You sound like you filled them fine. Without a syringe (which you don't have to have) you could do the condom method to get a little more juice lower in the carto. Put about 10 drops or so in the rubber end cap and slowly push the battery end down into the juice. It will slowly push juice into the carto from the bottom up.

So, how do you like it?

I'm not sure about the cartos. Hopefully someone else here will be able to ID them for you.

Honestly there is more of a hit from these than I thought there would be. The first time I drew on it I thought I was taking it slow but I coughed it back out. It tickled my throat, and actually gave me a buzz after about 5 hits on it.

I don't know what that buzz was from for sure. It could be the nicotine, but I already smoke and have nicotine in my bloodstream. It could be PG or VG that im not use to inhaling. But its actually harder to inhale than I thought it would be. Almost like when I first started smoking without the lingering taste and bad health effects of course.

My verdict isn't out yet on these as far as whether or not they deliver nicotine or will help me quit. I should know that with confidence within a couple months of use. I just have some adjusting to do, I have to find the cartos I like and juices I like ;) First one I tried was the sperament and it's really nice. Taste just like it too!

Functionality of the roughtack is great so far, it works like it's supposed to.

Try a bunch of juices. There are lots of good juice vendors. Juices with some VG in them will be a smoother vape. I use 80PG/20Vg juices or less VG in cartomizers. Some Vg will smooth the feel a bit. if you still have too much TH, try higher ohms attys/cartos and try one nicotine level lower. if you stop smoking, the cig chemicals will leave your system including one that makes nicotine more addictive. Find a juice flavor/aroma, nicotine level and atty/carto heat that gives you the TH you want but not so much that you are not comfortable vaping it which would defeat the purpose. You want to be able to take nice satisfying drags. Smell the vapor - much of the flavor is in the aroma (as with food and cigs). if you need to, it won't hurt to drop one nicotine level to be more comfortable - just take a couple of extra drags.

Mikenet,

Most of my smoker friends cough their lungs out when they try my ecig, I think it's because your lungs are so full of cr@p...just give it some time. I've been reading your threads, and I think the research you've done is great and your first purchase superb....just give it a little time, it takes some getting used to.

I just bought a roughstack myself (my first mod) and am loving it with my dual coil cartos.....but.....I smoked for almost a month while first adjusting to ecigs, it was easier than quitting, but challenging it its own way.

I am an ex-smoker of 17 years, pack a day, who quit analogs within a month (and I wasn't even really trying to quit, just save money and my health).

You can do it.
You made all the right

It looks like you've been right about the PG/VG levels. High PG levels In combination with the nicotine content could be the cause of the irritation. After reading some of your earlier post I looked for specific PG/VG descriptions but had a very hard time finding them. E-Liquids from madvapes top vapor line had descriptions that usually said "a blend of PG/VG". I think one I got said "a hint of VG"

A couple E-liquids that I didn't get said 50PG/50VG, or were 100% VG or PG, but I wasn't interested in any of the flavors plus some of those were being sold in 30ml bottles which I didn't want for a first time purchase. Based on one of your earlier post I also think the 100% VG will clog my cartos.

What I really need is a list of some of the best E-liquid distributors, so that I can find a better selection. Any site that has a wide variety and specific PG/VG level descriptions would really help me.

The E-liquid Im using to start is the Spearmint. Its description says a blend of PG / VG but doesn't specify as to what the exact levels are. As far as Nicotine levels go I started with the weakest mg I bought. 18mg

I actually have 3 bottles of 18mg and 3 bottles of 24mg.

I think when I find another distributor for E-juice I'll want to try going up with a slightly higher VG level, and maybe getting one bottle with lower nic levels to test. So I'll take your advice but I need to find a good distributor online so I can find liquids that are exactly say 40% VG / 60% PG, or maybe 50/50. That should be a higher VG level that what I have now, but again Im not sure what a blend of PG/VG means exactly.:p

What brand of cigs did you smoke?

Most juice vendors recommend 80pg/20vg

PM me once you make the move.

Boy it will sure be great if you love vaping by the time you move! At least if you can vape in your apartment, that will help.

I smoke menthol ciggerets most of the time. For a year I've been stuck on Pall Mall menthol 100's because they are cheaper than the Salems and Newports I use to get.

With the new apartment, I signed the lease yesterday and moved my first truckload of boxes. I'll probably spend my first night at my new place this weekend, but will be without internet until I decide on a new provider. Im thinking I'll be up and running over their within a couple weeks. :)

and If I don't get accustom to my mod by this weekend at least being at my new place will encourage me to use it. The no smoking rule will make this thing a savior, and the apartment manager said the PV should be alright to use.

With everything thats going on I've only had time to charge my batteries, fill one carto, and then refill today. Ive been puffing on it a couple times an hour, and smoking in between. I'm going to try to hit that 10 cigs a day mark today, which would be cutting my smoking in half if I do it.

If you are still looking for an e-liquid that resembles the tobacco flavor you are familiar with you may check out this site.

smokeforpennys.com

I have purchased both their Salem and Virgina Thins flavors and been very happy with them. The menthol is not overbearing as I have found in several others and the tobacco flavors still come through. They will also allow you to request special blends/levels of PG/VG.

Good luck. I'm wiening myself off the analogs as well. Its much easier to do once you find a juice you love. I found that with vermillion river Kentucky premium. And I was/am a menthol analog smoker.

The most hype around here I've noticed is with the following juice vendors: backwoods brew, Mrs.T's bakery, halo, alien visions (bobas bounty), nitelitevapor, kick bass vapor. I may have missed one or two, but those are the ones I keep reading about over and over.

I can't really give good reviews because I'm not experienced enough. I can tell you the BWB irritated my throat a bit. The alien visions is really good but its 100% VGA for bobas and gorilla juice iirc. I've had no problems with it clogging my carto. I did get a bit of mouth irritation after vaping it my entire shift at work (which is surprising as its vg) I also have varying nic levels so that may have something to do with the irritation.

Anyways you just have to find a juice you love. I'm nearly out of ky premium so I've been saving it for when I get home. I will take that over a regular cig in a heartbeat. Some of the other flavors over tried from various places, not so much.

Went from a pack a day to 5 or so, now down to about 3 cgs per day.

/rambling :)

Thanks for the E-liquid sites guys. Ive bookmarked them for reference. Sometime within the next couple weeks I might make a forum or poll to figure out what the best sites for buying Eliquid are. This would help me narrow down where I want to buy from because so far I know of the following places....

Mad Vapes (only Eliqids I've tried is from Madvapes Top Vapor line, and I have no idea how they compare)
Gourmet vapor
Smoke for pennys
Vermillion River
Backwoods Brew
Mrs.T's bakery
Halo
Alien visions
Nite Lite Vapor
Kick bass vapor
Copper Creek
Greenhouse one
Vapor 4 Life
Tasty Vapor

Thats a lot of choices, and half of them say they have the best. If I end up making a poll for best places to buy E-liquid I wouldn't want to leave out any popular sites though, so I really need to expand that list.

BlueMist Vaping Supplies is where I have been buying my juices...he is in York Pa, claims to mix his own juices with only the "best" ingredients...I have tried better than 20 flavors and have liked most of them quite well...however, the only other place I have tried juice from is Liberty Flights so I don't have much to compare them to...he charges 10bux/30ml, will add a flavor shot for 50cents and gives a choice of PG/VG ratios and has a nice sample pk...5, 10ml bottles for 20 bux...so, there's another you can add to your list.........

I have a carto I want to clean now. Im actualy in a bit of a situation until I can buy more supplies in about a week.

What happened is that in my original inventory I bought 10 cartomizers, but 8 of these were DCC's. I wanted high vapor volume and didn't consider that they could be too strong to start with.

I found out that part of the reason for my coughing is the TH being delivered by all the DCC's Ive tried. The first time I tried one of the single coils I got, my coughing went down dramatically. This is great and i actually feel like I can vape on these smok tech 2.0s more comfortably. I even tried one of my 24 mg liquids on one of these and had only minimal coughing and irritation.

However these single coils need to be filled every 3 or 4 hours with moderate vaping, and one of them burnt within hours of usage. I tried refilling it a few hits after I noticed the taste changing but it still tasted bad after that.

I like the way these single coils are vaping but they seem too easy to burn, and these small ones need to be refilled too often.

So Id love to hear any ideas on larger single coils that will last a little longer without a refill. Also any ideas on single coils that are known to last longer without burning would really help me too. Or perhaps some info on DCCs that are known to produce a less TH than others.

Thanks guys

Oh, and based on some of the tips here and on youtube I'm about to try to clean the single coil that has the burnt taste :) Otherwise I'll need to make the other one last a week longer than it already has. I don't know if this will work if it's burnt beyond repair but it will be an interesting experiment.

I think I'll try whats been suggested here by various members and combine some ideas.

I'll run it under a hot tap for a couple minutes since its still full of juice.

Then I'll blow out the excess, and run it under the tap again.

After that I'll boil it for 15 - 20 minuets or so.

Then run it under a tap again.

Boil for 15 - 20 more minutes.

Then run it under a tap one last time and blow it out.

Next I'll do a reverse taryn spin to help get the excess water out.

Lastly I have one trick up my sleeve for drying it out even faster. I have an inflatable air mattress pump that can focus a large amount of air into the center of the carto so I think I'll use this for a few minutes then let the carto dry overnight.

I'll be back on tomorrow to let you guys know if I screw this thing up anymore than it already is :p

...other than a stick of dy knee mite, sounds like a plan to me...good luck..............:2cool:

You and a couple others were spot on about the single coils BTW. It wasn't long after I read your comment that I started using the smok teck 2.0's I had. Big difference in the amount of irritation I'm getting, so thanks again. I'm getting a little closer to finding my comfort zone if I can get the other issues worked out like finding the best juices, and preventing burning of cartos.

Good luck :)

I pretty much only use Boge 3.0 ohm single-coil cartomizers (until i get money to buy more/different stuff) and I've recently purchased a J-tank. I've been running the same cartomizer for over a week, and the tank slips over the cartomizer and holds a visible amount of juice, so you can just re-fill it when you see it getting low. That way you never get a dry hit, and (theoretically) never burn the carto filler.

whenever you make your next order, you may wanna check out a tank of that sort.

So where would I get some of these tanks? Id like to have some, perhaps in a few different sizes so I can use them on various types of cartos. Also how do they hold up? I assume they can be cleaned and reused for months or even years right? And 20 - 60 bucks? WT* (holds mouth).

Thanks
