I have a few different Genesis atties, all gifts from friends by the way. I have tried over and over to get them to vape well but have never succeded. I've used all types of wire and mesh, carbonized with pg, vg, water and different variations of those. Maybe its my palate (which, after 30+ years of smoking isn't all that sophisticated) but I just can't get a decent hit off of it. It always tastes harsh and a bit sour and never enough vapor for me. The only thing I've stayed with is the Ody with stock wick. Its flavor is great, the vapor moist and lots of it.With my deepest respect for Genny heads, I do think the Ody is the better design
My experience has been the converse, torque, I'm liking the ones that are made specifically for my GGTS very very much ..........we all are the masters of our own vape, though, right? :)

same here torq.

For those people that like mesh, I have a suggestion that will make them feel happy and it will satisfy both worlds (wick and mesh). I have said it in past but it got lost between GG threads.

Take a piece of mesh (1,5cm in length and 0,8cm in width) and put it around the wick. Burn the mesh. Make the coil around the mesh. Now put the wick on Ody or Penelope as usual.

That way you have the benefits of wick (best wicking) and benefits of the mesh at the same time in the best atomizer in the world guys!

Imeo, thanks for taking the time to make the video for us. Very much appreciated, but with doing it this way the vape is not the same as SS mesh alone.

There's something about the SS mesh that when tuned correctly nothing else performs better in my opinion... Smooth thick vapor with a lot of flavor.

Again, thank you for your reply.

I would but I don't think that's cool to Imeo, this is his forum, I am just saying the option is available.........:thumb:

Yes, others are making genesis atomizers native to the GGTS, and I'm afraid, if Imeo does not start soon he may be missing out on a lot of what could be his... The boat is sailing...

Most people dont like mesh Vapor. Its not only the hassle to make it but also the vapor and the taste. Some of them say the opossite like you and ripple. But its a physics law that mesh hasnt a wicking ability like wick. Of course noone knows what is happening to our lungs with mesh. I want to play safe, its a very serious matter of health.

So all these things drive me back from making something like this buddy:)

I see your point Imeo. With everything else we vape, who really knows what is better?

If the GG does not make one of their own, then others will see the potential in the market and take it. Matter of fact, it actually has already started...

its not a potential for me, thats the problem Vapor.:)

In another matter I always try to think big. I dont care if people make things for GG series. My mind is elsewhere now. I want to make the VIR that will surprise the e-cig world. Thats my next big plan. And of course to send out the PP that will be the best thin full e-cig in my opinion.

when i had the line and used mesh as a wick i did notice sometimes bits floating around in the juice,i don't know if it was carbon or maybe small particles of rust,to be honest mesh is not worth the hassle in my eyes, also leaving juice in the line for a day or so it did change a dark colour again it could be the carbon but i would expect this to happen with a fresh wick but it still happened with an older wick, this does not seem to happen with FG wick,i would not rush out to buy another Genesis type atti again.

I'm working on some CAD designs for a way to mod Ody into a proper genesis atomizer.
I've been toying with something similar... a rebuildable Genesis atomizer for the UFS.

It basically uses an upside down "U" shaped stainless mesh wick where each of the two ends extend into the tank through insulated holes.

Think similar to the Patriot UFS, in aesthetics.

Here's sort of what I'm thinking, right now. When designing an atomizer to fit inside the UFS, real estate is key. With this in mind, I want to combine the usual two posts, or post + nut that you see on Genesis atomizers into a single post. It will take up the same amount of space as the usual, taller post that you see in Genesis atomizers, like this:

V9NRS.png

The major question I have is how the liquid will be fed to the wick. Ideally, I'd like to insulate the 510 connection and feed the wick directly into it, so that the whole thing can take advantage of the UFS' juice control. I'm not entirely convinced, though, that that will be enough exposure to constantly keep the wick wet. I don't have my UFS yet, so I can't test it, but any of you UFS users out there think that the suction from inhale in combination with an open liquid control would suffice to keep it saturated?

Boy, with all the new style Genesis attys out there, I just had to try one so I got a good one. I did the whole carbonize the mesh thing, well mind you, with a blow torch, quenched 5 times in water then burned juice off it another 5 times. I had hot spots on the first 5 coils i built, none lasting longer than a few pulses. I finally got the thing to vape after an hour and 6 coils.

Pulsed the coil several times to burn in the coil, took a hit and it was like breathing sulfuric acid. I coughed for a good 5 minutes. I blame this not on the maker of the Atty its well made and beautiful, but I've gotten so spoiled with my Ody's and Penelopes that I just can't imagine anyone having to fiddle so much. Not only that, while I was having my coughing attack, I laid it down on the couch for 5 minutes and when I came back, all the juice had dripped out on the couch.

I can only imagine that the good folks out there that rave about these machines have never tried and Ody system with a proper wick. I can make a new wrapped coil/wick assembly in a few minutes, you can vape it right out of the gate, no burn in or break-in required, they taste great, they don't leak, never harsh and it lasts a week or more.

I think Imeo should concentrate on the Proteus, the VIR and forget about the genesis. Period. Forgive me if I've stepped on any sacred cows but my lungs are on fire and my wife is .....ing a storm about the spot on the couch!

Whoa there buddy. Don't write off genesis users because you had issues with your first one. I own serveral Odys and have since their release and vape them every day, but I also vape genesis style atties almost as much as I do my odys. Both are great, but each has their own strengths. And btw, setting up a genesis atomizer is actually faster than setting up ody once you get your technique down.

Why would you ever do something like that? This comment baffles truly baffles me...Not only does a ss mesh wick last for ever, but the flavor of nextel doesn't hold a candle compared to it!
If I ever get a genesis atty I will probably use Nextel to wick it...
