Got my notice on the 21st. I'm on-site until Dec 6th, so as long as it gets here before then it's all good. Have wire on the way from overseas and from a place in the US (32 and 36 awg) to experiment. Now all I need is some mesh....

I altered the procedure a little and it worked fine first time, tested with the multimeter and zero continuity.

First I did the entire wick, not just the top part and this was roughly how it went:

Heated to glowing red and quenched immediately in water, 4x.

Heated to glowing red and quenched in pure PG (no nic or flavourings), then set fire to it to burn off the PG, 3x.

Sooted the wick with a cigarette lighter, 1x.

Heated Kanthal to red hot, 1x. This seems to make the coil wrapping easier as I believe it anneals the wire, it's certainly less springy afterwards and stays in place easier.

Wrapped coil and connected to terminals, it's been vaping like a dream.

I have next to no experience with genesis atties, this is only my second after Sturms G-tank that I (possibly hastily) sold as I couldn't be arsed with it's little 'quirks' like needing pliers to open the bxstard all the time. So I have no claim at expertise or even experience but mine's working like a dream first time round.

It might help, or it may just be fluke but I think it was the quenching directly into PG that helped. I am sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks shpaolin and van -- got my Line yesterday. Having errors on my provari due to the fluctuations( lowering) of resistance--will try thinner kanthal later. Doesn't seem to work well with the Don even at 1.6ohms (??). Lots of vapor and flavor but little throat hit and airy draw. Will try again to get it to match the A2-mt's performance. Thanks again.

I didn't realise Sturm actually quenched the wick in PG although I know he burnt juice onto the wick. If I'd have realised that I'd have credited Sturm with it. I just did it on spec as I had a bottle of PG next to me as I was oxidising the mesh, hadn't seen it described anywhere and didn't know if it would do any good but I'll be doing it that way from now on

TBH there were that many G-Tank videos I stopped watching them in the end

Yup it's a glass tip. I'm still filing away on my new Mawn but it still won't fit. I think I need real grinder not a metal file.

Get Hubby to put a nut and bolt through it with protection on the mouth piece end tighten the nut, put it in a drill chuck and turn drill on at a not to fast speed and file it that way but wear gloves, thats the way I will do mine
