The new AFS is not a revision, it is a complete redesign. I expected my current GG to not fit, and expected to buy a new GG when I buy the new AFS. You have gone above and beyond the call of duty, by finding a way to adapt the current GG's. Charging money for the adapter pieces is the right thing to do.

Huh, well i didn't expect to change it.

I actually like the shiny GG and I like it's imperfections. The GG slim I had won had like a small puncture or smth on the surface. First though I had was "love it! trully hand-made".

If anyone wants cheap "perfect" factory crap from China they're free to order. :D And let ME get the GG&AVS full stop. Go to your supermarket and stop whining :)

My GGTS #180 is one of Rob's orphans. I can understand why he was hesitant to sell it, because the top part is the highly polished aluminum, while the bottom part has the older machine grooves in it. Not sure how or why it ended up that way, but I personally like it. It's a mix of the old and new styles. I polish and clean it daily and it just works like a champ. To me it's more like a very finely crafted pipe than an e-cig. I also have several other fine e-cigs that are gathering dust or barely used to drip and test a new juice mix, before loading up the AFS again. I'm also in the process of selling off most of my original gear to friends who are just now getting into vaping.

When I first started vaping, it was to quit smoking, like many others here. I got a lot of remarks about why I just didn't quit smoking..why bother vaping. Or was I going to quit vaping too after I got off the analogs. I argued the point that I was looking for a substitute for analogs, not a complete abstinence. My early 510 kits and homemade mods, were in fact just that..substitutes. I then got my BSB and thought I'd really found a good mod that not only brought vaping to a new level, but that had a bit of class and also brutal functionality.

I then found the AFSv2 and realized all that I'd been missing. I could just load it and forget about everything else and just enjoy the vape. But I was very dissatisfied with how it looked atop the BSB. It was just wrong. So I invested in my GGTS, while I had the chance to get my hands on one of the older style units. I knew that Imeo was about to redesign the top and make the new model integrate with the AFS. I thought long and hard about this. The real deal maker was the "Aesthetic Mod" to sink the AFSv2 down onto the GGTS. That's what I was looking for, without giving up the ability to use my AFSv2 on any mod I wanted as an emergency back up.

Having said all that...I will probably at some point, buy the newest integrated GGTS/AVS unit to have in my collection as well. In my short time as a GG user, I've come to respect Imeo's genius and if he says it's an improvement then I trust what he says about his creations. I also can appreciate that each unit is hand-crafted and will have it's own distinct characteristics. That is what craftsmanship is all about. My GG has far surpassed my expectations and I now vape for the pleasure and satisfaction of vaping, much like smoking a very fine pipe. Classic, old-world styling, industrial strength, buffed or tarnished, it maintains it's elegance and simplicity. I would hope that Imeo would continue to have the fortitude to not compromise his designs and vision to satisfy the criticisms of those who have not taken the time to master and realize the full potential of such an elegant device.

Hi Imeo..
Since I got my GGTS, I haven't cleaned it, polished it or anything.
Why? Thats CHARACTER! Thats what I like about HAND MADE Products/Devices..
I LOVE it the way it is.. If others want it looking perfectly shiney? Let them go somewhere else.
YOU, Imeo, MY FRIEND, Make the GREATEST looking devices out there. Hand Made and they WORK! Now enough sdaid on this..
As for the parts needed to use the older GGTS's? If you need to charge for them, so be it..
YOU need to survive and support your Family!

Imeo,

I have have both a shiny and a non-shiny GGTS... but that doesn't matter I love both of them... Like I said I don't post much in vender's sub-forums... only to show appreciation,, and maybe a witty/sarcastic remark now and then....

I understand you wanting to do for the customer.. and that is GREAT to a point... all you need to worry about trying to make a great product.... even with a great product SOME still won't be happy..

Take opinions for what they are worth (including mine) but follow YOUR desire and dream FIRST....

don't get all caught up with the "Could you do this", "Could you do that", "Why are you not doing this", "Why did you do that" comments....

If there is a legit issue.. of course it would make sense to address it, but if it just a request for "FLUFF" I say if you can do it and willing to then fine... if not... they will just have to :p:censored: deal with it :D

Imeo, everybody accepts a blank piece of paper, but a painting? No, some love it, some hate it. That's because a painting has character, and not every character is for every person.

GGTS has character, a character that - personally - I love.

Is GGTS perfect? No! No human made thing is perfect. Is it the best there is today? Yes!

So my opinion is to not beat yourself so hard to please everyone. Some will never be no matter how hard you try and how great things you produce.

After all, if you ask my father about a ferrari he will tell you that it can carry only two people and has no not enough space to carry stuff :D:D:D:D Really, he will!

IMO the minor imperfections introduced during the 'hand made' manufacturing process make each GG unit individual and unlike mass produced units no two are the same. Imeo, I don't really care about shiny or dull, if it's adding too much to your production time leave them dull or make a small batch shiny charge extra for them. Imeo, I know your a perfectionist but you are not a machine and your family needs some of your time as well. As for the people complaining, it's impossible to please everybody, the GG speaks for itself anyway!

Thank my friend Yaks for saying this and shine prosess eats me the 7/10 of my time!! Look:

Shining each GG eats me 30 mins.
Cleaning them eats me 1 hour!!! The dirt from the shining soap goes all over the place. And GG has many threads, its not simple like other mods that have only a tube. Can you imagine that I have to clean every thread inside and outside with my nail?
If I wouldnt do this shiny silly prosess and I had made a knurled nickel plated GG then we would not have finger prints, no black marks, no scratces at all!

Also Clyde made a comparison about AVS and other systems out there. Very nice post of course and a big one. Clyde spend much time for this and many days of testing but some things that have to be cleared.

Clyde said that Carlos was the first that made the AFS but he didnt
knew that AFS V1 was here months ago before Carlos make his AFS. But the GG war didnt let people to know the truth. Of course I told him that and he correct his post.

Clyde said that AVS is the luxury sedan of the AFS systems while Carlos system is the ferrari. Ok:

AFS is not a plastic bottle, its a complete mechanical system with many thoughts on it and without a push button, its semiautomatically with its CR bringing liquid inside atty and when a burn taste is coming to mouth. If I wanted to make a plastic bottle with a pin to bring liquid I would have done it months ago. But I just dont like to make things like that. I want the best looking PV in the world, full mechanical and robost too.

Also Clyde compared the AFSV2 with other mods and not the GGTS-AVS with them, so he has a point to all he said about it exept the "high performance sports sedan", because I think that with a carto the AFSV2 works like an aeroplane!! I dont see a comparison with Carlos mod if you put a carto on the AFS.!

Also Clyde said that AFS works with any 901 atomizer but later he said that requires special imeoatties. Not only works with unmodified 901 but with 510 too just with a regular 901-510 adapter. Maybe that was a writing mistake.

Clyde, if I made a mistake here because I didnt read well your post, you can correct me any time:)

Thanks again for this very good comparison and please wait for the GGTS-AVS. Not the one you have in your hands but the smaller one!

And yes, you are the Marsal of the reviews buddy!

ps....... I was a little defensive about price because I made a promise by mistake and I felt a little bad about this Clyde my friend

Finally, I can't believe Imeo spends so much time on the boards.

I make the tubes and I send them to a factory to make the threads. That way I can have compatibility with all the newer models. After that I work from home so I am in front of the p/c all the time. I shine them in the wheel at home and I clean them at home too so every 1/2 hour I check the forum. Thats why you see me all the time here Clyde:)

The AFS was a high performance luxury sports sedan!
I corrected by mention of the CJB being the 1st 3rd gen.
Yes, I did call the CJB a ferrari, because it can spend days on lifts at the mechanics garage, and the mechanic may not return your phone calls.:p
I also said "its style, dependability, versatility and customer service has no equal." I know you're insecure, but THAT'S not good enough for you? C'mon!;)

Thanks Twi my new friend.

GG is shiny to mirror. All shiny mods are exactly like this. But some small scratces or marks that some of GGs have cant be avoided. I dont make my order to a factory and wait for the result. I do them alone and sometimes I missed some scratces because I am tired, or because tubes fall of my hands because machine cut my hand, etc. Some GGs have my blood on them and I wipe them before I send them to my sellers. If anyone see a small red mark then you know what it is!

Thanks friend for your words. I charge the extra parts because I have to do it. I want only my cost. My sellers and I will not have a profit from them. We will have a profit only on the 60 euros. The rest of 20 euros are just my cost. At least I will not lose my money

Hi Imeo,

Just thought I'd throw my two cents in... Minor imperfections are considered proof positive that a product is truly hand crafted and not machine made. They are what gives each individual item there very own unique character... Don't give in to the (very few, I'm sure) malcontents who wouldn't know true quality if it sat on their lap and kissed them on lips...

Thats true Mau my friend. GG has no imperfections that are really visible but some people try to find a jumping plant louse inside straws (Greek expression):D
