I ordered my Mother an eGo starter Kit for christmas. I'll be giving it to her tomorrow and i'm hoping she'll take to it quickly. I'm not expecting her to quit I'm hoping she'll at last cut down a little, she's a Marlboro Red 1 1/2 PAD smoker. I'm a little worried about sending her off and away with it tho, I've mentioned to her before about getting her one and she said she didnt want to deal with the all the stuff i was doing lol (DIY juice, filling cartos, dripping, battery mods, the regular stuff) So i'm thinkin i'm gonna let her run thru the prefilled ones that came with the kit and see if she'll take to it at all, after those i'll have to get some Tobacco juice and keep filled carts for her. OK so My question is for anyone that has gotten anyone steady vaping that's not exactly technologically inclined lol. What are some ways i can make it as simple as possible for her? Also i've never had an eGo myself, went straight from 510 to a Joker so any ins and outs i might not have seen....

Thanks for any ideas and MERRY CHRISTMAS! Hope everyones is safe and Fun

My mother is 71 and I got her into vaping last year. She too was a 1½ PAD smoker for 50 years. She started with the 510 and has now progressed to a ProVape-1. It really got a lot better for her when cartomizers came out. Now she fills her own cartos, changes her own batteries and even has an atty for occasional dripping. It took her awhile to get the hang of it, but she smokes two analogs a day now instead of thirty. Just be patient with her and don't push too hard.

If my mom can do it, yours can too!

That's great! And certainly gives me hope lol My moms 42 but has trouble using a cell phone, i think her learning curve will be a learning wide turn. Don't push too hard is definitely sound advide. I might be a tad too enthusiastic.

Hey I did the same thing and now my mom (67) is a pro, here's what I did / do.
Gave her a blu cig to check out, she thought it was pretty kool but not strong enough after a few days. So I got her a 510 kit with prefilled cartomizers, she actually likes the regular juice taste which makes this easier. This worked but I didn't stop there.

Next came turning this whole thing into a hobby which I wasn't sure would work but she loves it. I set her up with everything, the kit, a work section, syringe with plastic tip, mini bottles of juice which I still make for her, chargers, a pcc and a lanyard to hang it around her neck.

I showed her how to refill the carto's and explained when they start going bad put em aside and grab a new one. She loves the whole thing and has quit smoking now. I think the key was getting her involved in doing everything and knowing what it's all about. I took old one's apart and showed her how it all works.

So upgrade time was next but this backfired, eGo, but, she prefer's the smaller 510's, so I stocked up on 510 batts and life is good! Now she's making lanyards for everyone we know who vapes :)

I wish you luck, it's worth the effort!

Awesome Virk, Can only hope it goes so well for me. She said she likes the Blu PCC (a woman she knows has one) but i refused sayin that they're uhh not great. I should have went with the 510 for her but Charging would have been and still will be an issue for her. Eh startin to seem this will be fun, (if a little frustrating) I didn't think of it as a hobby for her yet but certainly possible.

The blu can still work, she's still using it as well. I showed her how to refill those little carts, made her a block of wood, drilled holes in it so a bat can sit straight up in it. Then made a post with a paperclip end sticking up, you slide the cartridge over the post which pops up the inner cartridge, then it's easy to top off the juice without making a mess.
Once you start adding juice it actually works quite well, just a hassle to keep doing it, but that's why we have lots right? haha.
Also, the blu and 510 are interchangeable, not a perfect fit but it does work, just gotta be careful not to flood the auto batteries 'cuz they'll die a horrible premature death.

Good luck, you can do it!

I think she will do fine with the eGo, I suggest these mega cartomizers from Ikenvape, they are out of stock but should be in, in the next few days. They hold 30 drops and have a drip tip so when they start to get low, she just has to drip about 10 more drops in and away she goes for quite some time. It is the easiest and the best tasting vape around. IKV 510 Cartomizer Gold V2 Drip-Style

Well congrats on you helping your mom!
I am going to suggest a couple different things, some may agree and some may disagree.
What I think they will agree with is the cartomizers...yes absolutely!
What I think some may disagree with is this, but it may give you something to consider.

I agree with alot in the above post. I am trying to snag me a ReoMini for Me, as well as a test unit for a friend of mine who is VERY techno challenged and I do NOT believe that she could make a transition with the typical PV's out there.....
So although I have no first hand experience on this, I do believe in
the consideration of the whole theory of bottom fed juicers for those who are/may be...techno challenged.

I'm also trying to get my hands on a Reo for myself lol. I've got a 3.7 and a 5v WetBox, maybe i will give her one of them too and just have her try em. Problem is, i dont know if she'll take to the smoking box aspect of it, you know, "the whole looks and feels like a cigarette". I don't wanna overload her. That's what will make her lose interest. Lol Starting to feel like she's an experiment.

Mission Accomplished! It was the 5v WetBox she ended up liking. Had her use the ego and she was getting skimpy vapor so i went and got my wetboxes, the 3.7v was loaded with blueberry pancake and the 5v with maple. She liked the 5v, she inhales just like a regular cigarette( breathes it in and holds it for a second then exhales and because she holds it in like that gets barely any vapor with the 3.7 so I think thats why she liked the 5v and because the vapor is warmer. I only made her promise to use it. I think if she just uses it she'll at least cut down. Thanks everyone!

That is just too funny! My mother is the same way! I too am trying to convert her. I may have her convinced into buying Riva starter kits while they are on sale at Vaporpure (if they ever come in)before the sale is over or maybe the Liberty-Flights ones- 1 for herself just in case she does wants to try it, and she wants to get one for my sister who really really wants to try this. The Carmel Cream juice someone sent me got her hooked- she loved it! Almost stole my 510!
