

I ordered mine as soon as Vaportek USA had them on pre-order. I was almost going to get the Crius but I wanted a bigger deck as well. Now that I saw mike vapes video I'm happy I jumped on it :)

When people have to buy clones to fix their jacked up, brand new, OG attys, that's not good :( Note the words: brand new. I'm not against scavenging from clones (nor buying them myself), but peeps shouldn't have to buy them from the get go to fix their brand new stuff.

Yeah I just looked and you are right, appears they bumped it up $3. I may have read it wrong before but I'm pretty sure it was $31.99, sorry about that.

We can definitely agree that they should have used peek and they shouldn't send out any insulators that are cracked. But we can agree to disagree that if your build and wicking is sound enough that it avoids getting juice into two giant 4mm holes then no liquid should get into the chamber for it to leak at all from the insulator or anywhere else. IMHO all the leaking is caused by the liquid finding its way into the two deck holes and coming out of the AFC/JFC seam.

P.S. Also if your coil is too low juice can spit into the deck holes (even if your wicking is perfect) and you will get leaking. So if you want to give the Criius one more chance raise the coils so they are about 3mm above the deck and see if that helps.

Hmmm.... well, the fact that my tank actually "jiggles" around at the place where the jfc and afc meet is probably more at fault than my wicking method. If the leaking was coming from the airholes, then I would agree with you, but it doesn't, so I don't.

I'd like to see the juice "spitting" into the airholes as I'm sucking through the tank. That just sounds highly unlikely.... at least with the more basic coils that I use. Perhaps some "turbo alien fusion clapton" coils could could chuck clouds at such high velocity that it defies physics, but I don't use those.

If I ever get my replacement in the mail, you can have my old deck. I finks me just two stoopid too no y it know worky rite. But it sounds like you got it all figured out. Just reimburse me the shipping and its yours.

Subtank Supply has pre order up now. Ships monday.......
I almost pulled the trigger on this since my PayPal has some extra money on it. Website says Geekvape is shipping to them on the 22nd so they don't expect them until after Christmas. They better hurry before my PayPal ends up with 64.99 in it. My decision may change if that happens.

Your case might be different since it sound like your deck is completely messed up, but the only time I had the Crius truly leak was when I had one of my coils pushed down accidentally where it was sitting 1mm of the deck. It didn't leak from the air hole but rather from the JFC/AFC seam. The coils were 6 wrap 2.5mm 26g SS wire coils...nothing spectacular. That particular Crius deck is actually perfect and doesn't even have a hairline crack in the insulator. I raised the coil and the leaking stopped. Every time I setup and if I have my coils less than 2mm of the deck I get leaking at the seam...The lower the coils the more leaking I get...YMMV.

Thanks for all the detailed notes regarding the leaking between the afc & jfc. I noticed that the distance of the coils from the deck makes the difference between leaking or not. I tried raising my coils after I read your post & it worked! I was going nuts looking for a measurement though, so thanks for the guideline of 3mm. Have you noticed when you remove the tank from your mod there is a little juice on your mod? There is a ring the size of your tank on the mod, like a water ring left on your table. Thanks for any input.

Well I am glad that my posts actually helped someone. I wouldn't post regarding the Crius in this thread if I didn't think the same concepts might help people down the line with the Griffin since they are very similar. That ring you see happens with all of my Criuses ...all the condensation building up below the deck leaves a small ring at the bottom like you mentioned....I don't think anything can be done about it.

FT listed them today for pre-order. MAP code brings them down to $26.34. Ordered a couple.

ETA : Canadian dollar is down to 0.69 American now :'(
Thanks for the heads up & coupon code! I ordered one.

Where did you get the coupon code? Is it only for tanks? Thanks again :rickroll:

Your welcome! :)

I first found out about that coupon code when the Evic VT Mini first came out. You basically just have to enter it to see if it works. I think it mostly works on new listings though. I think it stands for "Minimum Advertised Price".

Yes, it helped immensely.

Well it's good to know that it's not me, in reference to the condensation build up. Thanks again!

Thanks again, I'm so happy! I'm asking because I wanted ironically another Evic Vtc Mini in red. But MAP didn't work. I think you are right, technically it's only a new color, not a new item.
