Just heads up for those who like Evods. Today I've received few Evods from fasttech (other vendors exist) for $3.08 each which is almost half price. I believe these are knock offs. They don't have EVOD BCC written on them, the bottom seems to have slightly deeper thread on the inside but everything else is same. (They actually thread better on my MVP than the original ones.) They come with 2.6 ohm coil instead of the original 1.8. Most of all they vape just as good as the original. No leaking etc and the heads are off course interchangeable with the original. That's my take on it - I like good bargains :)

I haven't read all the threads...but just saw this pop up in new posts. I have ordered several of these from FT sand I think I'm done. I've gotten a few "leakers", tops coming apart.... you have to shift and play with the seal on the knock off coil sometimes...... nope, I'm done with FT and al knock offs from FT. I will order things I know are tried and true from them ( non knock offs).....but you can have the evods that I'm not ordering from there anymore.

No. You just replaced the heads at $1.00 per. The tank was still good.

I have been using ONE almost exclusively for 2 weeks with a genuine Kanger head. No leaks.
I ordered 4 more from FT, got some genuine heads and I am a happy camper. Heads can be found at $4.99 per 5 pack at Wordupecigs.com

Still a good price from FT, even after replacing the head it came with.

This man speaks the truth.

I received mines from FT today. So first of all I was commenting on some units I received from china , friend of mine bought them there, and I assumed the FT ones are the same... they're not.

Differences :

The FT ones have only 2 homes in the bottom.
The drip tip is opaque vs clear in Kanger units.
The ring below the drip tip has a sharp edge vs a chamfered edge in Kanger
The coil unit looks different , the small silicon gasket under the wick looks fatter.
The eGo thread is very rough when you screw it on the APV.
Other than that I didn't see any differences.
Packaging is different too , these came in a small individual bag not sealed like real deal.
Coils came in a small zip baggy.

Similarities :
Colours look right
Coil unit from FT mounted fine on a real Evod.
From distance look the same.

Vaping ,
Put it on, shows 2.3 ohm , originals clock at 2.5-2.6
Loaded with my favourite ADV , left it to soak... first drag... PURE SMOKE , left it some more... Pure Smoke.
Lowered the APV from 7W to 5W left it stand for a couple of minutes to soak better... drag... NASTY , second drag same crapp..
This is NOT silica, is something else because it burns like paper.
Drag is VERY light compared with real kangers

FULL STOP!!! There is so much burnt rope smoke I can take....

Open the fakie , replace coil with real deal.
Put real coil unit in , stock not rebuild, left it for 20-30 seconds to soak... PURE BLISS.

Conclusion : I just wasted $26 on garbage .

You're welcome. LOL
I don't buy from these folks - so I can't say whether they'd call it a Kanger if it's not a Kanger.
But they have SALE prices on what they SAY is KANGER EVOD stuff. And the prices are great - even though you DO pay shipping...

This also addresses some requests in earlier posts - gettin extra bases for a clone's body, etc.
I just stocked up, and I'd really want to know that it's a Kanger, because I wasn't happy with the EVOD knockoff from FastTech.

Anyway - here it is:

Kanger EVOD's any color $2.88
Kanger EVOD BASES ONLY $0.88
Kanger EVOD Metal tube only (never saw that before) $2.10
Kanger EVOD coil $2.88 for 5 (they're out of 1.8 though)

My experience is different regarding the flavour wick, I get a more metallic taste when the top wick is not present.
I think that because it keeps the coil moistened all the time the temperature of the metal doesn't rise too high
and then you don't get the metal burn taste.
Maybe the flavour you vape hides this metallic taste, I vape mostly fruity flavors ... who really knows what happens there :)

I've come to agree with you. I no longer remove any wicks. I ended up discovering (the hard way, lol) that removing even one of the flavor wicks will result in gurgling sooner or later. Maybe not the first tankful, but definitely by the second the head gurgles anywhere from half down to one-third full.
