I feel like I already got an answer to this question, but I can't find it.

I'm thinking of using efest IMR 18350s in a gold/chrome ChinaGG.
If I want to stack them, do I need to buy another tube from somewhere,
or will the 18650 tube work, if not, will the extra/extension tube at hoosier work?
I need to at least but a 2Cent safety fuse if I'm doing that, right?
I'll eventually get a Kick too, but can't do both at the same time.
I guess the smart thing is to use the fuse even if I'm using it in single 18350
mode too, right?

Also, does button top or flat top matter?

Sorry for the repetitive questions. I just want to make sure I dot all my Ts and cross all my Is.
;)

yes stacked 350's fit with the stock extender tube. shortstop will fit too. dont use a kick, it will only lower your wattage.

I believe thats why everybody doesnt mind wrenching on this mod.. because if it were to be rendered useless, at least we only spent peanuts on it.

Exactly! It is what it is. I'd love to have a switch like studiovap built but don't have the knowledge or gear to accomplish. However, not due to performance as mine work fine, but for the craftsmanship in the switch itself. His second attempt is not only functional but compliments the CCTS nicely.

18350 - I believe you would have no problem using Flat tops with a 2cent resettable fuse. Remember to use higher ohm coils.

Thanks gang. I'll be getting a genesis-style atty to go along with this eventually, but it'll be a few weeks.
I'm thinking either the SmokTech RSST or an AGA-T2.
The springs on the posts in the RSST make it look like a slightly easier to work with, but everyone
seems to really really like the AGA-T2. Since it'll be my first rebuildable I figure it's better to follow the
herd in this instance.

The RSST would probably be easier to work with as a novice since the wick hole tolerance is spot on, which will prevent most hot spot issues. Unfortunately the tank is plastic and can crack/leak with certain juices. Its the reason I don't plan to buy one.

The AGA-T2 is an incredible atomizer for the price and is a perfect platform for modding. The glass tank gives you the ability to use any juice. Just bend the wick towards the positive post or use a small ss washer to prevent hot spot issues.

Can't go wrong with either one provided you don't use plastic cracking juices.

tc1, thanks heaps for the input! I don't use much strong cinnamon or citrus juices, or banana. So while I DO like glass/quartz tanks, plastic doesn't bug me too much.

Hey while I'm here asking redundant questions, is there a flat top-cap that will fit the ChinaGG? I don't mind the sloped cap it comes with, just wondering.

Smok Vivi is a perfect fit on the CCTS. Not that I like it, but is does match up. I have heard of people successfully converting it to a Mesh wick setup and that is why I picked one up. Haven't bothered converting yet because the threads seem undersized and loose to me. Maybe in time I'll do it.

Well ... the finish is a bit rough but not bad considering I mainly used a dremel.

Using several dremel bits from the polishing kit I was able to get a gold finish. The bottom ring of the top cap, mid extension tube, and the rings on the bottom cap as well as the bottom have been refinished.

Looks good to me! Got any before vs. after pics? How does it look in 18350 mode?

I got Vape Mail today a KTS GG Clone in Chrome and Gold. Question about the contacts. I hear that there may be significant voltage drop without sanding the contacts, but some have said it was not a problem. I do not have a multimeter, but suppose that I did have a .5 volt drop, what difference in the vape would it make? Battery discharge faster? Lower vape temperature to coil? Also, I have not seen posted where the Panasonic CGR18650CH flat tops are an acceptable battery to be used in this mechanical mod. They are advertised as Hybrid IMRs, # listed above - not protected. So far they work fine, and no hot switch yet.

It was just a standard chrome CCTS ... there's probably a pic of it earlier in the thread.

Tonight Ill probably upgrade the post spring and take a pic ... Ill throw in a 18350 pic as well. The finish is even nicer on my second go around with the wire polish brush.

I got a 0.2 volt increase with a little sanding. Not a life changing difference in vapor but a difference none the less. Battery and temperature will be unnoticable to most as well.

I use this Panny batteries all the time in my CCTS and other mods. They're good batteries.

Well the hardware store didn't have what I.needed but here is my CCTS in 18350 mode. Not as nice looking as 18650 with the refinished mid section ...

Still looks GREAT. These are GG Clones :hubba: and the GG is gorgeous, Sooooooo we get the looks without the $. This being my first mechanical mod, I am very satisfied in the value for the buck. I also received good advice about moving to 1.5 Ohm single coil tank cartos rather than the 3.0 Ohms I am using on my Vamo. I now realize that the 1.5 Ohms will give me a hotter, tastier vape on the GG Clone and I can turn down my voltage and or wattage on my Vamo.
