My 510 isn't hitting worth a *****. tried both attys at first, and ive been using the same one for about a week to "break it in". Good vapor production, carts are all filled with liquid I bought seperatly, and im not getting a good throat hit at all. Sometimes I do, when I put a new cart in, or top it off, but it only lasts 5 or 6 puffs and then the throat hit becomes non-existant.

I dont know what I'm doing wrong. Carts are filled to pooling, then a little taken out (filling with needle/syrenge from bottom). Changing batts every 2 hours. Keep pulling the polyfill to the top and topping it off, but still after a few drags I get no throat hit and lots of vapor

Me and my mom got blu's, and hers was broken so I gave her mine and ordered the 510. Her blu is giving me a great throat hit, and its the same liquid cause I refilled her's with mine. I try puffin slow, and fast, for the 5 seconds, and most of the time nothing. I can hear the air comming through it, and sometimes it makes a quiet whistle noise. Ive had to partially start smoking analogs again since the 510 isnt cutting it.

I'm really getting ...... off; can someone please help me with this? I dont know what i'm doing wrong, but I know my 510 hits good sometimes.

I know what you're talking about. I've given up completely on carts now I just top off and usually only get 6-10 good hits on it before I need to add 3 drops. I top off enough to pool it then just use it that way. I've been using the same atomizer for 7 weeks, going on 8 with no problem (i don't even clean the darn thing). It's just one of those things I don't fight anymore. One suggestion...have you tried the straw cart mod? It DOES work... also, try using a little less poly in the cart, I've noticed it's really packed tight in the carts. Let me know if you find anything that works.

Well I just made a tea bagged-cart (4 cuts at the end) and it seemes to prolong the length that I still get a good hit, but its still only about 10 puffs and then basically no throat hit. Just now, i topped my cart again and it hit great. So i'm guessing its not a problem with the hardware.

Do I use a straw mod with a tea bagged-cart?

How long do carts last on a 510 usually? Is it ment to be topped off every 20 hits or so? Its still pretty wet when I take it out and inspect it, but its also taking more liquid without pooling.

And how does someone vape for a long period of time while dripping? Do I have to drip every 2 mins or so? Is it better to drip without anything in the cart?

Thanks for everyones feedback. I'm just getting really angry because I hear everyones positive feedback on ecigs/510, yet I'm still wanting more out of my PV. Maybe the fact that I have a tooth ache is making it more stressful for me.

I find on my 510 i have to top off more than often. It's somthing your gonna have to just deal with. Keep that cart topped off before use. The 901 carts work better but i think the 510 runs a little hotter and drys the cart out faster than the Blu and others. You will be happy with the throat hit if you use a fresh batt and pooled cart B4 vaping.

It is a very good Idea to clean the atomizers every 2 weeks at least.
Soak it in a little bit of alcohol or you can burn it with peroxide.(that leaves a little taste for the first 10 hits though)
As for the alcohol, just let it soak for about a half an hour, then dry it out completly.
Overnite, or with a hair dryer. Burning it with peroxide, just put some in the atomizer, and burn it, vape it, with the ecigs without manual function, take a vacum to it, to trigger it.

Always keep them clean. too much juice will kill your atomizers, it good to air them out every nite,

ALso, when first charging your battery, i recommend 4 hours of charge, then 1 hour of use, and then another 12 hours of charge

I know parts of this are repetition, but for one thing, use the pyramid tea bag and experiment a bit with the amount. At first, I had used the recommended 1/2 of a whole bag, but it didn't seem to be enough. I doubled that, and it was too much. I've settled on what I would consider to be 3/4 bag, I think, as crazy as it sounds.

Also, I think that at least part of the time, your atty is flooded. Especially if you ever hear a gurgle, blow it out from the threaded end a few good times and wipe it, including gently wiping inside the lip of the metal. If it's hitting really weakly, blow it out. You'll usually see immediately that it was actually flooded.

Finally, if you hit on the 510 several strong times too quickly, it may need to rest for a few seconds or a minute so the juice can wick a bit. No, the 510 isn't problem-free, but I do like it.

For me, the ONLY time I have problems with my 510 is when I get too much juice in the Atty... I blow it out and carry on. As someone told me a while back there IS a learning curve on these things. Once you get to know "Her" you wont have to think twice about "stroking" her in all the right places and it becomes second nature.

All e-liquid is water soluble, no alcohol, or especially peroxide is ever needed. A good thing to do, if you want to clean is is run hot water through your atty, then blow all the water out. Shake it a little, and put a drop on the arc, and put on your cart. never vape a dry atomizer. Works for me everytime. Ive been using the same atomizer for 2 months now, strong as the first day i got it.

Away..
If the batteries are charged, it does sound like a flooding problem. If it were carboned up you wouldn't get the good hit on top off.
When it does that, take the cart off, hold the battery with the atty on it and kinda "wrist whip it" at a paper towel. If any liquid comes out on the towel, its flooded.
I just puff the atty a few times without the cart on.
But, thats me. For someone else I'd suggest puttin a empty cart, no fill on it and give it a few puffs long and hard. If it hits you after the 2nd -3rd puff and getting better, put the cart back on then and enjoy.

Some liquids wick faster than others due to being thinner. If thats the case you can add a drop or 2 per ml of VG (Vegetable glycerine USP Grade) and it will slow the wicking and stop the flooding. To much VG and it will hit hit good for a few and then you have to wait for it to wick before it hits again.

Hope that helps,

I had the same problem. I bought some 510 whistle carts from Parked @ dietSMOKES.com - and those seem to have fixed my inconsistent vapor problem with my 510. I can't explain it. I fill the whistle carts up and I can get 20-30 great vapor hits off it, then I refill and no problems. The whisle tip carts fixed my problem, give em a shot- can't hurt right?

I dunno, my 510 gives me a pretty good throat hit with most liquids. I've noticed that when I mix with VG it goes down a lot. I've never really understood why some PVs give better throat hits than others, I always correlated it to being the volume of vapor plus the ingredients to the vapor itself. I guess we could also factor in the heat of the vapor, but honestly it doesn't seem to get super heated to the point where you would notice a huge difference.

Perhaps the Blu provides a good throat hit, hell perhaps the wick on the blue you are vaping from is burning out and you are getting a good hit off fiberglass :)

At anyrate, now you made me want to try out the Blu.

i have had similar problems with my 510, my advice: 1) clean or atleast blow out your atty, (hard and long) and dry burn till its completely dry, (only 10 seconds at a time letting it cool in between), 2) polyfill sucks, fact, I use the shredded PTB and it works great i can usually get about 15 drops in the cart, and vape it till its dry (20+ drags,) The 510 does get hot fast, and doesn't hit as good when it is, you can either A) (if in the car) hold up next to the A/C in between drags, or at home too I guess) B) take shorter drags) C) hold the atty tight in your hand dispersing the heat into your hand.
I also recommend rotating attys through out the day, You loose track of which attys you've used the most and such, but I think it helps.
My 510 has great throat hit, everytime, and I usually get 20+drags out of a cart, keep in mind this is after playing around with it for weeks, trying different mods, styles, etc. these are things I have found work best,
