Glad to know I am not the only one who wasn't immediately whisked away to Vaporland, where 30-year-cigarette-habits are magically replaced by the vapor wand, never to appear again.

I can see a satisfaction in what I get from them, but they are NOT cigarettes, so it will take time to switch 100%.

It is my ultimate goal and I feel like I can still enjoy the act of smoking without most of the harmful aspects of it (AND THE STINK). That makes it pretty darn cool in my book... but not magical.

It was love at first vape, but the romance was quickly over. I bought a Blu starter kit and initially loved it, but soon, performance issues sent me back to analogs. Blu carts didn't seem to yeild much throat hit, vapor, or longevity. But I think more than anything, it was lack of a decent throat hit (which for me sort of defines smoking) that kept me on analogs.

I spent maybe six months going back and fourth before ordering a Revolver Gemini kit (along with some liquids). I've had it for about a week now and just smoked my last cigarette (from a previously purchased pack) yesterday. And that pack lasted me for about a week, down from a pack a day habit for the last 20 years. From here on out, it's all e-cigs.

So it wasn't an immediate switch for me, although I liked the idea so much that I didn't give up on it. There's an unrealistic expectation of e-cigs that a person needs to learn to appreciate, there's the withdrawal from analogs, there's a learning curve about how to properly use and maintain an e-cig, and then there's keeping your batteries or pcc charged and ready for use.

All things considered it's actually a big switch, and it's generally more of a pain in the ... than smoking, but I think it's well worth it and ultimately more satisfying. Good luck.

I am one of those puppy and unicorn stories where I quit my 20 year habit right after my PV arrived, but I was fed up with the coughing, the smell and the outrageous taxes. I still had cravings, but I vaped instead and they got less frequent. Everyone has there own ways and cutting down on analogs is still a giant step in the right direction.

Get a good mod (GG, chuck, Prodigy, SB) and you won't have to "fiddle" with them much at all and you will get consistently good throat hit for 5-6 hours at a time.

I am going to guess,, ummmm IDK when. My spouse and I got the first kit on/around the 26th of Jan, maybe? He started into it a ton more than I did. I would alt from a smoke to vape maybe 1 every 3 smokes?

I smoked for about two full weeks before I smoked all that was left in the house and then refused to go to the store and get more. I picked up the PV and made a mental note that that was my "new thing". Since then I have been smoke free almost 2 weeks now.

Note: In the two weeks before the smokes ran out I dropped anywhere from 20-25 smokes/day down to a few maybe 1-3 at the most (cept Super Bowl Sunday which I still remember I had like 7).

Sorry to say it but my story was one of the magical ones. Maybe because I was not trying to quit, never intended to quit and didn't buy the PV to help me quit. Without that pressure I think its easier. My story is enough like Kent C's not to warrant repeating.

That said however you achieve whatever you want to achieve with it is just fine, whether that is just cutting back on analogues or becoming "vaping only" its all to the good. Don't put pressure on yourself.

Mine was a failure at first - tried it, not much hit and went back to analogs for almost a month (had 11mg and 8mg).
Once my new juice (18mg) came with all the flavors (5 of them) I said from now on first thing I do if I want to smoke, vape a few times and then see if I still need the smoke.
Well its 1 week today with 0 analogs and continuing...
Still get urges from time to time, and keep doing as above.

I guess I don't live in realityville. Opened up the silver bullet, went to take a puff and OH ...., batteries needed to charge.

Six hours later I took a puff and looked at my girlfriend and said "ok you can have the rest of my cigarettes I don't need them"

Tried an analog the next morning, took three drags and tossed it.

Tried an analog last week, smoked half (I really tried to get the whole thing done) and then tossed it.

They taste terrible now. So as I said, I don't live in realityville.

Took me a few weeks to entirely kick it... But THE only reason I think it did was a mental thing... I have 2 other smokers living in my house, and only one was doing the ecig thing with me and he had more trouble than I did- ok, he was a real peach... He'd go into ".....y-mode" and after a while I needed a real one just to keep my cool! Though happy to say everything is calm now- thank goodness! :thumb:

I also tapered off, because I couldn't see throwing all that money away, but I think it helped to make it easier because you really notice the difference between the taste and feel (sore throat, stinging nose from analogs). Admittedly, there's the dry nose issue with vaping, but it's gotten a lot better.

My husband came in from a poker game at a bar they allow smoking and put his jacket near me....I had to grab it and throw it in the wash it stunk so badly. It's so nice not to have to change clothes when I'm going somewhere professional so I don't stink.

That's cool and GREAT for you - I wish it worked that way for me.

You must be a resident of Luckyton, which is just a few miles north of Realityville...

I am on Day 2 of vaping...
I have several packs of analogs left (was around a pack and a half a day smoker currently, in the past it was closer to 3 packs)...and with my KR8s (although I love them) they give a tremendous TH for me...
So much so that I can't even inhale much at all...I immediately start coughing if I try to even inhale a little bit.
Waiting for my Joye510 and some VG liquid to see if that will help...
But I am slowly tapering off my analogs...this is definitely not a magical place yet, but with some VG liquid perhaps I will get a bit closer to the 'real smoking' feel.
I have no doubt I will be off the analogs soon, just have to get that mix of liquids and devices so I will be able to really 'smoke' (vape) like I used to with analogs...

There are so many reasons why people choose the electronic cigarette. Alot of our customers pick up the "ecig" and never look back but then again, alot of them just keep them in the car for work, or what not. Personally, I smoked for a while and still used the ecig. But, in all honestly, I wasn't planning on quiting, it just happened :)

Just keep it up. You'll eventually get used to it!

H had been wanting to stop smoking for a long time, but could not do it. I was a pack a day smoker for many years. My daughter nagged me constantly about quitting. When I got my first ecig and took my first drag, that was it. I was hooked and never looked back. I had some cravings but fixed it by raising the nic mg slightly. Now I can't stand the taste or smell of an analog, and my hair doesn't smell like an ashtray anymore!

I'm one of those annoying people that once I picked up my e-cig, I never touched another analog. *I* was even shocked. I thought I'd have issues, but I didn't.

Now, since I started the e-cig trend at work, I see that I am in the minority. 99% of the other e-cig users still smoke analogs. Some use the e-cig at work, but analogs at home, some smoke analogs at work and e-cig at home. Some smoke both, 24/7.

A couple people tried the e-cig and it didn't work for them, so they're still smoking analogs.

I think it varies from person to person. I think I was just ready, in my heart and my head, to quit. I didn't want to taper off, I just wanted to be totally done.

So, I guess I don't have an answer for you, but wanted to say Good luck, and hang in there. We're all cheering you on!

I weened myself off tobacco, but the intresting thing was that my "sweet spot", and the nicotine level that allowed me to ween easily, weren't the same. My sweet spot was 26mg, but when I was smoking full time 26mg didn't seem all that strong.

While I was weening off tobacco I was using 36mg juice, and while it wasn't as pleasurable as 26mg proved to be, it really killed the tobacco cravings, so much so that I was forcing myself to smoke a couple cigs a day.

I would like to think I could have weened myself off tobacco with 26mg juice, and there probably were some psychological factors involved. Either way, there was no immediate cessation of tobacco use, and I think just having the PV and using it for a month or so was needed for my body to realize it was a good substitute for tobacco.
