We're good. The problem with DT on a cartomizer is that it sends the eliquid exactly where it shouldn't go--in the center tube. That tube should be kept clean and dry. So, really, you should always remove your DT before you top off your carto and drip the juice into the filler, away from the tube. I'm very familiar with Boge cartos. I fill them with the syringe, though, at least the very first time. Works better for me. They take 30-35 drops (1.6 ml), then I just top off with 15-20 drops when the flavor begins to fade away.

As for TH and clouds of vapor, that's a bit more complicated. First of all, you can achieve high wattage results on any voltage battery, really, by simply using different resistance cartomizers. Are you familiar with the Ohm's law? The wattage (power, heat) equals voltage squared divided by resistance. If I put a 1.3Ω atty on a 3.7v device I'll be very close to 10W you're getting from your 6v and a 3.5Ω carto. All VG ejuices will produce more vapor but less throat hit.

I like cooler vapes on my eGos and my Rivas, sometimes I go up to 3.7v devices, but I'm really looking for a smallish VV PV (I don't call them mods because they are not mods, they have not been modded). I like the idea of variable voltage, but I also like the idea of all mechanical PVs--no wires, no headaches. I'm torn, really. I like the looks of the ProVari, I like the Buzz and the Infinity, I like the Precious and the Precise, and so on... There are so many interesting things out there. Decisions, decisions...

Chuck is a great little vaping machine. I have a feeling that it won't be your last one, though. :)Enjoy and read and welcome to ECF.

I agree about it not being my last, the ProVari is next on my list. I love my eGo's also mind you. They're my go to PV's when I'm out socializing or shopping. I use my CHUCK when I'm home relaxing in my easy chair or at the computer. What kind of cartomizer would you recommend for the eGo with throat hit in mind? Also, I'm a little weirded out about obtaining syringes, where do you get yours? I didn't realize the thing about the tube, although so far it's been working out. Is the cartos' lifespan reduced by using the DT method? Thanks for your help, I still have much to learn.

I don't think you ruined your cartos by dripping into the tube, just blow out any juice residue and keep on vaping. Cartos are disposable, they don't last very long, anyway.

I got my needles and syringes from an online vet store:

Needles

The best prices, and I think they are offering free shipping right now, I'm not quite sure, though. Get some 18 and some 20g needles for thinner juices (and for the E2 cartos, should you ever decide to try them) and some 3 and/or 5 ml syringes.

I like Boge cartos on my eGos. The 3Ω ones provide a cool vape, the 2Ω ones are much hotter and need to be watched constantly and kept wet to keep them from burning. You can get both kinds from LiteCig, Liberty Flights and Vapor Kings.

The new kid in town is the IkenVape's dripping carto [sic]. I'm enjoying one right now. But they are very expensive because you're actually buying a new DT with every cartomizer. I hope Isaac will see the light and offer an option without the DTs. They are very nice, indeed. A bit cool on an eGo, but delightful on 3.7v.

If you want more info about cartomizers, you can find it here:

I suggest you start reading from the latest posts backwards. It's a very long thread.:p

Thanks for the syringe info, I didn't realize there were different sizes, good tip (pun intended). I'll order the cartos from Liberty-Flights. I'm also in San Diego County and Ty has answered some of my questions, they look like a solid outfit. I'll keep you posted.
