Time for - COFFEE

I've seen this discussed on a couple of threads and a number of people suggested the:

"Coiling Gizmo Deluxe Econo Winder"
oRG5Ncd.gif

(cost $8.00 - 15.00 depending on where you purchase and it is normally used for making Jewlery) they find very useful that might help Ya' . . . Matter of fact, many different Hobby & Craft stores have it Like Micheal's & JoAnn's (and also these stores have an interchangable 40-50% discount coupon you can use too which brings the price way down - particularly if you go to their store and don't pay for shipping {FYI - Stay away from Hobby Lobby reborn christian business that openly discriminates in their hiring practices but not taking peoples money . . . ) it is on Amazon, at Wally-World, & Staples too . . .

NO NEED TO . . . As I've mentioned "GMO" has product available and someone to ship it out - All you need to do is send him an order via an email and he will get you all hooked up . . .

Do you have Skype or some sort of video thingy? We could always video chat a coil session. Not that I am all that good by any means but I am more than happy to try and help.

Good morning everyone.

Yes, congrats Blue! I've noticed you have really been raking it in this week! Well done!

Coincidentally, LD, I'm planning to build my first RSST coil today, too. I do wish I had someone around to advise/help me! I keep buying RBAs, and then they sit there because building coils is completely new to me, and, to be honest, not the type of skill that I'm usually good at (wow, that was poorly phrased--let me simplify. . . I'm not in the least mechanically inclined!).

I do want to see if I am able to build it, though, before committing to buy yet another RBA in another co-op.

both vamos are on life support. no clue what happened all of a sudden. smae issue on both. 0.0 or low load readings. an occasional 9.9 .......... all on good, fully functional atties.
whats bizzare is that it happened to both on the same day.

here is my first assumption, it is the contact plate inside the 510. i think it is recessed, and the little rubber o-ring is sitting to high and preventing a solid connection.
i have tried to wedge the plate up with a nail/paperclip/thumbtack which usually works when i get 9.9 readings. but still nothing.

suggestions>?

this is dire b/c there are my only two remaining ohm readers!!! now how will i check OHMs!!!???

Make sure to check the screw post on the bottom of the RSST. I know those can move sometimes and be in too far. I can't remember if that one is adjustable or not.

I am enjoying the RSST, more that i would've thought! it is beautiful, fits flush on my Nem, and is adjustable without emptying the tank.
the only mod, which isnt much of one at all, is i very very slightly enlarged the air hole with a thumbtack.
i like Debs idea

id be down to do a group chat coil building session. i'd want Snarf to join us, if his bandwidth allows, he is much more knowledgeable than i.
i can show some easy Micro coil builds to fit just about any RBA. I use mostly cotton, no mesh experience yet..

it is adjustable, and i kept thinking it was the rsst, and not the vamo. but i get the same off readings for all the atties. i found that the center post should protrude just a tiny bit.

#3 I'm glad you like that RSST. oh yes it would be great if snarfy could join. But his speed may not allow it. So what do you think of the ceramic wick? try it yet?

You know I have a Vamo also and it's what I use to check my ohms sometimes. I do have a ohm reader thingy but it's nice to be able to use the vamo to check and then pulse the coil. I have had strange readings also. I found that if I had used a button top battery and then I tried using a flat top afterwards it was screwy. The button top will push the pin inside the vamo too far up. So once you use a button top you will always have to use it. Not sure if it could be that or not. I actually have a few of those battery magnets and I use one for my flat top battery now if I am sticking it in the vamo.

I think I am going to sand the poly off of the mini woodvile. I like the feel of the natural wood on my 18650 much better.

A thumbtack! How ingenious of you. I may try that on my RM2

I havent tried the ceramic yet!
i have confidence to get my MCs to a .9-1.2ohm range. but with the first ceramic build, i'd prob do a crude 4/5 wrap w/28g, and i would want to know the ohms. my reasoning, is that if i would have a difficult time threading the ceramic thru a tiny micro coil.

on an unrelated note, i used the mustache comb that came with my shavers for the first time and combed my beard. its a subtle difference, yet still an improvement.
suave, rico suave.

Wow, I had quite a bit to catch up on. Some days there's basically nothing, but today several things have my interest.

Would you believe, Deb, that I was the director for the technology center in my college for seven years yet I've never used Skype? That doesn't mean that I can't figure it out--it would make many people very happy if I would start using it. Let me give the build a shot, and if I have serious problems. . . then we can go this route. I'm afraid I'm so low tech that I would need to get a webcam!

I'm going to start with the RSST, but I've also got a KFL starting to gather dust. I'm also about to get a Russian 91% if this co-op ever gets off the ground (there have been several false starts on it already).

I've got to start dinner. . . cooking something pretty involved tonight.

#5 I had someone actually open up my jewelry box once while I was showing the house we had for sale. I asked them what the hell they thought they were doing. That does NOT come with the house. People amaze me. Sorry blue.

Well if anything we can chat while doing a build, Doc. I have never been a huge fan of video anyway. I'm too shy :)

I think the RSST is the one of the best to learn on. I never tried a KFL and my Russian apparently now seems to have a defect of some sort. Figures, cuz I was gonna sell it. Oh well the company says I can return it so no big loss.

Time to go make dinner see you all a bit later.
