Here it is --

quick and dirty passthru--

takes 1/2 hour to make,
and anyone can do it ---------

GG TRANSFORMER -- USB

Materials –

1 x GG Transformer

1 x False Battery ----
This can be a piece of wooden dowel, or plastic,
As close to the width and height of the batteriy you normally use .

1 x USB cable

2 x small screws

Method –

1/ Unscrew the booton off the transformer

2/ Take the USB cable and strip the wires back about 4 – 5 inches
To the final coverings, -- Red, Black, White and Green

3/ cut away all excess covering material – and cut off
The Green and White wires.

4/ Thread the USB cable in through the hole in the bottom end cap

5/ Thread the Black wire in and up through the spring

6/ Attach the Black wire to the bottom screw on the false battery

7/ Run the Red wire up along the side of the false battery
And attack it to the top screw on the false battery

8/ Screw both of the screws down tightly

9/ do a couple of wraps with duct tape from the top of the false battery to the bottom

10/ Insert the false battery in through the button end ---
And screw on the bottom end cap

11/ Screw your button back onto your GG Transformer

12/ Plug into a powered USB hub, and smoke your eyes out !!!!!!!!!!!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ha ha ha – Done --- clever or what ---

Credit goes to a member modder from ECF who did this months and months ago,
And I remembered how to do it -- ha ha

Took only ½ hour to make this -----

-- Of course you can adapt this to do for the Grant, and for the Nano also ---------

A quick question, How can we find a way to quickly unplug our GG to take it on the road. Unless I am missing something it would need to be partially disassembled. Someone needs to help get this figured out. The only option I can think of is an extra end cap.

Yes, Stormy.

to do this you would have to have a spare endcap done as the USB --

and another end cap to interchange when going mobile.........
then all you have to do is loosen out the button enough to remove the false battery which is attached to the bottom end cap
and replace the button, and new end cap and away you go with batteries again

OK ??

That would be great. I think there must be a way to do this though without having another end cap. just a way to plug the wire through the hole. Someone needs to be brilliant and figure this out. Then we can hook this to a Powerline adapter and vape at 6 volts or 4.5.

I did have another idea for the USB passthru for the GG
but I am not clever enough to do it

you unscrew the short metal rod and spring that is attached to the centre of the bottom end cap ----

replace it with a longer rod that will touch the top connector on the top end cap at the atty end-----

the rod should have a connector attaching to it at the bottom with the end either into or just above one of the holes in the end cap,

so you could then plug into it from outside thru the hole in the endcap--
does that make sense ??????

but it still requires you to have a separate endcap for the USB
and one to be used with the battery

Di, exellent thought my derar. GG looks very beautiful and the front holes helped a lot for this exellent mode. Bravo once again sweety!!!

ha ha , oh, Imeo,

I am sure you could make it a lot better than me, this was just a very quick and easy throw together passthru-----

but it works, and so who cares......

I do not think we really need a passthrough for the GG Trans,
thats is why we wanted it -- for the 18650 battery,
so we have 12 hours battery usage with one charge

but it was fun to do it, just to see if I could do it .......

for the others who want a passthru for a 6volt PV,
then maybe they can use this idea as a starting point..............

I think some of the guys here can take this basic idea and come up with something awesome. If you have the brass end caps you would have an extra one to use. If you had a very narrow false battery you could put a piece of pvc pipe sleeve down from the top to cover it so you wouldn't have so remove the button. The guys need to take it from her I think. You dould use the small Nano size on this. That would be cute. 6V nano

Congratulations on making your own mod Di:)

I really am not trying to put a downer on anything but I kind of don't understand the point of a GG USB passthru........but if it fulfills a need for you, then super!:)

Some one ask for a 6 volt pass through just yesterday.

Dear Dikkery,
Just an idea for your next mode:
Instead a USB which could give you no more than 500mA , use regulated SMPS ( switched mode power supply ) at 3 to 5V 1A which could be easily obtained from any electronics shop. Thus you could try different voltages ( currents ) across the atomiser and choose the right one most suitable for you.

Yep, I saw that Stormy. I was surprised then too.:D Obviously some people do find a need for it so I am very glad that Di has generously shared how she made hers so that those who would like one can make their own. :)

That's where I was coming from in my reply and I am really glad you had a go and also shared that. You will be making mods of all kinds from now on..............:D

Hi nickarsow

thank you for your idea

I have one of these power supply that you talk about,
I use it when I go out in the car with my usb e-cigs,

this one I made here was just for a bit of fun,
really just to see if I could do it,
I never made a mod before,
and this was just so easy I had to try it.......

but for the GG Transformer it is really not needed.......
as you get 12 hours smoking on the 18650 battery, as I said,

but for the person who asked for a 6volt USB PV
it may be a starting point for others to help her out...........

also your ides of the variable power supply would be something for them to look at also to get that 6volts for their attys.........

thanks for your suggestion...........

no no,
I am not a modder Lisa,

however, I think I might just like to try those rhs plugs that stormy is talking about,

that does sound rather interesting.................:):)

Well done Di.....never would have thought of that....:)

thanks moog,

as I said not my idea, but I did remember it from a long time ago,
and when the passthru was mentioned,

mmmmmmmmm, my little grey cells started ticking over,
and I thought, oooh, I wonder if that would work,
and I wonder if I can do it...........

it was a fun excercise -------
