It mostly petty, some because of the waiting and delays, some because they say it just does not perform, voltage losses, too big, too wide , blah, blah , blah. I like the size and weight of the ELA, I also just love the look and design.
Telescopic MODs by nature have some voltage loss because of the telescopic design. More joins, more loss of conductivity. I see it this way, if your device supposedly looses some power, then you adjust your builds, right? Make your coils lower? I can see if you are a mad "sub ohm" , throat burning vaper, any loss might be in issue, but for the average person it should not be an issue.
I would love some optional tubes for ELA to see if that would reduce some of that, I can see that the ELA locking ring is possibly the only "weakness" ? I know there are other devices out there that "hit" harder, but honestly most are just so "common" looking, a straight tube with some etchings. It would have to perform outrageously better for me to feel justified in spending another almost 300. The ELAs have never made me regret the money, It just feel "right" in my hand. It looks great with my Odysseus's.
So my polished ELA has a quirk or two, but I love it, I love them both.
