Let me start off by saying thanks for all the hard work guys it's nice to have a wiki up again.

I do have one question to ask. Is there any way to allow us to change the serial number list? I kinda liked that about the old site because with the constant turnaround it was nice to be able to get in there and change it ourselves.

I am thinking if it could be a good idea to allow the account creation for anonymous users on the ggwiki, so everybody could create an account on it and help to edit / add content.

Another scope could be to create some user accounts for some of us in the forum, and that accounts will be allowed to create more users accounts, in case somebody is interested in participate and place a request for it.

What do you guys think about it, what should i do?

Well either way I would want to be able to add/edit. I am retired and spend a lot of my waking life online and much of that right here. The other site was anonymous registration and editing but at some point, you can figure some toad will eventually want to change something that doesn't need to be changed. Just my 2 cents.

ggwiki was down for some hours, last night there was a hail rain and this morning i figured out one of my UPS was not functioning properly and the ADSL modem was damaged (electrical grid in Guadalajara -Mex- is a mess), anyway i had a backup ADSL modem and everything is up an running again.

ggwiki account creation enabled, now everybody interested in contribute can create an account :)

I have Zoranth permission to use the diagrams / illustrations for inclusion on the ggwiki. :toast:

(I wrote him asking for permission to use them)

When we think the ggwiki it is with enough content, I will make a full backup (db, mediawiki config, images, etc.). I could send the backup to anyone that Imeo authorizes to have it.

This will permit to have extra copies of the ggwiki, that could be mounted in other sites.

As some of we know the original GG Wiki is up again, I took advantage of that and I downloaded the missing pictures and copied the info to complete the GG Wiki I created on my site, I think I just finished uploading, editing, adding, etc. the available content. The GG Wiki site is updated !!! :toast:

It could happen that the GG Wiki to be down, due the electrical grid in my city is a mess, but do not worry, the wiki is living in my main server (where other important stuff resides). I will buy a better UPS for my site I hope the next week.

Anyway, as I said before, I can make a full backup of the ggwiki and send to the ones that Imeo authorizes to have it.

(There still missing info about:
GG Stealth
iAtty 2

AFS v1
AFS beta

Translations
)

Ariel, it appears that on the original wiki, the UFS section is incomplete. Did they do a restore from an old version? It is missing some illustrations and the write ups. Also, there are illustrations for the iAtty and GGTB that can be added. They are in my File host which you have access to (Zoranth's Illustrations). I would add them but my experience in working with Wiki's is ZERO and I do not want to mess anything up (Best to leave it to those who know what the are doing) ;)

Can you add a section for the Stealth as well please. I will be doing the Illustrations for that soon.

Btw, if I have not said it already. Thank you to all of you for working on this. It is a very valuable tool for the GG community!

As I have said in the past when it comes to Illustrations, if there is anything that you feel needs Illustrating or clarification in the illustrations, please feel free to let me know ad I will do what I can to get it done.

Thanks to you Zoranth,

maybe they restored from an old version, I added some of your illustrations to the iAtty section: IAtty - GG Wiki

My plan is to continue editing and adding all the illustrations from your PDFs and I could add all the info you think could be good to have on it. If you do not feel like editing the Wiki, you can send me all the information you consider appropriate as simple text and I could add to it.

There is already a Stealth section (it contains only two pictures on it and no description :( )

I am very happy to be able to make my small contribution to the GG World :)

I'm glad to see the original is back up... or at least most of it is... guess now it's the time to just make backups of it regularly.

I would prefer if everyone sticks to using the e-cig wiki as the main reference/editing place :) At least this way we know it's the official place and everyone can copy off of it in their spare time.

About the UFS, I don't remember there being much information in it besides a few words and some illustrations.

Zoranth, do try editing a wiki, it's not very hard and even if you do mess something up, there is always the possibility to roll back to the previous version, that's the real beauty of this system, it let's you see the changes you've made and decide to whether keep them or not. Just check the history of a page to see what I mean.

Let's just say I was lazy and occupied elsewhere, so I don't remember writing about certain things or features and don't remember anyone else doing it...

The GGTS section needs an update regarding the SS version, we need a proper UFS manual, we need a proper GGTB manual, an IAtty section is empty, etc. There is some updating which needs to be done to stay current with the situation around the GG products, especially as we have a second revision of the UFS and iAtty coming up :)

I'm not sure we need to move all of Ariel's content there. Because his content is a rehash of older versions, which were cached around the web, maybe we just need to check the versions, and if his version is the newest then replace.

I was thinking about just manually copying pages off of the e-cig wiki for backups, because it is unlikely they'll be quick in implementing an OAI scheme with it. The most important bit is to copy what's in the Edit pane of the pages though, cuz that way we save ourselves the trouble of editing for wiki syntax later.

The pages on e-cig wiki are editable by anyone I believe, at least for now that policy has stayed the same, the only difference is getting a user account you have to ask one of the sysops.

I didn't get very far beyond reading the documentation for the syncing... it does seem to be a lot less perfect than it should be though...
