Good morning everyone.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema (first location in Austin, TX) kicks folks out for using their phones. They banned Madonna for life, she has apologized and begged and they still won't let her in. It's the only theater I can deal with anymore. I turned down a job there when the first location opened, I thought it would never work. Now they are all over the country.

If every theater would do this, they would earn my business back. It's never going to happen, I'm afraid. I've even heard people answer their phones in Broadway theaters--and texting, while not common, happens, too. Nothing like disrupting the theater experience for people who have paid over $100 per ticket!

I assume most people here heard about the guy who shot/killed someone for using a cell phone in the movie theater. Yeah, obviously, that was an overreaction. I have to admit, though, that I can understand the impulse!

03/02 Entry #3 . . .

OK ok I get the point --- I don't read back!!!

MY FAULT

No Problem, was really only an FYI - "We're" GOOD . . .

NOW - If only "Red Horn" would only get the point and read back . . .

Hope "GMO" puts in a New :rules: for any other contest he has . . .

Post with No "Substance" = Not An Entry Into Contest - Period ! ! !

Almost as bad as someone running in and posting as many times as they can just to take over a contest to try to Win . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Amen to both points!

I withdrew from participating in a contest recently because it was impossible to keep up with the spamming. Then, ironically, I won the darn thing!

(On a bit of a "rules" kick this morning, Uncle? See my response to your post in another thread about rules. . . )

#2 Coffee=good, but that was hours ago. Now what? I need a v8.

Good Afternoon! Winter is NOT over..sleet, followed by light snow today. It was 81 degrees yesterday, grrrr
This is very confusing weather down here, I can only imagine how poor the spring crop production will be. About half of my flowing plants started to blossom a few days ago, and now this freezing weather hits again. We are not amused. :glare:

As far as the "rulez" of only posts with "substance" goes.

It can be quite hard sometimes to keep up with the conversation - 1
I'm in the middle of work usually and don't always have the time - 2
Sometimes (usually) I can't think of anything worthwhile to say! - 3

But I do admit that it's relatively easy to put a little more into a post than #...............................................

2: That is one enjoyable aspect to me about cold/snow, everything calms down and is more peaceful.

I have to admit that I really miss the winter. Okay, I don't necessarily like being out in the cold, but I do like how pretty everything is when it's covered in snow.

I've continued on my movie marathon weekend. . . as it turned out, once I finished American Hustle, I actually liked it. I mentioned last night that it was boring me--I was really tired, and I think that was a big part of the problem. As a gay man, I generally don't notice these things, but. . . wow. . . Amy Adams's breasts should be nominated in the costume category (if you've seen the film, you'll know what I mean!).

I was able to track down a "screener" copy (yes, a legal one, for the record) of Philomena. It doesn't stand a chance this year, but I thought it was awesome. Of course, Dame Judi Dench can do no wrong in my eyes. Steve Coogan was great, too--hard to believe he was the star of Hamlet 2!

It's what you said in the last sentence that I think most of are talking about. At least that's what bugs me. We've all posted some short things, but at least we generally post words.
