So when I first started vaping, a buddy of mine gave me an Ego Twist and an Evod to get started. I recently ordered 3 new Evods and they seem to weigh less and feel, for lack of better words at the moment, cheaper. I don't want to name the vendors, because they have been working fine since I've got them, but does anyone know a significant difference between the genuine and knock off evods?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Somewhere out there
Side by side, the juice window on the knock-off is very slightly longer. The metal trim ring below the drip tip is different, the Kanger is more angled and the knock-off is almost square. If you compare the coil heads, you can see the knock-off ones are more crudely manufactured. Some of the knock-offs have airholes at 90,90, 180 degrees, some are evenly spaced like the Kanger.

Does your US vendor actually identify them as Kanger or not? If not, they are very likely knock-offs.

I think it's better to get the genuine stuff, with knockoffs you are taking a gamble

How do you know they are genuine? I think that is the question the OP was asking.

I have 3 EVOD, 1 with the BCC logo and 2 without. They are identical apart from that. The airholes are the same, the head inside looks the same, the window and the area around the drip tip are all the same. I dunno if that means I have 3 genuine or 3 knock-offs, but I know they work great.

A genuine one has EVOD BCC printed on the side. The knock offs do not. Sometimes there are only 2 vent holes instead of 3 on a knock off. I am using a FastTech EVOD right now. It works fine and accepted a Kanger head.

Well that explains why I was never impressed with Evods and did'nt understand what all the fuss was about lol
cheap knockoffs.

Some other differences:

Genuine Kanger have three airholes. At least one knockoff version has only two.

On the real ones, the airholes are right in the middle between the connection to the tank and the connection to the battery. Knockoffs could be anywhere.

The real ones take the Protank and MT3S coils. Knockoffs don't work as well because the center tube is too long and prevents the head with Protank/MT3S coil from screwing down correctly, leading to leaking.

Hmm.. the plot thickens. Saw an earlier post saying Kangar has two air holes.. not three. My no label evod has 3.. and works.. ok but nothing too special. a bit too airy for my tastes.
Does anyone have the one with the BCC label on it? If so, how many Air Holes??
