Finally I came across a thread here discussing that "missing factor" (unable to post links yet - sigh) and had an "a-ha" moment.

I highly recommend anyone having problems leaving the analogs behind to look into snus. Stop inhaling all of those toxins and still get the relief you need! Check out more about smokefree alternatives info at the CASAA.org site.

Thanks Kristin - I'll have to look into these. But it may also be due to the fact that I was a 2 to 2 1/2 pack a day smoker - down to 2 or 3 a day now which I feel is real progress (and twice had no analogs for a whole day - yippee for me!). But I will look into those links in case I still can't continue to make progress
