Since I DIY just for myself and friends I don't get as technical as I would if I was making it to sell. I have mixing bottles that I marked with permanent marker at 5% and 10% intervals. When I want an ingredient less than 5% I count drops for those. I know this is frowned on by the "experts" but it works for me and keeps it simple and fun.

I wear gloves, keep a sanitary surface and utensils and plan on using a dust mask in the near future. I feel more comfortable vaping my mixes than not knowing how vendors handle their mixing and what their sanitary practices are.

Marking the bottles is a great idea, and I already have gloves. I would dare to say that anyone who frowns upon your method hasn't been a woman in the kitchen cooking all of her life LOL. And thank you for making me feel welcome to ask questions, I'm sure I'll have some but will post in the non recipe thread :)

Thanks for the answer GD. I've been following the EM conversation about adding body to mixes as well as a bit of sweetness. This will be my first time trying my hand at DIY and I've been studying the guide. I will probably mix some single flavor juices to get the hang of it. Ordered 60mg nic to start with and flavors that I know I will like alone as well as being common to the dessert flavors I love :)

I did the same thing Bovina, mixing the single flavors first. When you order from Capella's you gotta try their Chocolate Coconut Almond if you like the Almond Joy candy bar. I added it at 20% and found it hard to stop vaping, puff, puff, puff, puff, LOL. Oh, and their Toasted Almond, yummm.

Hubby is going to feint when he gets the CC bill this month ha! My DIYs better be good so he'll have something to keep his mouth busy and not yelling at me :)

Those flavors sound good. My current vape is gonna be hard to top, I am addicted to Ms T's snickerdoodle. I've been vaping this for almost 2 months and can't make it thru a day without it as my main flavor. I do have others I use but I CRAVE the snickerdoodle.

I haven't tasted Mrs. T's Snickerdoodle but perhaps it's FA Cookie, CA Cinnamon Danish Swirl and either Vanilla Custard or French Vanilla. If not, I imagine those would make a good mix.

Oh, and add a little of your Toasted Almond to Double Chocolate and a little Caramel. That one is heavenly! 20%/60%/20% and EM and/or sweetener to make it really pop! (Of course I ALWAYS add about 10% Vanilla Custard to everything creamy.) I was thinking about making a nic base with my nic, PG, VG and Vanilla Custard.

Yall are killin me LOL! All those flavors are right up my ally :) And I bet you are very close on the Snick recipe GD. I have tried a couple of different vendors versions and Ms T's a leaps and bounds better, very creamy and not overpowering on the cinnamon. I did order the bigger bottle of CA Van Custard since I figured it would be yummy. I hope I'm not too disappointed with the waffle flavor from PA. I should have read the flavoring review before I ordered

Not here.
Lyn, I'm pretty sure the spicy taste I'm getting from the gingerbread is a clove flavor, although not strong in this recipe. I'm not much of a clove-lover and that's one reason I came up with the brulee part.
In that case, I'm gonna' try it with Waffle instead.

You are a gem, GoodDog! I very much appreciate your assistance.

GoodDog....you mention looking for a good butterscotch. Me Too!

I've only tried two, LorAnne and FA. Don't bother with FA. Both their caramel and butterscotch aren't very good. LorAnne is decent tho, have you tried that? Keep us up to date, I'd really like a good, rich butterscotch as well.

If you google butterscrotch, it's just brown sugar, butter, a little vanilla, and sometimes condensed milk and rum. Maybe you could try working those around to get the taste you're after.

"butterscrotch" was that a Freudian slip? LOL

Thanks for that SS! I have all those ingredients so I'll experiment and post my results. Although I haven't had much luck making complex flavors from scratch with pre-made flavorings. It might require the equivalent molecules for it to come out right.

A lot of people rave about FSUSA's Butterscotch liquids and they use FA, and I use it too and it's pretty nice. Could you have had a bad batch or something? What % did you use it at / what flavors did you mix with it?

Once cooked together these things change a lot unfortunately... but that combination still sounds delicious.

Dunno if it's a bad batch, but I tried it at 10%, 15% and 20%, and it wasn't anything to write home about at all. I didn't mix it with anything, just by itself to try it out and get a feel for it's taste.
