10/14 Entry #4 . . .

When I lived in New Hope PA, there was (and still is) the actual Tree House that "My" neighbors lived in . . .

#2?

Power just came back on after 10 hours. I took electricity for granted, it got pretty boring (and dark). I'm glad I had charged batteries, it could have gotten ugly. Rain will continue until Sunday, I hope this doesn't happen again.

I'll have a Fogger V2 here tomorrow, not positive I'll keep it but the price was right and I think they look nice. I have all kinds of wick, I'm pretty sure I'll get it working pretty fast after reading what you folks have done. I have 5 vapemail packages coming tomorrow in total, not including MIA batteries from FT and a purchase from the classies that are delayed. I picked up another pair of Panasonics from Ebay, no more loose batteries from China for me. $10 to FT for batteries might be a total loss, but the missing ECF classifieds purchase has been resolved or will be soon. I shouldn't say what's coming, "pics or it didn't happen".

The seller let his son package a bunch of ECF items and Ebay sales (highly collectable sports cards) and they all went to the wrong addresses. Once it gets back to him he'll send along some extra goodies to make up for it. He asked me if I received a 1965 Mickey Mantel card, he's not sure where it went. At first I was mad, but now I feel sorry for him.

I learned something today, thanks in part to the Kick 2. A 1.3 ohm coil on a RSST seemed too hot, tons of vapor but the flavor was burnt. I turned the Kick 2 down to ~9.5 - 10 watts (where I like cartotanks) and now it tastes great. VW "set it and forget it" had me thinking that going straight off the battery was much higher watts and it didn't make sense that I would like the vape from a fully charged battery. It sounds crazy, but the next time I go straight off the battery on a mechanical I'm going to try a coil around 2 ohms, or even better a dual coil that comes out just over 1.0 ohm. I know I liked a dual coil at 1 ohm before but never thought about the reason. Also, I'm still loving the Kick 2 since the vape stays the same until the battery reaches 3.5 volts, a great place to stop and recharge. It's hard to go back to the battery voltage drop of a mechanical after being spoiled like this, I'll give it another try but another Kick 2 might be in my future. Must sell more stuff first.

Pardon my rambling, carry on...

Hey, Schnarph!
Haven't seen ya for a few...

Is there any amperage drop or limitation when using a Kick?
My coil seemed slower to heat up kicked vrs straight mech...
Or I just still haven't dialed the bastage in.
Kick 2:
Output Power- 5 Watts to 15 Watts
Output Voltage- 2 Volts to 6.3 Volts
Output Current- 6 Amps
Atty Resistance- 0.5 Ohms to 3.3 Ohms

I wouldn't know how to measure any drop or loss, the contacts are all brass anyways. There might be a half second delay like many VW devices that need to check the resistance before firing but I haven't noticed enough to complain. All the specs go far beyond what I would need, although I can't pull up Evolv's page right now to get the rest of them. Auto shutoff at 3.5v and being a fuse as well makes it a great safety device. The double ground (negative) contacts have never given me a misfire. The clones don't really compare, you can't use a dual coil at 1 ohm on them. I can't address the Kick V1, I've only used the Sigelei clone and it is back in the box waiting for use with a cartotank.

Talk about a day that's not exactly sunny, it's been raining down here.
The last day of ACL (yesterday) was cancelled due to rain. Here's some pics of the aftermath:

Upside? The trees are happy, except near creeks where they washed away.

#4 - Thanks Jac and boardo for the offers of help :) I'm sure I'll take you up on it. I've been using mesh and kanthal so far and it hasn't gone well.

Yeah... Mesh is tough with the Frogger... The hybrid mesh might be workable, if you spread it out after you screw down the chimney-cap to fill any gaps...AND use that horrible o-ring that flies off like those cheesy rubber bands kids used for their braces. :glare:
