...yes, to use a carto-tank, you havvta punch the cartos...how else is the juice to get into them????

Ahh thats why. Personaly the idea I like about a tank is that it increases the convenience of using PV's. However If I have to modify every cartomizer I use with a tank then suddenly it seems easier just to fill the carto more often.

If each cartomizer was something that lasted months then I could understand cutting holes into them and putting them on a tank.

Maybe a top down design that feeds liquid into the end that you inhale from would be an idea. If the tank itself was hollowed out in the center you could vape through it, and the liquid could be stored inside the outer wall of the tank feeding directly into the filler. Sorry I rant when I get an idea, but I'm sure that's probably being done already.

Really I have no idea why most cartomizers aren't just built with small tanks already in them. Self contained tanks built into the cartomizer would really help prevent them from running dry and they would sell like crazy. It would be a cheap design change that would make a world of difference.

If anyone knows of anything like this id like to hear about it, or any other thoughts on tanks. Also info on single coil cartomizers that are less likely to burn or hold more liquid would also help me.

^there's sort-of a thing like that out now. the clearomizers/smokymizers are nothing but a tank themselves, with a wicking material that carries the juice up to the coil (in these, the heating coil is at the top of the clearomizer, and the clearomizer tube itself serves as a tank you fill up, and can visually check your liquid level). I haven't had any luck with the "new improved plastic" kind; i always get a plastic-y burnt taste from them (using 70/30 pg/vg). The old style regular clearomizers wicked my 50/50 juice just fine, but they always leak where the tube connects to the base. Just my experience, YMMV.

I like the carto-tank better, because it still gives you that visual indicator of how much juice you've got, and also the coil itself is surrounded by saturated batting, so no dry hits/burnt taste in my experience. You can buy pre-punched/slotted cartos for a premium, or if you're handy you can punch your own with hammer and nail, or slot them with a dremel.

I think one of the reasons i love carto tanks so much, is I can never tell when to fill my carto. I feel like vapor/taste is dropping off, so I add liquid to the batting (which looks try after I remove the drip tip) only to over-fill the thing and get gurgling. I've never "gotten the hang" of when/how much to top off without wasting juice. The carto-tank keeps the batting juuuuuuust wet enough, without being too wet and gurgling or leaking out the bottom of the carto. For what it's worth, I can't direct-drip either :)

It's all about just finding what works for you. :2cool:

...well, you can get cartos which hold 1-2ml liquid and tanks from 3-8ml and since cartos last longer when they are kept wet, they last longer in a tank than not...the carto you MIGHT get a week orso from might well last 2r3r4 times as long in a tank...by the way, there are plenty of units like you are describing, they are called clearomizers, fluxomizers, CE2s. CE3s, etc...and while they work, they do have problems and are a bit fiddly to keep working properly.........
