According to the definition of Mouth To Lung, restrictive AF is not mandetary in this style of vaping. In fact, I consider myself to be a MTL vaper too but I like big cloud - i.e. fully opened AF of Zeus. The point is I never directly inhale into my lung when I vape. However, I recall, in my very first few months of vaping, I too feel uneasy with big AF.

Btw, today I build a 4 wraps alien-Clapton coil for my blue Zeus and I take this opportunity to take photo of how I position my coil, try it and you might like it more than me:

So far it works fine:toast: hehehe...
Until recently all of my vaping consisted of Direct Lung inhaling which was a foreign concept for me after 30 yrs of smoking. A few weeks ago included a Berserker Mini into my daily vape rotation and found that I really enjoy it. For me MTL vaping works best with restricted airflow. After reading your comment I tried what you said and IMO it's just not the same. To each his own though.
I'm going to try placing my coils like you have in your pics. Looks like it would certainly wick much better but I haven't found that wicking is an issue for me with the Zeus.

You could wrap the coil in the other direction and it would reach better...
I have tried anti-clockwise coil in Zeus before but the clockwise seems to work better.
Either way, still the coil legs must be longer than if you place your coil parallel to the AF posts.

So far I'm pretty unimpressed by the Zeus. I've been building tanks for years but can't figure this one out. I've tried ID's from 4mm to 2mm, flavors very muted compared to Lemo V2. I'll take another crack at it soon.
How many wraps, what coils are you using? Spaced or touching?

This tank works great for me so far. I'm still experimenting with different wire sizes, coil sizes and wicking material. Also trying high and low placement of the coil too. It's always fun getting a new tank. Trying all different builds seeking what works the best with the best flavor.

What size coil in everyone using? Putting a 3mm coil in now. 2.5 was working great but I just have to continue experimenting.

Ok, I put a 3mm coil in and made it sit higher than before. Not good at all. It was very hot. I just lowered it some and it's a lot better. Not as hot and very flavorful. I'm going to vape a full tank of this one. I squeezed in 4.5ml if juice in it from empty. 3mm might be better for me???

SS316 26gax2/36ga, 2.5mm ID coil, 6 wraps .26 ohms. I turned the coil toward the wicking slot similar to the way that @hiclass positioned his. I didn't cut the legs long enough so I couldn't turn it any further. Still breaking in the new build so I don't have things turned up as high as before when I had the 3mm coil installed. I have the top of the coils close to even with the top air holes on the posts. I'll share more thoughts as I increase the wattage and temp

I want to try a 4mm next. What wick material are you using?
the only thing I've ever used is organic japanese cotton squares. I bought a bag of 500 on amazon for around $8. I know others have a lot of success with other materials but I have yet to try them

From what I have read, most people having spitting issues needed to rewick with either a bit less wick in the coil or thin the tails out a bit before placing in the juice slots.

Hope this helps
It's not spitting tho. Just getting some juice on my lips when heavy chain vaping. I've been using a lot of wick in the coil and down the slots. I have not thinned the tails at all yet. The cotton at the coil is very wet on all my builds with the Zeus so far. Almost too wet???
