I agree with you, bud. But you're making a conditional variable that wasn't part of the argument.
In a space that isn't enclosed the other guy can move away.
In some areas, like the entrance to a supermarket or a bodega the other guy has to breathe your vapor or smoke
if he wants to go inside. It's not an enclosed space, but he has the right to not have breathe our stuff.

I remember having just quit smoking and a security person, an off duty police woman working as a guard at Publix Supermarket
hanging out by the entrance chain smoking. There was a cloud of ciggie smoke where everybody had to pass.
I needed the groceries. I had a 10 year old son at the time and was there to buy leche.
Why did I have to suffer because of her lack of consideration?
See what I'm talking about? Nobody here is more radical, well maybe a couple of people, and determined to protect our right to vape.
But in order to do so we must respect the other guy's right to breathe.

Look, you're in Panama so I'll assume you've heard this:
"Respeta para que te respeten". (Give respect so that you'll be respected)

Regards,

Hazy :2cool:

We're pretty much in agreement then. The OP didn't mention enclosed spaces, but did mention he wants to vape anywhere and everywhere so I can see how it all went downhill from there

Anyway, yeah I agree consideration and civility are the way to go unless you're being hassled or attacked by ANTZ. At which point I'd rather just tell them to go do something productive instead of wasting both our times.

On the other hand let's be real. If that security guard at Publix was vaping would it have been a problem? I mean how much more dangerous would a whiff of her vapor really be when you have cars driving around and fancy ladies with gallons of perfume running around? I'd definetly approach her to congratulate her on keeping of cigs and making a descition that doesn't pollute the planet as cigarretes do and go on my merry way.

Finally remember that respect is earned. I agree 100% that respect begets respect as you say, but it goes both ways. If a zealot doesn't respect me I have no inclination to respect them and their opinions either.

PD: How did this become a lizard thread?

I do too. I'm very polite and considerate. I really didn't think that vaping in front of the school would be such a sin, but..
Thing is that it was 4:15 PM, there were no kids in sight since the elementary kids get off at 3. The woman just needed to give somebody a hard time and probably thinks vaping is evil.

Hey Kaleoke, pleasure to meet you, bra.
You just reminded me of my old cats, Akua and Amakua.
Think I'll go to youtube and listen to IZ a bit.

Aloha!

Dropping this in here for you. An idyllic dream of perfection. Voice is perfect for conveying the emotion of the song.

ETA: I could listen to this all day, everyday. I fell in love with this song many, many years ago.

If the off duty police woman playing security guard (which is a BIG pet peeve for me) had been vaping instead of smoking
it wouldn't have been an issue for me, it was only because I was going through cigarette withdrawals and didn't need the smoke in my face.
Though frankly, second hand smoke has always bothered me, even when I smoked. However, had she been vaping it might well have
bothered someone else. That's my perspective. If a person has no choice but to walk through the front door of an establishment
that they have not only a right to walk through but a need (groceries) then the person shouldn't have to contend with either smoke or vapor.

The cop could have walked out in the parking lot where folks have a choice to walk around and away from her smoke
as I do while vaping while waiting for my wife when we go shopping.
To assert our rights while trampling other's does us no good.

Hazy Jr the lawn killer

Bro, he does an excellent job. Even the obnoxious police person that was here the other night commented on how nice it looks.
Anyway his nick is Ghengis or Trex, depending. He's a little (big actually..) hacker type so I'm sure he has other nicks
he hasn't told me about ;-)

I tend to reserve the word "suffer" for more serious situations. Take a look around. Something's just ain't no big deal in comparison.

I beg to differ. When you smoke cigarettes for well over 45
years and stop smoking a 4 PAD habit
dealing with an imbecile's smoke will make you suffer.
Moreover, my command of the English language is quite good as is my vocabulary.
Look up the definition of the word suffer and use the word as you see fit.

But I agree with you on one item, somethings aren't a big deal...

Yes! The songs themselves are wonderful. IZ's mix version is delightful
The man could see well beyond his beautiful surroundings
and his vision was reflected in his voice.

I never liked the ukelele until I heard him play it.
Thanks, Robin. While I spent most of the night listening to the BIG man
hopefully our colleagues unfamiliar with his angelic voice
will now get a taste of heaven.

Doesn't help much with cabin fever. You need something stronger.

That's what the maple syrup is for :)

Besides, it really does depend on the quality and cut of the meat.
As in beef, you have your sirloin, rib eye, and on, you also have filet mignon
from the tender loin, so with beaver.

Some folks like hamburgers I prefer filet mignon..especially in the case of beaver
In case this conversation degenerates into discussing fish..
I prefer pink salmon

I may be a bit odd, but I like the smell of cigarettes. Not when I first quit, but now the smell of a fresh cigarette outside, not indoors, smells good to me...

I don't doubt you might be a bit odd, Steve
but I do also. I like the smell of a fresh unlit cigarette best.

And lighted is cool too, as long as it's a passing whiff, outdoors.

Most of my ladies smoke, yet they manage not to have old, stale smoke smell, which makes my eyes water in close quarters...

You're correct about quality but when it comes to cabin fever avoidance, variety is key!!!! ;)

P.S. I'd go for blacktip shark

Which brings to mind something that has been on my mind for a long time now.

Back when smoking was everywhere... I never remember smelling that stale smoke or even stinky smoke smells.
Is it because we were used to it? Or was something added that created that smell? I do know that when the chemical for fire-safe cigs were added, it really made cigs stink....

I vape with the smokers and I can attest, now that all my smell/taste capabilities are back, that it is brand dependent. Some "ladies slims" are very light and nice while some "men's regulars" smell like stale cigar.

I don't think they added the extra fire ......ant chemicals to cigarettes made in the Czech Republic, even though they are Marlboro. Anything to save a penny on manufacturing... I smell that stale smoke here, but not there...

I dunno... back in the 70s when I started smoking, it was still everywhere -- my mom and I even smoked in grocery stores until sometime in the 80s. But you should have smelled the stale reek in the girls' room at my high school... GAGAMAGGOT! At some point in the very early 80s, I had a part time job cleaning up a couple of bars, early in the morning before they opened for the day, and it was the same exact smell, along with the stale alcohol smell in the mats behind the bar. (just putrid! ugh!)
