That's not a bad battery choice. You can use two for 7.4 hv vaping (which should require a i6 or i7 io atty) or use one of them with your favorite reg voltage atty in super short mode.

Some 18650's, maybe a couple of 3v cr123's and a charger to handle them all, and you're set.

Again, I love the 18650's, especially the high drain. I also carry a pair of 3v cr123's to shock my 510 atty for a few puffs when it starts to misbehave.

And the last time I looked at rob's site, he was down to the aluminum on the bottom only model, like my #61. Did you get your serial number from him?

I don't have a serial number yet. As soon as it arrives, I will take note. If I tell you mine, you must promise not to make covetous references to it. Your fondness for your GGs makes me :D

Thanks for the heads up on the 18650s. I do think I'll have to order a few of those and a charger. I ordered the most variable charger vaporkings had. See that's what I mean about the battery curve. I wish for a charger that charges both 3.7 and 3.0, but that just wouldn't be possible, would it? I saw you mentioned where you ordered the high drains, so I'll have to place an order for those.

Thanks, clyde. :)

1. Email Rob and he'll tell you the serial number. If it's over 150, it's the second batch. My first batch ggts is no slouch, but the second one is just pretty. If someone would have laid the two beside each other, and told me the newer one cost more money, I would have bought it. I think there may be a bit of a difference in quality control when it comes to the outside aesthetics of the various units.

2. I've got an ultrafire charger that will do both 3 and 3.7 v cr123's; it has a switch on the side.

3. Some trust fire chargers (like on fleabay) will charge both 18650's and two 3v cr123's stacked on top of each other. The high drains don't require a special charger, thank God.

Hope you enjoy it! And rob ships really quick. Good luck.

Hey Clyde...May I be so bold as to ask you to post a link or PM me exactly what battery charger you have or suggest. I am currently in the process of gathering my list for everything I will need for the GGTS. I would prefer to have just one charger for as many applications/battery combinations as possible. LOL...I may be asking the impossible but it sure would be nice not to have to purchase 4 different chargers. I sure appreciate you expertise...........JB

Sure, thanks. Ultrafire wf-138 switching charger for the cr123a's. Any generic 18650 charger should work for all the 18650...just as long as there's a spring or slide to adjust for the different size batteries. High drain doesn't need a special charger. Hope that helps.

Looks like rob's site is almost completely out again on the GGTS's as of last night. Only brass bottoms are left so far.

Clyde....Thank you for the information and being so helpful regarding the charger information. I never cease to be amazed at the ppl here on this forum like you that are so willing to help others. You da man! I have been in touch with Rob and he is going to set aside the items for me as he gets them in stock. I am in no big hurry and want to make sure I get everything right the first time. With what I am about to spend, I am going to make sure I get what I want instead of letting impatience be the ruling factor and settling for anything sub par. Your review was great and was a major factor in my decision making process.Thank you for taking the time to post this thread and the amount of detail you went to.......JB

What's nice about the ggts is the simple, serviceable design that can be maintained out in the field. By using a few simple implements, I've been able to diagnose or repair annoyances or minor malfunctions out in the field: a switch meltdown can be fixed by looting a spring from a cheap ball point pen, and any contact interfering corrosion on the brass parts can be solved with a common pencil eraser. (MacGruber!)

After spending time with the ggts, it almost feels like a trusted rifle to an infantryman. You know its limits and can easily service it without the need of the armorer.

And again, if something goes wrong that can't be fixed, help is available on the boards immediately and parts are only a day away from vapor kings. I don't want to disparage other mods, but I want to cringe when someone tells me that theirs has to be sent halfway around the country or the world for repair.

MacGruber! He only has a paperclip to get up his vape again!
MacGruber!

It can be if the atty is screwed on too tightly. Happened with the 901 and 1st gen afs and a 510. Also, attempted to put in a 18650 the wrong way and scratched the protective coating.

And a cheap ball point pen is the same diameter as the one in the switch. Was able to super compress it so the switch is more taut. Ended up liking it better. 2nd gen switch is supposed to have stiffer spring, too.

Oh, I see... the spring actually carries a current. Interesting. I thought perhaps there was a center post that makes contact, and the spring was just there for tension. Well, good to know about being able to use a spring from a cheap ball point pen! Thanks for the tip. :)

Can't wait to get mine!! Anxiously waiting for Canada Post to get up off their lazy butts and deliver it already.... (nah, they deserve time off too....).. though it's been stuck in customs since the 1st, or so says tracking.
