As I'm sure many of you know, there's a company out there called Trippy Tips that makes and sells insanely cool glass tips that are unfortunately next to impossible to acquire - they don't make many of them, and they sell out from the site instantly (sound familiar?). When people offer them up in the classies, it's generally only in exchange for other Trippy Tips.

I want one. While the designs and colors of Trippy Tips are cool, what really draws me to their product is their bases - the bottom part of the tip that goes into the atomizer. Other glass tip makers seem stuck on very short, single-o-ring'ed flares at the bottom which don't provide any stability. Trippy Tips are based with a nice long 'barrel' that sports a couple of rings, so the tip stays snug inside the atty, even with side-to-side pressure from the top.

I'd love to own a Trippy Tip, but it doesn't look likely. My question is, does anyone else sell glass tips with the Trippy Tip style base? I'm not so picky on designs and styles, but I gotta have a solid connection between tip and atty, and this style seems to be the best possible solution.

unsure

Sorry but I don't know of any. Btw I have never seen a Trippy Tip on their site (other than the $100K ones) for sale. Even when you click "availability" and lucky enough to see any they are not there and the site is either wrong or not updated. I really don't believe they make the $20 ones at all anymore...they certainly don't answer their messages.

They did have some up a couple weeks ago. I remember it being mentioned and went to look. Just could not make myself pay $20 for one.

Reading his thread I see there is a newsletter that you can subscribe to receive. It will let you know when they are going on site.

I'm signed up for the newsletter and subscribed to his thread - at this point I'm looking more for other vendors who sell glass/pyrex tips with a similar base. Of course, I'd love to have an actual Trippy Tip if and when they're available, but if anyone else out there is making a similar product, I'm just as keen to give my money to them.

I haven't seen another skillful glassblower making glass Drip Tips like Berts anywhere, and why the Pyrex ones dont have a longer base is crazy,,, they should, as well as a double O-Ring, just my opinion but I think they purposely dont because they are made to break away from a PV rather then break at times when there is pressure put on them in certain positions where it would just crack and break, but I would like to see a pyrex Drip Tip with a stronger base with 2 O-Rings spaced 1/16 or so apart.

I suspect that's the issue here - skill. It must take a very skillful hand to turn out such consistency and durability. If TT is the only place that can do it, so be it - I'll bide my time until I can score the genuine article... but if there's another vendor out there that can produce a long-barreled base that won't fall out with a gust of wind, I'm in.
