Getting very annoyed with my 510

So I ordered a Joye 510, so that me and my dad could quit smoking, I've been smoking for 4 years and he has been for over 30. I smoked black n milds and Marlboro reds because I LOVED my throat hit, as did my dad. That's what we look for, and we both knew that if vaping didn't provide us with a good throat hit we would not be able to continue with it.

So I ordered us a Joye 510 kit after hearing great results from them, just so we can try it. When we first got it everything was good, nice throat hit, good vapor production we were satisfied and were ready to quit analogs.

It's been 6 days now that i've been on the 510, and for my dad it's been almost 5 days since he has had an analog. I quit a month ago but still died for an analog.
We got a black and white 510, the black on worked great awesome throat hit couldn't ask for more. On the other hand my dads 510 the white one, did not give a throat hit what so ever, nothing at all, but did give vapor just not even a tickle on the throat.
So I contacted the person who I got the kit from and they shipped a new atomizer out today.

Now the black one seems to not want to give a throat hit 8-o I am very frustrated it seem to be VERY inconsistent, I thought maybe it was flooded.
So I blew out the atomizer and quite a bit of juice came out, keep blow it till no more came out. Put it on the battery and turned it on, it wouldn't get cherry red hit but it was hot and smoked. So I keep blowing it out, and held it on about every 30 seconds - 1min for 5-8 seconds till it would get cherry hot to where I could see it getting hot. It finally did after a few times, and I dropped one (1) drop of liquid right on the bridge, topped the cart off, took a hit and got a throat hit I was pleased. After 2 more hits, NO MORE THROAT HIT (that's me and my dad by the way) I am frustrated and I am started to second guess E-Cigs consistency how am I to be pleased with something that doesn't please?

What should I do? I don't want to give up on E-cigs yet but seem to be on the train tracks with this situation.
MY dad was saying F it order the Joye eGo, I told him it may be the same thing and just a waste of money.
He NEEDS this E-Cig to quit smoking.

Maybe you should give cartomizors a try order some blank ones the pre filled are usually pretty nasty. I've been using 510 cartos for two weeks now and haven't had any problems with them, haven't even had one die on me yet.

There's a big learning curve to know how to vape.

Your experiences is almost like what I had with the first PV I ordered, a 510, took me like 3 days to order a KR808D-1, I had to drip on a 510 too often and it had a burned taste after only a few hits, plus the fact that I flooded it all the time. I guess I'm just not a 510 type of guy, maybe it's the same for you.

Maybe you don't have the right type of liquid too, order more!

I am with your dad on this one, order the Ego and a LR 510 attys

The LR attys should not be used on the regular 510 batteries.

They will provide more TH then you could want on an EGo

Nic content has something to do with TH too , higher is more , and the mix
can dull it too. PG provides more TH and vg provides more vapor

A 80 percent pg and 20 percent vg is the best of both worlds for many.

Get something that is closer to 5V. The vapor is a bit hotter and the throat hit better.

Flavors make a difference too.

Have you condidered dripping and tailpiping. Take the cart off and drip 2 to 3 drops at a time in the atty and hit it without putting the cart back on. when the hit drops off usually after 10 hits or so. give it a little break and repeat.

I honeslty can't stand the carts. Now the 510 cartomizers are a different story. If direct dripping and tailpiping doesn't work you will either need more volts or stronger juice.

I'm confused. How can one take a hit off of the atomizer coil with the cart off?

I think he is refering to taking just the black cart (the part the holds your stuffing) off and leave the atty on the battery. drip liquid into the atty and drag on it.

An eGo with standard 510 atty or 510 carto should be fine with an 18 to 24mg juice.

Mine kicks like a mule with 18mg RY4 or 555 (carto or standard atty).

I have been vaping for 3 weeks. I originally bought a magna from volcano but soon also bought a joye 510. I am a vapor who needs lots of TH and doesn't care about how much vapor there is. I found two things that have worked for me. First, I went to cartomizers because I felt I got a better TH and didn't have to worry about flooding the atomizer. Second, and most important, I went to 100% PG for the TH and it does make a difference. Lastly, some vendors seem to have stronger TH and flavors than other vendors. I am still trying new places, but I am sure there are veterans here who can suggest which vendors are best for TH and flavor.

Don't give up. You and your dad will find what works best for you.

You just dry burned an atomizer until it was completely clean and dry.
At that point, one drop is nothing.

It needs at least 4 drops at that point, just to get moving again.
I'm surprised you even got a decent drag after putting only one drop on it.

The fact that you got three drags is amazing.

OK, so I would like to order something like that KR808D that uses Cartomizers. I know the 510 can use cartomizers, but I want something bigger like the eGo. Something that will last longer.

What would be best for me? Cartomizers will probably be easier, and less of a hassle. As long as I can get a GREAT throat hit from it, I'm fine.

What E-Cigs have a bigger battery and can use cartomizers? Just don't want something as big as the screwdriver.

Low throat hit is not a major factor to me. I tend to like mostly VG juices or a mix of PG and VG. VG produces much more vapor in a 3.7v PV. Some of my supposedly PG juices produce almost as much vapor as VG, so I suspect that they are a mix, even though the web site they came from specifically states that all the juices are PG except where specified.

I have never tried a high voltage mod, but didn't see the need. I think that your problem has to do with the filler in your carts not properly contacting the atty bridge. If you pull off the cart and look at the filler material (cottony looking polyfill fiber substance) it should be just inside the cart edge, almost to the end. If it is compressed back into the cart you will get low feeding of the juice to the bridge.

If you drip, as some suggested, and get good vapor, that is most likely the problem. Take out the filler, wash it under running water, press it dry with a paper towel, fluff it up, and re-insert it. You should see a difference in vapor and hopefully throat hit. The key to good vaping is getting the juice to the atty bowl.

Dekang RY4 PG juice is a good throat hit if you haven't tried it.

I have done that, I always make sure that the filler is almost sticking out of the cartridges. So that it does touch the bridge, that's not the problem.

the juice we are currently smoking and not getting an awesome throat hit from is,Vapor Bomb SHADE E Liquid, 80% PG 20% VG 24MG of Nic.
I thought that would give a great TH and at times does, but not always.

I wish I could use a Cartomizer on an eGo.

I have the 510 andd the eGo and the eGo has better TH. Also the suggestion of cartomizers is a good one they work great on the eGo but I have the leave the cone off which is ok with me but some like the look with the cone better.

Well, you can certainly refill cartomizers quite easily.
Whether or not they are better, well, you're asking the wrong guy.
