Good morning everyone.
If every theater would do this, they would earn my business back. It's never going to happen, I'm afraid. I've even heard people answer their phones in Broadway theaters--and texting, while not common, happens, too. Nothing like disrupting the theater experience for people who have paid over $100 per ticket!
I assume most people here heard about the guy who shot/killed someone for using a cell phone in the movie theater. Yeah, obviously, that was an overreaction. I have to admit, though, that I can understand the impulse!

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema (first location in Austin, TX) kicks folks out for using their phones. They banned Madonna for life, she has apologized and begged and they still won't let her in. It's the only theater I can deal with anymore. I turned down a job there when the first location opened, I thought it would never work. Now they are all over the country.![]()
