I picked up my black Griffin today. First I had a Mt rta, then a mutank, a tfv4 and now the Griffin.

This rta is so simple compared to the Mt rta. It's so easy to wick, just tuck the cotton behind the metal band and call it a day. Close the afc and juice control, fill the tank and open them back up and no leaking at all.

I fit 7 wrap 3mm 24g core 28g outer SS316L Claptons in it, I tried for a 8 wrap but it wouldn't fit.

I've been dripping since the dark horse came out and use a troll now and the flavor isn't rda status but it's damn close. Flavor is just as good as the Mt rta and better then the tfv4 by a mile.

The delrin drip tip is awesome, I've always used a chuff cap and granted this is smaller but it's much bigger then a normal 510 tip. There was a 510 adapter piece in the box which is nice for people who need it.

Ive gone thru a tank full in no time at 80 watts and I'm about to fill again but I'll show the build pics first.

Did you trim the cotton before tucking down inside the band, or did you tuck it and trim it after?

I trimmed them before I tucked them. Bring a noob to this tank I didn't check the wick ring. Out of no where the tank flooded and my mod was covered in juice.
Rookie mistake on my part. I'll re wick it again and try to remember to post pics

I ordered a black Griffin last night AND stainless grub screws that were pointed out earlier in the thread. I figure if the only negative against this tank is some cheapo screws I might as well hop on board with the rest of you.
I believe the newer Griffins have changed their grub screws. I think they are similar to ones that will be used on their new Tsunami RDA.

That's great to hear. The one thing that surprised me about this tank was I heard very few cons against this tank. The main complaint was the grub screws but that's a cheap fix but to hear that they improved that shows me the Geek Vape is listening to it make's it that more attractive to me, I can't wait to get mine.

It's true. I got a new one last week and the screws are a darkened metal, nitride coated maybe, and very hard. No stripping and they got very tight.

I am going on about 48 hours with only 2 hours sleep, so excuse me if I blurt out giberish.

Late last night I decided to rewick my Griffin as the previous one was approaching its 1 week mark. Everything went hunky dory, until it leaked on me. Strange thing is the last time it leaked, it happened under the same circumstance. I happily vaped away about a tank's juice, topped up it up again, vaped it again for a while, left it alone, and then came back to a leaking tank and wet mod. That's it, hasn't happened since. I find it very unusual- It must be merely a coincidence.

It's work in progress, so in the meantime I'll improve my scottish roll and wicking methods. I'm still very happy with this atty :)

As if the Griffin RTA couldn't get any better, we now will have top airflow. This definitely looks like a response to the Gemini RTA. Glad to see GeekVape make this as an add-on, rather than a totally new RTA that needs to be purchased all over again!

mine from vapordna has the new screws. also, I just tried to wick this thing to get dry hits and it just won't. i put wick all the way down the channels and they are pretty full of wick. it is rayon so it doesnt expand much but still. very surprised it still didnt dry hit. i love this tank!

The only way I can get a dry hit with it is if I crank the wattage to a ridiculous level. Even then it just gets too hot for me to inhale. This tank wicks so good and it's such a huge improvement over the Mt rta. You don't need a ton of cotton and it just wicks properly the whole time.
