Imeo, do you see any genesis style atomizers in the near future for the GG line? A genesis atomizer with your influence would be one of a kind. If you did make one, I know people would flock to your creation. You mentioned that you did not have much luck with SS mesh wicks, and you get a lot of arcing in another thread.

I used to get frustrated working with SS mesh as well, but a good friend of mine introduced me to using 30AWG Kanthal A, and it's almost like cheating when making coils with SS mesh. The heating wire is thick enough that it's very forgiving with the arcing. If it arcs, just a little adjustment or wiggle to the wick and everything is good.

The genesis atomizer seems to be at a stand still with the creativity put into it at the moment, but I know if there was a GG version, it would raise the bar.

We need your creativity and influence in this area..

I had mine running ss mesh without any fg wick involved and it worked well at the start and then I had flooding issues but I ultimately went back a couple of days ago to the fg wick as I just preferred the taste.

Its hard to explain but I found the mesh wick to give a very "hard" taste where the fg seems more mellow. That could be down to the juice Im using at the minute which is a mellow and delicate smokey homemade juice so I guess that a different juice may suit the ss mesh wick better.

The first night with the mesh wick the Ody was going absolutely great but the next few days I was having trouble getting a balance with the juice control but after a bit of time Im sure I would have had that sorted but I just preferred the taste of my juice with the fg wick.

Have a go with the ss mesh in your Ody, its really very easy to do.

I think that Ody already works with mesh vapor. Have you read about Mrkrinkle's method? :)

Imeo, the Ody does work with SS mesh, but it could very much so be improved for SS mesh. Using Mr. Krinkles method works, but with the nr wire resting below the wick causes gaps where juice leaks through and causes flooding gurgling.

Using that method does work well when it does work, but I find that method to have problems with feeding properly often.

If you could design an atty made for SS mesh, I'm certain many of the GG family would greatly appreciate your efforts.

Thank you.

Ah but thats the beauty of being human - we all can change our minds at anytime if we so desire. Perhaps with the wealth of more information out there Imeo may decide to think about it again someday. Hopefully he does.

As far as flack goes - he has his GG forum friends to stand behind him.

As per your suggestion, happily vaping away on some 30g kanthal a-1 as I write this! 4/3 wraps of 30g in my GG-esque polished zenesis standard is producing some GIGANTIC clouds. And I also just setup a 4 wrap 30g coil in a drip mode ody, which is also working quite nicely, but I can already tell that I'm gna need to amp it up to 6v to get the th fix that I crave.
I have been using stainless with 30 ga kanthal in my Ody off and on for a couple months. Works very well indeed with the Krinkle method.

I've also been using 28 ga silver for the nr wire.

I just can't imagine Imeo being interested in doing something that's already been done.

I agree and Imeo has stated many many times he likes to make his own ideas.

That being said if Imeo made it and I could I would buy it simply because Imeo has never made anything I didn't like.

I experienced flooding when using the mesh in the Ody with the "Krinkle" method. That is very out of character for that style of wick setup in reference to the silica.

Not really investigating why, I switched back quickly to the silica and have been puffing away happily since.

The ease of setup and clean looks of the mesh coil was overshadowed by the flooding, which was a shame, since I was very hopeful to the outcome.

I may have another go at it in the future........

My thoughts exactly...

Imeo, is this thread a lost cause, pointless..? Will you consider making one in your own version for our GG community?

I have a few different Genesis atties, all gifts from friends by the way.

I have tried over and over to get them to vape well but have never succeded. I've used all types of wire and mesh, carbonized with pg, vg, water and different variations of those. Maybe its my palate (which, after 30+ years of smoking isn't all that sophisticated) but I just can't get a decent hit off of it. It always tastes harsh and a bit sour and never enough vapor for me. The only thing I've stayed with is the Ody with stock wick. Its flavor is great, the vapor moist and lots of it.

With my deepest respect for Genny heads, I do think the Ody is the better design

same here torq.

For those people that like mesh, I have a suggestion that will make them feel happy and it will satisfy both worlds (wick and mesh). I have said it in past but it got lost between GG threads.

Take a piece of mesh (1,5cm in length and 0,8cm in width) and put it around the wick. Burn the mesh. Make the coil around the mesh. Now put the wick on Ody or Penelope as usual.

That way you have the benefits of wick (best wicking) and benefits of the mesh at the same time in the best atomizer in the world guys!
