WOW! How about that ... she is famous. Totally off topic but i so have to comment on the pict

This is a picture from Cuba. This woman who lives in Havana proper and sits in a doorway smoking cigars so people can take pictures of her or with her so they will hopefully give her tips! In US dollars or Convertable Cuban pesos. Preferably! :) This doorway is just down from La Floridita and La Bodeguita del Medio where Hemingway used to go to drink Daiquiris and Mojiots. They have a life size bronze statue of him in the bar. They love him in Cuba. Cool huh!?

The beer of Cuba Christal and Buccanero
Oh and see the matches? those are government issued!

Crystal is actually pretty good, if you like beer.
And last time I checked they were using chavitos instead of pesos. Believe me, the old lady wants dollars.
Oh yeah, everything in Cuba except black market items is government issue.

My brother in law and his wife, both doctors (MDs) say the folks with old jalopies turned into cabs live better than them,
Matter of fact, that old lady probably lives better than them..
But, I don't think we can talk about politics so I won't.
You never know, there might be some communist vapers at the Cuban interest section in New york.
wouldn't wanna hurt their feelings.

They love Hemingway 'cause American tourists go see where he lived and spend American dollars.
But I don't think anybody has actually read his work.

People take this attitude that they have a right to vape anywhere they please. Stores, restaurants, waiting rooms, whatever, and its just ridiculous. I'm not saying you need to hide but have some self control people. Do it at home, in your car, or in areas and places that allow it. But going into a business or public place and vaping away is a nuisance at best. Now if the place allows vaping fine go ahead do it but its common sense not to force your lifes tyle on others as you stand inline at the bank or grocery store, not everyone cares to breath or smell your vapor.

If vapors dont want a stigma attached then having some courtsey towards others would go along way instead of the in your face attitude of I'll do whatever I want cause I quit smoking and now I feel entitled to vape wherever I please. Its that very snide attitude that puts so many off. Be polite, have some respect for others, keep your vaping to yourself, and most people won't care.

Andria is angry but not at any of us. (Thank God. Them southern gals are dangerous)

None of you in THIS thread anyway. :D There are one or two in other threads I wouldn't mind inviting to take a long walk off a short pier. Or wish them a hearty choke-to-death on their "authentics." ;)

But anyone who wants to object to me vaping outdoors had better look sharp... I'm not just southern, I also have red hair. Well, it was until it turned gray and I had to resort to drastic chemical means of keeping it that way. :D

It really is difficult to understand why former smokers feel the need to vape where they wouldn't have smoked- at least when it is contrary to societal norms...

People take this attitude that they have a right to tell me where I can`t vape, which is anywhere they please. Stores, restaurants, waiting rooms, ok whatever, outside , in my car, in my home, in my park we have a problem a big problem. Polite and respectful is a two way street.

Red hair is the big thing now. 7 out of 8 advertising women have red hair. My wife's family is Scottish so I notice it. I would like to see their cupboards. Being of British-Irish extraction I am a little wary of the whole thing.

I'm sort of a western-European mutt myself, but with a whole lot of English/Irish/Scottish; my maternal grandfather had red hair as a young man, and one of my dad's sisters had the whole redhead-with-freckles thing going on; my son takes after her, in his coloring, but after my dad in his incipient baldness (and blondeness as a child). Mine always just looked kinda chestnut, but when I'd spend time in the sun, the weirdest thing would happen: I'd tan, very easily... (courtesy of my maternal grandmother's family) but also get more and more redhaired, the more sun I got. Really odd genetic combo, skin that tans easily, AND red hair.

Amen, amen, amen. I'll put it away when I enter a store, but nobody better give me any static about vaping thru the parking lot. It smells one hell of a lot better than any of those coffin nails being smoked in the parking lot.

"Exactly, that's what I do anytime I am in a public building. First question is "Where is the bathroom?" "

Wonder if vape will set off smoke detectors. I think the smoke detectors detect small particles so they shouldn't.
But think of the shower things on the roof going off while you're sitting there vaping in the boys room.
Where is my smoke alarm? Time for a test.

Fire sprinklers would never go off in such an instance. As a former firefighter I can attest to this. Out always annoys me when a movie shows someone setting off sprinklers in a movie, either via computer hacking, or setting off one sprinkler head and making them all go off. There are two types of sprinkler heads, frangible bulbs and fuseable links, both operate on the same basic principle, main difference being the material used, glass or metal. The water lines are pressurized, usually with air, specially in cold climates. This pressure is equalized to keep the water valve closed. The sprinkler heads are designed to break (frangible bulb) or melt (fuseable link) at a specific temp., this opens the line at that head, dropping the pressur in the line, opening up the water valve, letting out the water ONLY at the sprinkler head/heads that were subject to enough heat to pop their plugs (fyi most buildings use frangible bulb style now, more dependable....look at a fire sprinkler next time you notice over, you will see what looks like a little red Christmas light at its center, that is the frangible bulb)..........rant over :p

I think this is why they coined the phrase "Ignorance is bliss" :D

Hats' off for fighting them fires!

+1,000,000 to that!!!! Having survived an almost-fire in a mobile home, I will always thank god for extended-911 and very fast response by the firefighters in Winder, GA -- their fast response meant it was an ALMOST fire, instead of taking out half or all the mobile home, when an amateur-rigged wiring system started arcing in the walls -- and thank god it was arcing against a 2x4 instead of that paper thin paneling.

SaLUTE!

That could have been soooo bad. In most cases when a trailer goes up..... It goes up so quick that all we can do is a "surround and drown". Glad you lucked out there :p

9 times out of 10, people will just walk right up and ask me about my ecig first and its usualy -- is there any *stuff* in there? -- tell them no and then thats when i get the dirty looks and all the quoted misinformation they see around *facebook*. - "if your going to "smoke" that *ish* that kills you, why not make it more fun and "smoke" something natural"

i have yet to meet/see another vapor in public... :/

I don't think luck had a bit to do with it; I think it was a blessing -- the sound that woke me, when I noticed the smoke and smell in my room -- church bells. It was just about 11am on a Sunday morning, so by the time I hit 911 and the firefighters started to me, everyone in that small town who was out and about was already at church -- clear roads! :D
