I know this is a lot of information to take in but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the kits suggested by everyone here.

KR808- Volt, Vapor 4 Life, LiteCig USA
510

Both of these are good ecigs but the limitation is the battery life. If she has access to a charger, that might not be an issue.

Riva, Joye ego both have a great battery life (8+ hours) but look less like a cigarette. They aren't huge, the picture makes them look bigger than they are but they're bigger than the other model.

If the amount of cigarettes your saying she smokes is accurate, this is a popular model

Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Starter Kits

$44.95 and use the code heatwave for 23% off.

+1 for value, ease of use(which is huge with a beginner) and satisfaction. They ship super fast and have a couple of sampler packs she can try out. I'd suggest the 12-18mg as well to start out:) Also recommend the manual 78mm batts. Good luck with your mom. Please approach her in a loving way, don't push too hard. I smoked approx 2pad for 37 yrs and tried every method to quit. This is the only one that worked :vapor: But it was MY decision to cut down on cigs. I quit altogether cause it was so easy and simply tasted better:) My nickel again, Steps off soapbox.

Swedish fish...you have a LOT of posts, so I'm gonna just put my trust in you. Do you think you would have time to put together an all-inclusive package for me to buy? Like, pick out everything I would need and send me the list of links? I would be very grateful...I"m having trouble picking a kit brand, then all these different extra parts, then juices. I don't know my atomizer from my cartomizer!

I'm not sure fashion will matter at all to her...but I tend to think white would be best.
I think she would prefer a good hitting drag.
Probably just a couple types of regular tobacco flavor.
Preferably something fairly easy to use and learn.

I reckon this will be used as a "stopgap", not 100% of the time but maybe she could transition to it if she likes it. If it's cheaper than real cigs overall, I think that would help.

OMG, don't do that. I'm not working and have time on my hands. Just because I blab a lot doesn't mean I know anything.
Absolutely I'll help you but there are people that know much more than I do here and are better able to help you than I am.

I am on Indian land
My Mom needed a small cigarette like pv to quit. I got her a KR808 from Vapor 4 Life. They come in all colors and she might like that. It's a great company to buy from. Their CS is outstanding

I'm going to agree, despite not having used anything BUT a KR808d-1, because that's the one that will require the least effort on her part.

All she has to do is screw a small cylinder onto a larger cylinder and puff.

If, like so many people do, she becomes interested in the technology, and wants to get - and get involved in the space age looking latest greatest biggest etc and all the fiddling and tinkering, you know just where to send her! :)

Are you sure that's all she smokes? People wildly underestimate how much they smoke to other people. Especially people that want them to quit. I know I did it.

I didn't realize how much I smoked, until Puffing Practice so dramatically reduced ashtray fullness levels that it was impossible for me to not notice!

Hahaha. you all are great! I got down to 3-6 cigs per day for the last couple years I smoked, only problem was, I smoked each one about 3 times.

Ok, here are three kit choices from what you all said. Coupon codes would be nice :)

KR808D1 - Ultimate Starter Kit $70.00 (I really like how the white one looks!).

Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Volt - Standard Starter Kit - Starter Kits $45.00

Vapor King Premium E-Cig Kits and Cases - Vape On! $100.00

Do all these kits have everything I need, or do I need to get more parts?

Second, I need to pick out juices...can anyone recommend a good general tobacco flavor (maybe 2?).

Quite a bit of price range difference with the kits...

Question...some come with "flavored" cartomizers...is that like prefilled and then you just refill them?

If the look dosent put you (or her) off go with the Riva 510 SE... price is great and it is an awsome PV, the battery life is a big plus because the smaller 510 kits have a very short battery life (it was like an hour for me, but I smoked twoish packs a day) as for juices... the closest you will get to satisfying for a smoker I think will be a coffee or hazelnut or something similar... its hard to find a good (and right) tobaco, and is better left to the individual via trial and error.

Maybe someone can give some input on what I'd suggest-

Volt Standard Starter kit with 2 manual 78 mm batteries (with high 18 mg. 555)
1 manual 78 mm battery
Smooth sampler pack cartos
5 blank cartos

Total comes to $60.68. With the 23% discount. That'll give her 3 batteries and 15 cartos (10 prefilled). Or get 10 empty, 5 prefilled.

Regardless you'll need a bottle of juice. It's a good start and they have a 30 day warranty if she doesn't like it, kit can be returned.

Thoughts?

I'd suggest buying her an inexpensive analogue look-alike such as the one you can get at 7-11's. Then you can find out if she'll take to the vaping experience without spending a lot upfront.

The only thing is they taste nasty and it's like sucking a milkshake through a straw to get a hit. It might put her off vaping altogether.

That wasn't my experience (I used an Exhale02), but I did move up to a 510 after four months. We all have different taste buds. A work-around for a disagreeable taste might be for you to remove the inner juice pack by pushing it through with a paper clip and then just drip some juice on the bare atty for her. This is supposing that you are using something like the Exhale kit. Other analogue knock-offs might not be accessible in that manner. Good luck.

Baby congratulations first off !! I have only just started with this technology as of this past Monday and I myself ordered from the Smokeless Image folks- For me it has been a cake walk. really. The kicker is, I went into it with a we will see what happens attitude. The results have been totally unexpected. Smoke free since I started with the volt. Bad side to it is the is a whole carton of camels sitting on the counter. I o agree flavor may be a big deal. I started of with non tobacco flavors ie. watermelon, menthol etc.. just for a change of pace as I have been puffin the same old thing for 30+ years. In this case change is good.
