Received my GGTS #289 yesterday, a day I have been eagerly awaiting. I have a few other mods but knew the GGTS was for me. Package arrived, I was excited.
Opening it up I loved the wrapping etc, thanks Lisa, finally getting to the product I was in love. My last mod was a Silver Bullet, I expected it to be that size. Due to better manufacturing it is a lot smaller and lighter which surprised me a lot.
So into the Ultra Sonic bath I put my new baby, then a bit of a polish. Finally time to use it.
I loved everything about it except the button, all my other mods have had button near the top and I didn't like it near the bottom. Also felt too big and maybe a bit rattly. After a day use I would still prefer the button on the top and maybe smaller.
Went for 7.4V of course with VHV and it was a bit strong for me so played around with different Attys and batteries. Had a few issues. You need to be careful when tightening or the atty .... plug will push the bottom of Attys in causing a short. Pair of tweezers can correct this by pulling it out slightly. Maybe more of a 510 issue than 901.
Another issue I had was with the spring fuse (I updated). All looked fine but vape was random, changed the spring (looked fine) and all came good. A mod I would suggest for this is as follows imeothanasis if possible:
At the end of the screw instead of screwing the fuse on, hollow out the screw so the end of the spring sits in it.
Played around with different batteries and Attys, found another slight issue. With a 510 atty and no adapter the .... plug extends into the body too far causing thread to show that doesn't while using the 901. 901 works a lot better visual wise than 510 with different batteries. Two fixes for this:
Use the 901-510 adapter to move the Atty further from the body ie:
GG 901 to 510 adapter - Cloud 9 Vaping
or another option would be a new shorter .... plug just for 510's.
I hope I don't sound like I'm complaining, very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend the GGTS to anyone. Even vaping at 3.7V is like 5 or 6V on other PV's. Now to work out the combination of voltage and atty that's perfect for me
Another option that might be useful is a new short Aluminium section for the top half when using single smaller batteries and not using the centre brass screw piece..
